We have three Notts teams from the North of the County that have made the United Counties Division 1 playoffs. Step 10 of the football pyramid.

They all have an opportunity to be promoted to the United Counties Premier Division, (step 9)

Retford FC, Retford United & Clipstone FC

AFC Mansfield, my local club, has made the United Counties Premier Division ( tier9) playoffs.Β

Retford FC and Retford United played each other at the weekend in what was ultimately a meaningless game for both. More than 1000 people turned up, and it's quite possible that the sides will lock horns again in the play-off final in a couple of weeks.

The United Counties League in general has loads of Nottinghamshire teams after they were gradually shunted out of the NCEL. I've also got a soft spot for Eastwood, who seem to be flirting with a return to the NPL.

I know that EastwoodΒ  as does Long Eaton, have a Nottingham postcode. Eastwood CFC made the playoffs along with AFC Mansfield. Eastwood could meet AFC Mansfield in the final if they both winΒ  their semi finalsΒ
