Sending kids to bed doesn't work anymore, as their toys are in their rooms. The step or the bottom of the stairs is a better idea in most cases because their isn't as many interesting things there for them to get distracted with. Although with Ellie we have to make sure she stays there and doesn't wonder off into the kitchen to get herself a packet of crisps or biscuits.

Definitely is, Jake sits there and sulks or starts stamping his feet. Ellie can sit there fine but sometimes just thinks its closer to the kitchen no one will notice. Abit like never leave cupboards unlocked or fridges open with Ava around. She takes food out the fridge ans raids cuboards with any chance she can get, Babybels and bananas are her favourite at the moment

There's certainly nothing wrong with Ava's appetite. It's amusing how she always wakes up as soon as food appears near her.

Shes quite good at that, but then she has always liked having a nap at around the time people eat and then waking up to eat hers and everyone elses.

Yes ,It's funny how The food on everyone elses plate is more appealing than her own plate, although exactly the same.

All kids are like that, or at least all your grandkids are. Maybe they think if they eat our food they can go to theirs after.

They've all liked your beer when they were very young then not wanted it anymore when they got a little older. Beer must taste nice at a young age and then most like it when the go towards adulthood, with a few exceptions.

The funny thing is how selective the kids are. They seem to be real ale fans too.I had to keep my glass out of reach or they would help themselves.

Lol I know a conversation is good even if its off topic, just strange how a favourite books topic turns to real ale, just like the site stats turned to real ale too lol

Yes definetly. I think if we put ours on the shelf, 99% of them would be childrens books, i'm not much of a reader myself :)

I loved it on Friday when Jake read me his school library book. He made no mistakes and was really enthusiastic. Then Ellie decided she would 'read' the book to me.She made up a story based on the pictures. Very funny! :)

I like it when he does his homework and its about finishing sentences of a story. The story ends so far fetched its unbelievable. Its like the other day going to paddle in the sea means that you are going to get eaten by a shark and travel to the moon on a magic space ship that appears on the beach. I think hes been watching too much doctor who

It is funny how sharks , alligators, crocodiles,, various monsters and spiders seem to feature in Jake and Ellie's stories.

Do you remember last year ,on holiday, when grandma and me left  you ,Joe, Ellie and Ava to walk to a pub in  Ingoldmells village. It was dark and Jake decided he wanted to come with us so that he could protect us from zombies.

I can remember one year he said that yes, just can't remember which year. He does say silly things like what would i do if such an such happened... its always something soo silly and far fetched it would never happen.

Like we have to beware of zombies and monsters when I bring the kids home on Fridays.I don't have to worry at the moment though because Jake says they're

all on holiday at Skegness. :)

Apparently , according to Jake ,  the zombies are only at Skegness for the first week then return to Nottingham . It does change though , depending on the situation-i.e. whether it suits Jake's plans. :)
