I thought I'd share my news.

I have now taken over as manager of my team Riverside Rangers U18s (Long Eaton) from my coach/assistant manager role. I've never had full control and it is an exciting prospect.

The team folds this year and I will be starting a new U21 team utilising a lot more of the local talent which is daunting and a whole new challenge. Wish me luck PON

Regards Al

You Pies!

Nice one, sounds good!

The closes I got to management was trying to organize a team in a five-a-side league.  I never thought people would be so opposed to playing some bloody football!!! My rise to power came when I took over while someone was on holiday, however when he got back he wasn't interesting in taking charge back.

Needless to say the team I tried to run doesn't exist now!

I may take up on the coaching side of things, I'd love to do a feature on this type of thing if you'd be interested? It would be quite a thing for them also, as it could give them the 'feel' for the big time (of course depending on interest/permissions).

Keep it up mate, you make a great coach and it's a fantastic thing that you do.

Well done and good luck!

Many moons ago I coached Sunday league football, two of the lads I trained went onto play for us Owls.

Best of luck to you with this adventure.

Good luck in your new post @Captain Sticky. It's people like yourself giving their time and going unnoticed who make a difference in life.
