Martin "Mad Dog" Allen returns to Meadow Lane. His unexpected departure created quite a stir at the time and it still divides opinion amongst the Pies faithful. Our boy Izzy had a successful career at Barnet. 32 league goals in 68 games is mighty impressive!

Barnet have 21 points so far. That's 1 less than Notts. They have scored 23 goals, one more than Notts and conceded 28 goals, 3 more than Notts.

Barnet's away form is woeful. 4 points from a possible 27 points. 1 win in 9 games and a goal difference of -11.

Barnet drew 0-0 at home to Morecambe on Saturday. They have been on a decent run of form including a 2-0 win over Blackpool in the FA Cup. They haven't scored in their last 2 league games though. Their main threat comes from Akinde and Gash up front. 11 goals between them in the league. One to watch out for is 18 year old Josh Clarke. He has 3 goals in 6 games. He plays on the right wing usually.

Barnet play a straight forward 4-4-2 formation. They like to get the ball down and play it around at pace. Give them time on the ball and they will create chance after chance. Akinde is a real handful up front and the key is to stop the ball going into him. That will seriously hinder Barnet's chances.

Notts are coming off a disappointing loss at home and you would expect a reaction wouldn't you? I know we expected a reaction against Northampton but surely we'll get it vs Barnet. Barnet are a decent side but their away record and our home record suggests only 1 winner. I would be shocked if we lose this one. I'll go for 3-1 to Notts. Stead, Izzy (2).

2-1 Barnet to physical for us akinde has pace power in bundles he will bully Edwards and Sheehan .

They have a lot of pace in there side and Martin Allen will have a point to prove watch him fire them up.

Also Gash use to train at my gym and I've spoke to him before he's a alrite guy stronger then he looks to bit overweight tho.

Just think they'll bully us and itl be the end for moniz if we don't beat Barnet or Cambridge

I'm expecting this one to be tough but you know what? Then again, I think Notts will probably play better.

Against Northampton, our movement and passing was extremely awkward. Northampton did look 'fired up' and I expect Barnet to be much more eager to win on the road. We need to bounce back, it's something we used to manage very easily but the past few years we have struggled with this regard and I just feel it may be another depressing game. We need to pick the right passes out and learn to retain the ball, when Notts do this - we look the much better side.

I really don't know what the score could be, it's tough to call but performance aside - my head is telling me it will be a draw.

what we need to do is simply say Ricardo play McLeod an Murray an play the ball to them on the floor and there pace will cause mayhem

I can't add much as I couldn't name a single Barnet player.

But this is a real barnet.

Ha! Tristan Benjamin - What I would give to have seen him play or to have him back at Notts now in his prime.

So, what does everyone think Moniz will do tonight? Will he roll the dice and make changes? Or, will we see the lineup remain similar to the one which featured against Northampton Town? I would certainly like to see Murray start.

The reserves friendly this pm as been cancelled......we could see mass changes similar to the leyton orient fiasco....

expect stead to be shoved on the wing again expect McLeod thro the middle and Murray on other side front 3.

as for the rest it's anyone's guess if we lose he has to go that's clear I wish we would just play two out and out strikers.

When stead had Murray next to him he looked a diffrent player he could knock the ball to someone work off someone and looked a lot more dangerous.

But tonight hel shove stead wide

Great player. Well when you take off the rose tinted history glasses, he was a good player, but all the players from that team are remembered fondly. Loved watching them. The young uns like @notts-joe don't know what they were missing!

And even Dave had hair!

Important win tonight. Stopped the rot. Steady Eddy must be our top scorer by now?

The start was looking like Barnet may be onto something, then we started pulling passes and a total turn around happened. Neat passes, which honestly must have confused Barnet's defenders meant we looked very sharp going forward. The way we built for our first two goals, this is the standard we would like to see more frequently! It was very impressive.

Defensive, I have my concerns because the two goals we conceded were slopping and kept hearing flank thrown towards Roy Carroll.

Barnet's number 24 really annoyed me though, he should have walked well before he scored.

Their first wasn't special but at least it may warn us about giving unnecessary fouls. The way the goal managed to just roll through our wall and into the net was shocking, yet I have to say - nobody knows if Roy could have seen it. I don't blame him at all, I think the heckles from the stands towards him was a little pointless. Yet once they scored, it seemed our nerves set in.

4-2 and an entertaining game.

I don't think Barnet were onto to anything they were dreadful the worse team I've seen ever slow wholes everywhere in there team we should of had 6 but how they scored 1 was a shock.

Yea you can only beat what's out in front of you we did that but they were no test glad we played two up becuase for me when McLeod is up top most defenders will just mark McLeod.

Always leaving Stead space so even if McLeod ain't bang on form he still causes problems the final ball tonight for him just wasn't there.

Cambridge will be a test to see if we have turned a corner or its just a one off with two away games coming up I'd personally play two up top again and go for it
