Ratings Notts v Northampton

Schofield 5 seemed slow  to spot the danger from that short cross along the 6 yd line. Otherwise untroubled to that point. Took a sending off for the team 2nd half from that atrocious back pass from Stubbs

Toots 5.5 Some real rusty passes continued from the Stevenage game

Duffy 6.5 Used his experience and with his trade mark dive too. Dug Stubbs out of at least one hole

Stubbs 4 Didnt expect his football skills to let the team down.

Milsom 5.5 struggled with the wide man. Some good work when down to 10 men

Rose 7.5 A change for the sponsors to call the MotM correctly. All energy and closing down

JO'B 5 Disappointed when losing a ball that could have created a second.

Doyle 5 Maybe tough marking, but why is he doing the dead ball delivery?... We were caught for Northampton's first by the midfield hole not being covered

Enzio 4

Hemmings 5 Never really pressurizes defenders, always gives up rather than chase on the shoulder. Credit for the goal, not much else

Stead 4 Set up 2nd well, ref gave nothing but his legs are going

Subs

Bird 6.5 Showed why he shouldnt have been dropped versus Barclay. Got stuck in

CMS 7 Dont know how far than humdinger was away, but really offers effort and a shot

Fitzsimons 6 Some point blank saves, not sure about the free kick. did it go through the wall?

Free kick was deflected, not Fitz’s fault. Duffy’s best game for ages.

Schofield: 6 - He played well, not sure the sending off could have been avoided.

Tootle: 6.5 - Read the game well and did okay, he's found good form.

Duffy: 5.5 - He really needs to shut his mouth, defended okay, but his positioning leads to issues for others.

Stubbs: 5 - Pretty average, he needs to stop following Duffy so much and read the game with his own thought.

Milsom: 6 - Solid at the back, very weak going forward. Very strange but it works out.

Rose: 8 - His best position is in midfield, he offers what Notts lacks and does well.

O'Brien: 5 - He did okay, it was hard for him to cope with the size of the opposition but I felt he tried.

Doyle: 6 - Not much better than O'Brien, he was somewhat wasteful, but made up for it with mopping up the ball.

Boldewijn: 4 - Awful performance, he looked lost and unable to get going.

Hemmings: 6.5 - Isolated but did the job otherwise well without complaint. It must have been frustrating for him!

Stead: 4 - He looks tired, not at his best and I feel he's being over played.

Subs

Bird: 6 - He did okay, nothing amazing, but he helped to add some glue on the back.

Mackail-Smith: 6 - based on effort. He applied himself well and looked lively despite being massively outnumbered.

Fitzsimons: 6 - He looked good, I was worried about him but he did fine.

A field where dreams become reality.

Schofield 5 - It was either let Northampton score or get sent off and he chose the latter. Tried to release the ball quicker

Tootle 5 - Kept backing off his man. Nolan-esque defending

Stubbs 4 - That backpass. Wow. I've seen bad backpasses at games before and on TV but that was something special. Hemmings spared his blushes

Duffy 7 - Defended really well. Solid

Milsom 6 - Grafted

Doyle 6 - Gets stuck in but please take him off corners

O'Brien 7 - Plugged away in the second half. Was on the Red Bull again

Rose 8 - Ran his arse off. Covered every blade of grass.

Boldewijn 5 - Quiet. Substituted early

Hemmings 7 - Another goal yet again. Did well closing down Northampton's defenders when he could. Cleared one off the line, denying a certain goal. This guy gets criticised for not caring. Hahahahahaha.

Stead 6 - Brilliant assist for the second. Good old tractor

Subs

Fitzsimons 7 - Was fantastic when he  came on and made some crucial saves

Bird 6 - Did what he needed to do when he came on. Cleared it, kicked it and defended it

Mackail-Smith 6 - Closed down the Northampton defenders. Could have come a bit closer to the goal when he had that shot

Ardley 6 - Did what he needed to do when we were sent down to 10 men. Bought Bird on late on to shore up the defence and put three central defenders on to counter the attacking threat. Scored at Meadow Lane for the first time since February. Battled well
