I hope you enjoyed that result, two tremendous goals from England. Individual Brilliance from Kane, who had his back to goal on the edge of a crowded penalty area. Classy turn, instinctive finish and a goal from nothing. Equally instinctive from Vardy, the sort of goal usually scored against us and hailed as genius, then a typically 'English' goal to win it.

What right do you have to tell me I'm wrong?  You're not my Granddaughter.

Oh I enjoyed it alright, still grinning now! I'm off to a barbecue tomorrow, and I shall be wearing my England shirt!

What made it sweeter was the ignorance of the German commentator. Firstly expressing surprise that we weren't playing a long ball game, then telling us that in Butland we were forced to pick a keeper from 2nd division Stoke because there aren't any English keepers in the top flight any more. If you're going to wax lyrical on the English game, at least do your research.

Germany were comfortable in the first half, but the way we took control of the game in the second half was extremely impressive. Sheer quality from Kane and Vardy for the first two goals, and Alli really looked the part behind them. We'll pose a proper threat in France with those three, which is just as well as I still feel we have a soft underbelly. Just hope Alli or Kane isn't dropped to accommodate Rooney. Germany seem to lack a little leadership on the pitch without Lahm or Schweinsteiger.
