Slocombe 6 Unprotected full stop
Brindley 4 Not switched on for Harrogate's 3rd, just failed to step up
Lacey 6.5 Still looks classy (edited from 7.5)
Turner 3 Three for goals conceded, liability
Bagan 5.5 Position questioned for their first goal, though thought he put in a determined performance
Roberts 7 (edited from 8.0 )  Class free kick, offers will be coming in
Rose 6.5 Thought Rose put in one of his better performances
Doyle 4 Below par, legs gone on a large Wembley pitch
O'Brien 4.5 Outshone
Wootton  5 Stood up but close control let him down at times, no real goal threat
Dennis 6 Thought he was unlucky to be subbed at h/t. Looked lively

Enzio 5 Needed him to step up, one good rising shot which should have been on target. Body language when he loses the ball says it all
Thomas 5.5 won free kick for Notts goal, no real threat

Kelly Evans too late on to score a rating

😮 Mitch Rose for me played very poorly, someone who could have been replaced before the end of the first half.

I need to think about it a little more, but Rose for me, honestly was the worst player on the pitch. Ben Turner wasn't great but the midfield didn't defend. It reminded me of the defence which got us relegated into the National League in the first place. That said, Turner wasn't much better than Rose.

It was such a disappointing performance. Credit to Harrogate, they had a plan and it worked to perfection.

Slocombe 6 Hard to pick fault with him.
Brindley 4 Panicky when pressed. Poor marking and tracking. When your man is running across the line like that, you either make sure your CB knows he's coming, or you track him yourself. I think Brindley did neither.

Lacey 6 - Part fault for the goal above, as I can't determine if it was his fault or Brindley's.
Turner 0 - That performance was terrible. He is too slow, both in reaction time and running speed. Harrogate knew this and exploited him.
Bagan 4 - I highlighted last week that he got away with a few things against Barnet, especially his positional sense. Harrogate exploited it this week. He will have a strong future in the game, but this area is lacking still.

Roberts 10 - He really is a class above. At times in the game it looked like it was Roberts v Harrogate. If only. We will get a nice profit from him, but that'll be his last game in the black and white of Notts.

Rose 5 - Athletic again, but can't pass to save his life. Gets caught too often.
Doyle 4 Harrogate stopped him playing his usual role. We couldn't adjust. Leggy.
O'Brien 4 Highlighted last week he was leggy. Was so again this week, Harrogate exposed him.
Wootton  6 Really held things up and bought people into the game. Not the worst performance in the world.
Dennis 6 Buzzing about.

Enzio 5 What to say - Enzio.
Thomas 7 Very lively, turned them around, should have been introduced sooner, perhaps on the left wing.

Ardley - 3 - 100% correct last week. 0% this week. Rather than continuing to do what he'd done well, i.e surprising a few with team selection based on opposition, like v Barrow and v Barnet, he stuck with the safe option, playing last weeks' team. It didn't work. At all. He tried to change it, but the damage was already done.

It really was a poor game from us. Still proud of the club, what we experienced last season and in the summer, to have a team in the play-off final of any league is remarkable. We have a good team that needs a few fresh legs to freshen it up, but nothing radical,  ready for a push for automatic next season.  COYP.

Decided I wouldn't bother with these because it's too painful, but now there's a topic here goes:

Slocombe 6 - no saves of note, but couldn't be faulted for their goals.
Brindley 5 - started slowly, and didn't speed up much.
Lacey 6 - nothing too bad, but only average.
Turner 5 - looked off the pace from the start.
Bagan 6 - a bit mixed, but a promising kid who will play above this level.
Roberts 6.5 -anonymous for large parts, but showed his quality with the goal and the shot that nearly got us level.
Rose 6.5* - competed well and played some of our best forward passes.
Doyle 6 - always available but his passing was generally poor.
O'Brien 5 - not often Jim has an off day, but today was one of them.
Wootton 6 - held the ball up well but no real goal threat.
Dennis 5 - one effort first half, but that was it.

Enzio 5.5 - started well but faded with the rest of the team.
Thomas 6 - looked livelier than Dennis when he came on.
Kelly-Evans 6  - did as much as could be expected in his short time on the pitch.

Really disappointing.  We started half asleep, and only woke up for 15 minutes after half time.  The best team definitely won, so congratulations to Harrogate.  On the positive side I think we have really good owners and the basis of a good squad at this level if we can retain most of the players.  The doubt I have is whether we have the right manager in place to make the most of the squad.

Slocombe 6 Lack of defence hindered his game!
Brindley 3. Never liked the player and today reinforced it totally.
Lacey 6 Quiet game for him. Overran a few times, but the best out of the back 5
Turner 3 Oh dear. Rawlinson will be fuming after being left out for that performance!
Bagan 5.5 Not the impact like last week and looked lost a few times, but overall ok.
Roberts 7.5 Superb free kick and tried menacing. If anything, tried too hard and was ball greedy for me.
Rose 3 Needs to be let go ASAP
Doyle 5 Thanks for the memories Doyle, but time to retire now I think.
O'Brien 4 Can we have last weeks JoB back please?
Wootton - 5.5 Held up the ball ok when needed. Not a lot to work off
Dennis 5 Not a lot to work with.

Enzio 5.5. Should have started. May have made them step back a bit.
Thomas 5 Gave a bit of energy to the front line for 15 minutes, then fizzled.

Kelly Evans not on long enough to mark.

Harking back to school days, with the question "Compare and contrast" and how different are @Elite_pieand @Feral Fox  @Chris  ratings over Rose? I have to go with my own initial thoughts, that Rose did put in at least a performance..though if the rumours are correct that he is being chased by EFL L1 clubs, then the thoughts need to go to see whether Bishop or O'Connor or a similar younger "King Pin" midfielder fulfills that role?

An interesting final comment by @Elite_pieover the manager's capabilities. The breaking of the best central defensive partnership  we have had for some time, Rawlinson and Lacey cost us in the end. This rests solely on Ardley's shoulders. Also too, the midfield was found wanting..Notts couldn't match the fitness and pressing game of the Harrogate players..and their free kick deliveries around the box (though some questionable ref decisions for fouls seem to go against us)

The failure by Doyle and co to close down Stead, to make that incisive pass that led to Harrogate's third, still rankles.

The lock down has allowed me to see some Premier League matches for the full 90 minutes. Southampton's energy against Manchester City was so evident. The movement to hunt down the ball..Harrogate had that in abundance. The ability to block shots too...anyone else think a sliding block by Turner would have prevented the first goal, as he tamely stood up and let the guy get his shot in?

Final thoughts, may have over rated Lacey and Roberts scores in hindsight.. I would say 6.5 and 7 ; perhaps my gut feeling of wanting them to stay overruled my initial thoughts

I'm going to go with @Piethagoram @Elite_pie on this one, I too thought Rose was better then Doyle and O'Brien. It simply just didn't work with O'Brien on the wing this time and I thought the game just passed Doyle by too much. Rose covered more ground and at least tried to have a more positive influence on the game.

I agree with pretty much your ratings as well, I thought Wootton did well, especially when most the time the service we were giving him was all over the place. He was having to sprint to win headers and bring balls down with a CB always right on him, shame we couldn't get a bit closer to profit from him.

I think Rose tends to be underrated because his main attribute is doing the 'dirty work' in midfield.  By that I mean winning tackles and headers and stopping the opposition playing.  It won't get you on the edge of your seat, but it's something all teams need and I thought he fulfilled his role adequately yesterday, which few others managed to do.  His passing can be poor and he is sometimes indecisive when on the ball, but if he leaves us I predict it will be to go to a higher rather than lower level.
