Mentioned on Radio Nottingham this morning apparently the board have appointed a new director, I think his name is Mark something, he has invested an unspecified amount into the club.

That'll be £1.20 plus a bag of aniseed balls then.

Anyone heard anything? Anything mentioned at the forum last night?

Yes it was, I believe this director as been around more than 'recent'. I believe I heard his name mentioned to me by a couple of fans and an E-Mail I received towards the end of last week. I don't much more, might not have been official at that point but we need focus on making money where-ever we can. I don't feel directors are solely the answer.

It depends how much money the directors have as to whether they are solely the answer. If they are sheik billionaires they might just be the answer but seriously I agree with you, the club have got to get more income generated from non footballing avenues and I am sure the board are working very hard on this, there have been improvements since Mr. Trew took over but more needs to be done especially as the Financial Fair Play comes into effect.

Fair play rules would limit what any wealthy investor could put into the football team. It would be wise to keep developing Meadow Lane, increase the standard and I would like to know what's happening with regards to the large restaurant Mr Trew once mentioned. The renewal of the development as created 'interest' and prior to the trews investment in the MLSB I hardly ever seen people inside it.

The drinks also were of a poor standard, the lemonade, coke etc all tasted foul. Now it's a lovely place and very popular!

There's many areas where the club could increase the revenue, I think it's 50% ambition and 50% knowing your market and sadly the club fail to put some of the things across. Such as food were being served yesterday, I heard many comments from people who didn't know.

Firmly I believe support would follow under condition thrown but this comes down to unity, I feel naive often but I do think if other clubs can have great support in their darkest hours, why can't we when it's not even half as bad as people try to make out? I really have to scratch my head sometimes because it's not fair to blame the board, players, fans but it falls into every nook and cranny. What happened yesterday isn't going to change thing! Sadly the ambition needs to meet all on a level playing field. Just not Meadow Lanes pitch

Sorry I couldn't resist myself, the pitches used to be far worse than they're now. It's excuses which need unmasking, the passion needs to be relighted and hopefully the love for the club will rekindled. I'm kidding myself, far too many 'happy pills for me'.

More investment will be handy, I just wonder what we give over if anything and what people bring to the table. I hope it's more than just capital income, marketting as an idea the club should focus on more."There's many areas where the club could increase the revenue, I think it's 50% ambition and 50% knowing your market and sadly the club fail to put some of the things across. Was it a new Associate Director? The last one we had named Mark was Mark Ablitt and his wife. But they signed up in September 2012.

Associate Director

As well as a six-figure cash investment into the Club, Associate Directors will also contribute to both the strategic and commercial development of Nott's County through their business acumen and contacts.

A bonus or coupon payment system is also linked with Associate Director investment if promotion is achieved over the next five to eight years.

Importantly, all Associate Directorship investments will be used to assist the funding of an expanded youth development scheme, robust scouting program and an advanced player tracking system with state-of the art performance analysis tools in order to develop a leaner, more competitive playing staff for Nott's County

i thought that, not sure but the club needs to be like other football boards. if they want championship football, setup like but dont spend as if we are until we are there.

I think Mark Ablitt was the name mentioned the christian name was certainly Mark, the way Radio Nottingham reported it I thought it was a recent appointment. They said he was a lifelong Notts supporter. How odd there is no mention on the main website.

I've not heard much about this at all. Would be interesting to know more about it. Are they actually going to help the club out very much is the main thing.

I'm beginning to think I dreamt about hearing this on the radio as I can't find anything about it now.

It was an early morning sports report by Colin Slater on radio Nottingham the morning after the fans forum. Please someone else must have heard it too.

This is part of the problem at Notts at the moment-Lack of genuine information. It happened when Lee Hughes departed and KC went. It leads to silly rumours and uncertainty.

We don't have the luxury to respond to every whim Super Ram, I think the club should try to stop any disruptive rumours before they get out of hand and this is called 'good media handling'. Yet, It depends who ask to who receives I suppose.

Actually, all the information was on the OS.

Regarding Mark A, he first invested as an Associate Director, then recently, came on board as a full Director.

This may have been on the OS but judging by the above posts not many people were aware of this.

By the way, my comments were not intended as a dig just an observation. The recent newspaper article regarding Zoko and his shirt is a case in point. I thought the report was way out of order but people read it and before long all sorts of stories are flying around. I realise  it isn't always in the best interest of  Notts County or players to make things public and some things should be dealt with inhouse .I suppose it's a no win situation sometimes-if an official statement is released then the facts get twisted. If the club and players say nothing we get mischievous newspaper reports.

I personally feel this is where fan site can help a club, true or not some things need to remain private and some stories must be coming to light because of people spreading them intentionally. I wouldn't solely blame newspaper reports because they pick stories up from other sources, though I feel that the evening post enjoy writing negative stories about Notts. I've been responding on their site recently, trying to bring a more positive opinion and others post some very great comments on the site.

I stopped reading the Evening Posts years ago, as you say Joe they just put negative stories on about Notts no wonder they call it the "Red Rag"

Alot of stories in newspapers are just made up of little bits of information and alot of made up bits to make ot seem more interesting. I don't tend to go on the official notts site as the flash on it is very awkward to use, especially if i am using my phone.

Quite a few comment on this, although the sites nice. The layout should be given greater control, as I think Notts could make the most of it if they had it. Yet as things stand, there's not much they can do with this regard.

I get alot of the information about notts from other sites aswell as this one, but i guess thats where some of us get false information from as not all sites have fully true information, some are just rumours.
