It Could Be Worse...

Most people would say Peterborough United are a good League One team, right? They have lost all four of their opening games. Now, imagine Kevin Nolan as manager again, Northampton Town would have to deal with that. It would make things for the Cobblers look a lot more encouraging if he wasn't.

League Two isn’t as hard as it looks for us, and there’s no reason Notts cannot turn the start around. Get a winning streak, encourage the lads, and we should be halfway there.

The game tomorrow against Bromley, the Notts performance & the final result will tell us a lot about Notts's playoff credentials.

@Anti-Red, I think that League 2 this season is tougher than last Season. However has you say IF (and that's a little word with a Big Meaning) Notts can put together a Good Run, there is a chance of the Magpies having a Decent Season. But at the moment there are still to many weak spots in the team. The Count (Roos) is my main worry, with the Experience he has he should have settled in by now, but he hasn't and he doesn't install any confidence in the Defenders in front of him. A lot of PON Members think he should be given more time fair enough, but if Notts lose today that's another match ticked off and the chances of a Playoff Place, becomes harder. If MP doesn't want to give the Young Keeper ago, then put Sam Slocombe back between the Sticks (I think he's still registered as a Notts player), at least Sam's Not Afraid to come off his line and command his Area.

I would consider putting Sam in goal as a temporary measure while the club can get a suitable experienced league 2 goalkeeper in.

As you say @Wheelbarrow repair man Roos has had plenty of matches to settle in but it still appears that him and the Notts back line still don't look a coordinated unit yet.

I would still be inclined to give Griffiths a chance. He did play reasonably well in the preseason games.

@Robbie if past seasons are anything to go by then any New Keeper, the Club Signs will have to be either a Free Agent or Dirt Cheap.

But I've Got a Horrible Feeling we've seen the Last of any New Signing at Notts until January, because which Experienced EFL Players are

Still Available at a Price the Club would be comfortable paying? The Problem is Notts have left Summer Signings to late. It took the Owners

Four Weeks to hire a Replacement for Stuart Maynard, you would have thought once the Brothers had decided to a Parting of the Ways with

Maynard, a Replacement would have been in Place within a Few Days Not Weeks. Now their Dithering could end up costing the Magpies a

decent Run at the Playoffs.

@Wheelbarrow repair man Listening to MP's post match presser he did seem to be frustrated that Notts haven't brought in additional players up to this point. I can understand his frustration because the Club have left it very late to get replacements in.

I also think it's important to state that we still have players in the squad that MP hasn't given a chance to show what they can do like Will Jarvis, Mai Traoré, Jack Hinchy & Curtis Edwards.

Don't forget Harry Griffiths....

Good point @gtownjohnno Griffiths hasn't been given a chance since the time he impressed in the pre season games.
