The prawn team...

Over the years Morecambe have emerged as a sort of barometer of Notts County's standing.

This was a post I put on Facebook on this day (28 Dec) two years ago, for a game that eventually finished 2-2...

Of course, 11 months and 3 weeks ago we lost 4-1 at the Globe Arena, and this time out, we won 4-1 at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe were also the team we beat to officially seal promotion to League One (that was another 4-1!) in 2010, and they were the team Sol Campbell played against in his only game.

However, my favourite barometer of County's success would be to not play them for a long, long time (except in the cups) because we'll be several divisions higher than them.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34025187Β 29Aug2015 I would go back further to this date. I made the journey in eager anticipation following a good performance at VillaΒ  Park. Genaro scored a beautiful goalΒ and all was looking good come half time. The second half Notts fell apart. Leyton Orient topped the table...how fortunes change...

I was also at that game @Piethagoram - it was one of those games where it was hard to watch.

It does show how quickly the game can change and how important stability is to have, without it - no success will come and without the hard work everything tends to be undone.
