@ohstanleyaborah are you at the game?

I'm not mate, I couldn't make it today! Having to scour twitter to find everything out!

It sounds like the trialists ran the show, but I must admit I'm not sure what to make of this link with what appears to be another set of foreign imports.

I am sure the remaining quality can be found with players used to this division, however there's time to access the players and I think it was number 9 who is gaining a lot of mentions for his superb performance. More will be known against tougher oppositions though. Good win though! The Linby keeper seemed scared in most of the pictures I've seen.

Not a game to draw any conclusions from.  The scoreline was a fair reflection of the game, but the opposition was desperately limited.  We passed and moved well, no long ball stuff, but this was basically Central Midlands league v Development squad.  A good run out and a chance to look at a few players, but not a lot more.

An “interesting” Notts team beat Linby CW 7-0 at Hucknall this afternoon. Scorers were Snodin, Campbell, Mellors-Blair 3 (1 pen), Wildin, and Gibson.

Starting XI...

Scott Loach

Jordan Richards, Arjun Purewal, Aran Bassi, Jhai Dhillon

Wes Atkinson, Jack McMillan, Jordan Snodin, Rhys Sharpe

Adam Campbell, William Mellors-Blair

2nd half....

Montel Gibson, Luther Wildin, Haydn Hollis and Yohan Rutty-Smith replaced McMillan, Atkinson, Sharpe and Campbell.

Triallists :

Purewal, Bassi and Dhillon are all members of the Panjab team. A side made up of British Punjabis set up to represent the UK Punjabi community in football tournaments. They are managed by Reuben Hazell......a good friend of John Sheridan. They took part in the CONIFA World Cup tournament in Russia, and were beaten by the hosts in the final.

Arjun Purewal is 26 and currently at Bishop Auckland FC. Aran Bassi is 22 and currently with Albion Sports FC. Both stand well over 6ft and both look strong and mobile.

Jhai Dhillon is 20 and currently at Slough Town FC. He’s quick and lively, good on the ball, and very vocal. He was the pick of the three.

Jordan Snodin (22) is the son of former Leeds midfielder Ian Snodin. He was released from Leeds in 2013 and has since had spells with Bradford PA and Matlock Town.

William Mellors-Blair is 23 and Nottm born. He was a junior academy player with Man Utd and later had a spell at Walsall, but has more recently been playing in the USA for Detroit City. He’s around 5ft 11in and powerfully built. Also very quick.

All the triallists looked impressive but of course it’s difficult to judge them against such opposition.
