New Director?

The problem is that people read reports in the paper and articles on the net and take them as fact. Also people believe what they want to believe and wont accept the truth sometimes.

Its pretty much all the rumours thar people read, obviously there are some real articles but the rumours seem to shine through because they are more dramatic. Some people would believe anything, others will look into the story abit more before accepting it as the truth.

This may have been on the OS but judging by the above posts not many people were aware of this.

By the way, my comments were not intended as a dig just an observation. The recent newspaper article regarding Zoko and his shirt is a case in point. I thought the report was way out of order but people read it and before long all sorts of stories are flying around. I realise  it isn't always in the best interest of  Notts County or players to make things public and some things should be dealt with inhouse .I suppose it's a no win situation sometimes-if an official statement is released then the facts get twisted. If the club and players say nothing we get mischievous newspaper reports.

Point taken, but, to be fair, the first port of call for our supporters would be the Official site and if people look on there, they will get the facts. Most stuff on the radio and NEP is just their version/twist of what we release. And yes, you're right, staff issues are rightly kept in-house but, hey, this is football, and there's always someone wanting to make an interesting story somewhere! Frustrating for the club at times, as to put things straight may involve saying too much!

Hello Aileen

I'm sure I looked on the official site when I heard about this on radio nottingham but couldn't find it, having said that I find the official site very user unfriendly especially for mobile users, I give up on it sometimes, I know the club can't do anything about and you have to have what the league says.

I think its the enter site pop up box and the navigation that makes it user unfriendly on mobiles. Its not something that can be changed very much or easily so i wouldn't expect it to change but i personally look at other sites for news because they are easier to use.

Yes, I don't use my mobile to look at the OS, but then, I never use it to browse, it takes too long and I'm impatient! I've got used to the OS on my laptop now and quite like it. (surprisingly!!)

Its not too bad on my laptop, but i just don't like it on my phone. It can be slow at times on my phone, but when its not the site still is quite awkward. Some sites are ok on phones and some arn't in my opinion. I think its mainly the "enter site" image and some of the drop down navigation parts that are the main problem on phones.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I just read that Mr. Mark Ablitt has been appointed a full time director, he's a lifetime Notts fan, brilliant news.

There you are I didn't dream it, I was just a couple of months early with the news.

Just call me Mystic Tony.

Good news! Nice that its a notts fan. Very good Mystic Tony. :shifty:

It's old news though, not trying to be ungrateful. Hopefully it will dismiss the confusion which it had caused, so we can move on and focus on the prospect of future signings and daily on-going.

Yes,  all the confusion could so easily have been avoided by one simple statement 2 months ago and Mystic Tony wouldn't have doubted his memory. :)

It's not old news as such, he was initially brought in as an Associate Director and now is a fully fledged director as I understand it.

That's correct Tony,  but It was reported in a peculiar way causing confusion.

Posted

The way it was reported wasn't fully correct, which is why people were confused as others have said, I think announcing it properly would of stopped all this.

At least now we all know.

Tony, It was said he joined the board at the fans forum. I believe there's been a human error, which is why we see this link now. He had originally invested, then rumours regarding a new investor lead to speculation and some unrest (with the usual crowd). If I am not mistake Mrs Trew even mentioned he had joined the board awhile ago, so seems old news to me.

Worryingly, I could have dreamed this.

I think the confusion comes with the titles he did initially join as an Associate Director which requires investment but he is now a full director with a seat on the board and I assume a bigger investment.

I agree that originally this wasn't fully explained to the fans, I certainly found it confusing but it doesn't take much to confuse me these days.

You're not alone in your confusion,Tony, but at least the situation now seems to have been fully explained-at last

Mrs T mentioned on the 21st of April that he had joined the board. ;)

Took awhile to write about it, though I do recall unrest about it. People complaining/moaning that the club wasn't being honest, I knew I wasn't dreaming because it's sillier than my dreams. LOL
