Steve Mcclaren For Derby?

Featured Replies

It looks like Steve McClaren might be in line for the Derby job, he wasn't very successful with them over the river, what does @super_ram think?

Super has been very quiet these last few days.He was very annoyed when he heard of the manner in which NC was dismissed. He is fed up with the owners/board and feels frustrated and angry as he can't do anything about it but will just have to put up with whatever happens.I'm keeping well out of it.

Put your tin hat on and keep a low profile, he'll come round. He's obviously very passionate about the team he loves and it hurts when things go wrong.

He could do well - I don't see it though. Steve McClaren on paper is a fairly good manager, though I don't think he knows his limits and football this can be quite dangerous. He shouldn't have left Middlesbrough, least not for England. I think he could have done well for Florist had they have backed him like they claimed they would, it was awkward because he made the most of the situation. Steve "unloyal" Cotterill did worse than him but that's not remembered really, though I never got bored of listening to either manager's excuses.

Good Luck to Derby!

A field where dreams become reality.

I hear he has a Derby accent already......

Seriously, he's done well in the background at QPR. He's inherited a decent squad and should do well. Top 10 would be the aim I suppose?

I'll be listening to Radio Derby as usual tonight.Darren Wassell (youth academy) is in charge  with Steve McLaren in the stands.Play off position was the aim at the beginning of the season according to the powers that be(not NC) and Sam Rush says this is still the aim.I'll reserve judgement until christmas but will be making comments.I've called for patience with CK so I'll do the same with SM.

Playoffs would be fantastic. I don't think ye have a big budget? It's hard to compete in the Championship. I think it's the 6th biggest spending league in Europe.
