Could Humans Live Forever?

With the Advancement of A.I. and Robotics, a Question to ask could Humans Live forever.? At the moment Robotic human limbs have been developed for people who have lost limbs in an accident or are born without certain limbs. Will there ever be a time in the Real World when a Person's Brain could be installed into a Android Replica of that person, with that persons memories still intact? ? The Brain would be human, but their body would be made up of Robotic parts, therefore making it possible for them to live forever. Well probably not forever as the Human Brain being organic would end up decaying and dying, but if an Android body can be built why not components to keep their brain functioning?

If things such as these become possible the Strain on the World's Resources would become unimaginable, but if Human technology advances to where they can colonize other World's perhaps the idea of living forever might become a possibility?

It's a good question @Wheelbarrow repair man & not easy to answer.

The advancement of AI & Robotics is equally exciting as it is disturbing. At this point, with development & knowledge moving so fast, AI is going play a massive part in the future of the human race.

One thing is certain. I believe that within 5 years we will see Humanoid Robots in factories & Warehouses replacing Humans.

We will probably see them walking the streets doing errands for humans & in people's homes who can afford them. The Terminator & I Robot movies do have a lot of truth in them & that is the disturbing part of all this.

AI intelligence is going to get so advanced that it could possibly become a conscious entity without a conscience. That is the worrying part.

As for Androids with a human brain as we saw in a original Star Trek episode, I think that will be hard to do. A human brain needs an oxygen & blood supply & a constant temperature. Oxygen & CO2 has to be exchanged, blood pressure has to be controlled & nerve endings need to be connected successfully to control an artificial body. That makes it very complicated.

What I can see is an AI Humanoid processor come brain being programmed with human traits & mannerisms as we see in Data from STNG

If we are not careful, & without internationally agreed controls, I think the World could be going down a potentially very risky path for humanity,

Hey @Robbie ,

How about this for the future you're sitting in your seat at the Lane in the KOP, Derek Pavis or Hayden Green Stands, and a couple of young kids come and sit next too you. The Teams come out and you a give a Big Sigh, Are You Alright Mister ? Asks one of the Kids. Yes Thankyou Young man, You Reply. You know I Remember The Day, When All Footballers Were Human. The Kid Laughs and turns to his mate and Whispers This Silly Old Sod, Reckons Humans Used To Play Football.

I don't think it's likely to happen.

There was a news segment I saw on YouTube which covered this topic and said that it's possible to "de-age," but I think it's mostly nonsense and sci-fi. I also don't think many people would choose to live forever. It's hard enough watching your loved ones die as you age, and more people around you pass on, too. Every time a celebrity passes, it can hit home just how short our existence is.

However, I wouldn't want to live in this world forever.

It's possible that, over time, our lifespan will increase, especially through healthier eating and advanced care.

Scientists are looking at growing organs, and even organ printing. More realistic achievements need to be made, such as cures for cancer and being able to learn more about what causes it to grow. It might not be "cured", but there's no reason we can't learn more about how best to avoid it. (at least try)

Living forever just sounds very unrealistic, even with the advancements made in modern day.

Here's just another thought, what if your memories could be uploaded into an A.I. Android? That could be a way of living forever, or even installing your memories into a Interactive Hologram of yourself? Things like this sound far fetched Nowadays, but think what might be able to be achieved a couple decades down the line.

Uploading your mind into a robot isn’t staying human. You lose what makes you real. As for living forever, like Freddy once said, there's no chance for us.

It’s better to live the best life you can, then die and hope rebirth is real.

You could implant my brain in a cyberman and let me live 1000 years, and yet I still wouldn't live to see Notts reach the second round of the League Cup.

i dont think anyone will live forever, unless self healing is something that happens to the evolution and even then it seems unlikely. it reminds me of the film where robin williams plays a robot that lives beyond his master, and marries into the family in the future as he chases being more human like.
