  10. I thought the game was very pleasing. Notts started very brightly and passed the ball around well. Very early on, Notts pressed and made chances which showed signs that we would score, hitting the post and Macaulay Langstaff getting close were two very close moments. David McGoldrick's strike for his opening goal was superb. The way he picked his place and controlled the ball, it shows he's a threat within those positions. I believed he worked relentlessly to propel us forward. While it was pleasing to witness Notts playing the ball with more forward and sideways passes, I think the occasions we played it back instilled confidence throughout the entire squad. When we can move the ball around promptly, it makes the opposition chase the game and that leads to things opening up. Although none of the occurrences were detrimental or hindered our progress, I believe that Notts sometimes resorts to playing those backward passes simply because it is the most convenient option available. The way we moved and made Tranmere look extremely average, they didn't really cause much trouble and their defence didn't look like it could hold. Very poor in that regard, but they were quick on the break and at times looked very lively. I am sure their performances will pick up, thankfully for us Notts dominated from start to finish. The second half really became routine, with the game being in our hands, and really we should have pushed for a 3rd goal. So many good chances, it's difficult to say that I feel we should have made sure a third went in when the level of creativity made it very much possible, but we just lacked that luck to make it anything more. I am not bothered about their goal, it was a very good finish and again, I feel Aidan Stone deserved a clean sheet.
  11. I can see the game unfolding with Notts taking the lead, only for Tranmere Rovers to equalise. However, in the second half I can see two more goals being scored for us. My prediction is: 3-1. Macaualay Langstaff, Sam Austin, and David McGoldrick are all expected to find the back of the net. Connor Jennings will secure the sole goal for them.
  12. For sure, we do have a very good team. I will be offloading things when I get a little more in the swing of things, the content before can be written by various contributors. It's about getting the flow right, then putting extensive paper work on the virtual desks of others and of course, getting deadlines for opinion pieces. I do get time to myself, so don't worry. I meant it more in the sense I could probably pop over most days, and nock some of his electric. In all seriousness, I did plan to do this way back, before things changed...
  13. It will be interesting to keep this discussion going over the course of the season, drawing back to points in which we have already mentioned. It will be a good source to see how things truly reflect say by 12 games in. As it does look like we are progressing very well right now. Luke Williams and the squad, just need to handle any potential set backs.
  14. Technically, I wasn't. Arnold Rimmer, to put it mildly, embodies the endearingly klutzy nature of Frank Spencer, albeit in a more subdued manner.
  15. I quite like Red Dwarf, @cheeky~k8 is into it and when we first had our JellyFin setup - this was one of the TV series that we would watch. When they came back and started making it again, I was very happy with that. It's something you can't take too seriously, but it's funny. All the cast play off each other well. I do have to say I am surprised @Fan of Big Tone is recommending it, mostly because of his comment about "Some Mothers Do 'Av 'Em". Red Dwarf can be very slapstick, but it's very funny.
  16. Ideally, a CB would come in. I think the defensive midfield position is fine; I can't see us struggling to find someone to play this position or someone who can do it well. What would make a stronger defence, a defender like Mark Ellis or Mike Edwards in my opinion.
  17. I'll be at Meadow Lane tomorrow watching Notts, Sunday, I really must go over to see @super_ram. I may start taking my laptop at times, so I can still do things as we chat. It's nice to have that down time but I would find a lot more time if I were still able to do things. It's like I don't have a life outside of this, but there is a level of attention required. I still haven't had a walk with my brother for awhile, but hopefully we can sort something.
  18. You are welcome; I am happy to help when and where I can.
  19. Stories like this are always a good read until something goes wrong, Red Bulls targeting of clubs that they can invest in and turn around their fortunes almost comes across as brainwashing true supporters with promises of glory. I think it's RB Leipzig where some of the original supporters still don't like the rebranding of the club. I echo the sentiments that there's zero need for "Red Bull" to be put into the club's name, it's just their PR trick. Imagine if we became Red Bull Notts County, those fans who just accept it, I can't imagine would really care about the club, or it's history. It's fine with Red Bull owning clubs, but it is concerning how they have two teams in Europe and are expending into other countries. It makes you wonder what the real motives are.
  20. @Piethagoram Could the EFL bring in something which is binding legally, that means they can take the money required and if the owner doesn't have it, the EFL could take ownership of the assets involved with the club? A bit like houses which landlords refuse to keep up to standard or just neglect. I don't know, it's not a good thing for Morecambe.
  21. I didn't like how their fans acted towards us last season; I thought they were pretty ignorant, but I wouldn't wish them harm. I hate reading about teams struggling, and although we have touched upon previous issues of theirs, I will always wish them well. As in football, most clubs have been where they are and it's not nice. I won't even say that the situation is a wake-up call for them, as it's not, and it's the fans who always suffer. I hope they can overcome it, but it seems slimmer and slimmer. Their current owner sounds like a right kn**. Karma will get him eventually, there's no way it won't.
  22. Coventry City 1-1 Sunderland Millwall 1-3 Stoke City Joker Exeter City 0-1 Reading Lincoln City 0-0 Blackpool Bradford City 2-0 Crewe Alexandra Walsall 1-2 Grimsby Town Boreham Wood 1-0 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Kidderminster Harriers
  23. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Sir Magpie. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  24. Kristian Dennis and Kane Hemmings return to Meadow Lane. I don't know if both of them are available, but we most certainly know they are a threat. When we had the pair, neither really played together and that always seemed like a wasted opportunity to me. For some reason, Hemmings wouldn't always be played as striker, which was even more baffling. Dennis went in and out of favour at the club, quicker than Harry Kewell's departure. Yet, I always felt they had potential as a pairing. Tranmere Rovers can't be underestimated, but I feel happier knowing that we are at Meadow Lane. Yet there's that potential threat that they may play us in such a way, where they want to start their season and change how it has begun. They started off very much identical to us, but we have picked up, and their time isn't going to be far away. So, I would like to see us play the ball out calmly from the back. Notts needs to be defensive minded that they have players who can force mistakes, so we shouldn't make it easier for them by making poor decisions when we pass. Our strengths have to be used and that for me is the quality we have in midfield. If we can pass the ball around productively, taking any sting out of Tranmere's play. I think we should be fine to create chances which could lead to goals, as I say being at Meadow Lane for me is a positive. I would feel a lot more nervous if this were an away game, thankfully for us and Luke Williams we are at Meadow Lane. Our support could be vital in making this a three pointer.
  25. Jake Cassidy He most certainly played for Tranmere Rovers.
