So much work to be done!

So, finally we have got to the end of this absolute abomination of a season, but the question is "Where do we go from here?"

No manager to look at the out of contract players, so who makes the decision? Guy "doesn't go to Notts games" Branston? I have looked at the players still under contract for next year and the most frightening thing is that we have 18 players under contract! Add Richards to that if he is kept on and that means 19, add a new keeper for 20 and that leaves any new manager very little room to manoeuvre, if we go for say a maximum squad size of 26.

I can only hope that we can move on some of those, if we can't we will be really struggling to stay up next year and for that reason, we must release all of the out of contract players, to at least maximise the quality in the few slots we have left.

The sooner this mess is all sorted, the better.

The big question is , who will sort it , our club has no leadership at the top , it needs a person with real drive asap , make no mistake its one hell of a mess .

no idea where to go but i hope if ray dont sell, he gets someone else to run the club. i think that would be a good start because we need things in place from top to bottom.

There is a huge amount of work to be done just when you look at the team, but the entire club is completely rudderless. We need to be taken over ASAP - if not, we're in for a grim season.

We need quality players. But they won't come until we have a new manager who can give us a fresh start.

But we won't get a decent manager until the ownership situation is resolved. The club has been criticised for only offering Mark Cooper a short-term contract, but the reality is that it suited him too with everything going on in the background. How many of you would take a new job knowing that in a matter of weeks you may have a new boss who doesn't want you?

On top of that we have Guy Branston, who seems to be acting as a de facto director of football. After presiding over last summer's recruitment and engaging in a power struggle with the manager, it's about time he cleared his desk. After all, at how many other clubs does the manager report to a glorified chief scout?

There's a lot to work through there. Other clubs have probably got half of their transfer dealing sewn up, and we don't even have a retained list and our players don't know whether to report for training on Monday. I can only hope that a takeover is imminent and that the new owner has a team ready to hit the ground running, otherwise we're going to have a problem.
