Callum McGregor

Apologies if this has been talked about but I read or heard on the radio that McGregor was a bit petulant and showed his displeasure when he was substituted against Wolves on Saturday, Derry said in an interview that he was being immature and he took him off for the good of the team.

I hope that it hasn't soured the relationship between player and manager and it was just a heat of the moment thing.

What do the people who were there think, was Derry right to substitute him or should he have stayed on? What form did the petulance take? Was he right to be annoyed?

the manager holds the right to making changes, if its down to poor performance or to just give us something else to balance up play.

if mcgregor was playing well enough, he would not have been subbed. i personally hate reading things like this!

He's young and eager to impress, I would put it down to the heat of the moment.

McGregor should know he's not untouchable and even if he had a blinder, Derry might have seen his condition was draining or something. It's really Derry's decision at the end of the day, players need to learn to put frustration a-side. I used to hate being subbed, especially when I knew I could have done something but I never sulked or became stroppy.

I don't think there's a professional player out there who wants to be taken off, yet McGregors supposed reactions aren't good for a team and I hope it doesn't create any further issues.

I personally think it should be forgotten. Saturday will tell us if there's any fallout, I suspect both will just get on with the important task of saving us!

He showed frustration at being taken off but he wasn't haven't a particularly good game. He'd missed a great chance in the first half which he should have put away. I think he was probably disappointed with his own performance and showed anger when he was taken off because of it but he'll be there Saturday in the starting line up I'm sure.
