Former Notts County player James 'Jimmy' Jackson has died aged 81.

According to the former players association website he made 113 appearances in the famous black and white between 1951 and 1957, in which he netted 47 goals.

Sounds like a brilliant servant to the football club.

Rest In Peace Jimmy, thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

It's a great shame, 81 is a fairly good innings and I'm sure he's achieved a great deal during his life. It's not a name I am familiar with, so it's times like this that I wished I now had someone I could ask to gain a further insight. It would be a nice way to honour him :) 113 appearances around those dates is impressive, so no doubt a great servant to the football club. Thanks for posting this James!

R.I.p Jimmy, our thoughts and respect are with your surviving family + the legacy you've left behind.

R.I.P Jimmy Jackson. It's not a known name to me either but regardless it's sad to hear about one of our older players.
