Match Discussion: Game 19 - The Shrimps (A)
Morecambe could surprise me and play attacking minded football, yet I suspect a scrappy physical team tomorrow. I hope Notts have done their home work. Games are lost on the day but not completely outplayed, if Chettle is as talented as some people claim - he won't find this hard. If he is a good coach, then he will know what exactly needs doing.

Match Discussion: Game 19 - The Shrimps (A)
@ivansneck It's automated, I need to amend this but I've been busy as of late with many different things. ???? I don't expect anything from the game either, I feel Steve Chettle needs a solid plan leading into the game. IF Paul Hart is having a say on things, then he should be aware how to break a team down like Morecambe. We need to be physical back, smart and mindful about picking up cards. Play the ball down when we can, keep it in the air to win ground - from the back I don't care if Notts hoofs it to the midfield but they need to pass it. My worries is that whoever is making the tactical decisions, they don't think outside of the box. Cheltenham should never have battered Notts, the tactics and lack of game plan allowed it to happen. It made it easy, Saturday we need to work well and make it harder.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Robins (H)
Notts played okay until they scored, it wasn't terrible until then. Enzio Boldewijn and Kristian Dennis worked well. The issue was the defence, Jamie Turley is no right back and the partnership in CB was terrible. Turley should have played there.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Robins (H)
One striker? Enzio Boldewijn floating around? It's never going to work. Enzio I'd clearly a winger and he did okay but he needs to be disciplined. Roaming doesn't suit him at all. The midfield wasn't very good, defensive Notts was deep and the engine never got going. First goal stung Notts, second goal finished us off. The players was never going to respond, let's not blame them and can we focus on supporting the next manager.
-
Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Robins (H)
As the game builds I hope fans in attendance will be mindful and supportive, if the players don't perform well - it's something that must be accepted. The clubs without a manager and no blame should fall on Steve Chettle. I just don't want to go and regret doing so because morons decide to be abusive or negative. It's been thankfully unlike this but sometimes some are quick near to where I sit to forget about certain things, the game won't be easy but we could do well. Forget about the previous scores, results and our league position. Go out and stick to a game plan and try to impress.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Robins (H)
Who took charge against Doncaster Rovers tonight? Paul Hart?? I wouldn't rush to make an appointment, especially leading up to a game - they tend to sit them out anyway. I would like to see whoever took charge in the EFL Cup game and see if they can spark some revival. It's important Notts gets on with the task, it's a game I could see us winning but at the moment I am a little unsure.

Doncaster Rovers ah? well this will be exciting even for such a tin pot cup.

Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Tykes (A)
Jake informed me whilst we on our way to see my mum, he said then it was 2-0. I'm not bothered, a good cup run would have been nice but I didn't expect win because we have no momentum right now.

Match Discussion: Game 13 - Latics (H)
Pretty big game with the poor form as of late, it's one I can't see how the current performance could possibly improve from even if we are playing at home. It's just one of those matches I think some fans will feel Oldham are for the taking and then are lead to believe it will be easy. Notts will probably only make it harder on themselves.
-
Match Discussion: Game 17 - The Valiants (A)
I have a bad feeling about the game, I just can't see how anything positive can come from it and those games some think Notts will smash seem to be the ones the team most struggle to play. I honestly feel at this stage for Harry Kewell it's all about his understanding and preparation. I have noticed he's not banging on about the match fitness, as we can see that it's lifted - no the pressures back on him it's all down to the players and 'laziness'. Well I think we have to focus on being much stronger but the game plan should be very simply, the squad selection should represent those who are willing to take instructions and do whatever it takes to get a positive result. If 'some' are letting the team down, give someone else a chance. We can't be a one trick pony!

Match Discussion: Game 16 - The Robins (H)
Swindon Town won't be an easy game but it's a good thing that we play them at home, I do believe this gives us an advantage and hopefully a good performance will ensure that a decent result will come. I will be checking for score updates, no doubt @Magic magpie will help with that.
-
Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Dons (A)
Disappointed but I expected the loss, Jamie Turley will be a big loss but I am certain the squad will bounce back. It's not a good result but let's stay focused.

Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Dons (A)
Erm, just shut up now and void another loss back to back. This can we can be excited has quickly change after losing 4-0 to Bury! Notts just need to stay grounded and focused. Undo this past mistake at all cost.
-
Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Shakers (A)
Can someone tell me what happened? I had a text from @Magic magpie saying we was losing 1-0, then the final score is 4-0. It sounds bad, I'm curious if it's the defence/keeper or a combination of several things. It's a disappointing result.
-
Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Shakers (A)
A draw wouldn't be a bad thing at all. The main thing is to continue moving forward but there's no doubt the games winnable. I keep saying that we should fear any team in League Two, as the squads more than capable of playing well.

Match Discussion: Game 14 - The Shakers (A)
I think it's going to be a difficult game, I don't expect Bury to try to overpower us or play that direct. From what I have seen they'll most likely try to counter but defensively they seem woeful. Now if I was Harry Kewell I would be working out ways I can use this to my advantage, set pieces seems to make them wobble - especially corners. They just seem to nap when it matters, however they can score and I think Notts must try to score within the first half if they want to get anything from the game. I could easily see this ending up as a draw.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Magpies (H)
I still don't have any interest in this competition, I hope for Notts' sake that they can get a win because it does breed confidence but otherwise I don't care.

Faces of PON: Notts County fans witness third win in a row at Macclesfield Town
Notts County's dreadful start to the season now feels an age away. Three wins in a row and five games unbeaten now has the Magpies up in 17th place in the League Two table, four points clear of the bottom two, a superb turnaround given they were bottom of the table on just one point a month ago. The latest victory is also County's first win away from home this season as Macclesfield Town, themselves still struggling and currently at the foot of the league, were beaten 1-0 at Moss Rose. Late on in the game, Macclesfield centre-back Fiacre Kelleher gifted possession to Enzio Boldewijn, who bore down on goal, where keeper Kieran O'Hara committed a foul that yielded a penalty. The spot kick still had to be put away but the experienced Jon Stead duly sent O'Hara the wrong way eight minutes from time for their first three-point haul on the road. Pride of Nottingham was at Moss Rose to watch Harry Kewell's side go from strength to strength - see if you've made it into this week's Faces of PON! Tactical Talk: Notts County lacklustre despite beating Macclesfield Town
Was the result fair? I think a draw would have been the fairer result for the two teams, however at the same time I feel Notts should have had not just the one penalty that Jon Stead scored but another for the foul on him that resulted in Jon being hurled into the advertising board. How did Notts play? Very poor, they had no real movement and only two or three players were on the same wavelength β this would always make getting a result harder. I just felt like Notts played to take the point, as they invited Macclesfield to press them and just dealt with clearing the threat. Upfront I donβt think Notts would have scored without the penalty despite Kane Hemmings wasting two perfectly good chances. Winning poor is much better than losing having played well, yet the performance was disconnected. How did Macclesfield Town play? First half I felt they were lively, it was almost like they had seen my scouting report and had decided to prove a point. They moved around well, created space but often wasted the chances they had by rushing the finishing. Ross Fitzsimons only had basic saves to make in the first half but Macclesfield did pressure Notts. Defensively, I canβt give them much credit because of how they man handled most of the Notts players and reacted like they had been bullied over simple fouls on them. Itβs not hard to understand why theyβre bottom of the League Two table, poor in most departments and just very scrappy football with no clear indication to any sort of proper game plan. Did our tactics work out? If Harry Kewellβs aim was to grab a win by being too defensive, I could say it did but I donβt feel either team had any sort of tactics. The decision to place Shaun Brisley in midfield was an odd one, I do feel it impacted the passing and grit from holding the midfield. Did the tactics work? We came back with all three points, I would argue no but the points at this time are what matters. How did the referee perform? Poor, he gave Notts fouls for much less than half of the challenges he missed. It really had me baffled but I do feel all the officials were poor. There was a home team advantage clear from where I watched, I do feel the referee ruined the game somewhat but again I come back to those much needed three points. He awarded the penalty after missing one, so Iβll forgive this time. Who do we play next? Bury away is the next league fixture, it should prove to be a better game for spectators to watch. A win and Notts could be only 3 points behind them, after the start to the season this campaign it seems weird to think we are pushing for 11th place and higher. How should we play them? Notts should avoid being too defensive in my opinion, I just donβt think this would give any sort of edge and I do feel it would again impact the performance. At the same time, I donβt feel attacking too much would be the wise call, so a balanced performance does seem to be the right focus. The midfield will always be the key to getting a good result and allowing them to play with confidence should be the goal. Putting aside the scrappy performance again Macclesfield, I do feel that if the midfield holds the game and dictate the play β it will allow Notts to put on a good show against Bury. More importantly I do feel a win is possible if we go out to prove a point by playing good passing football. Match Discussion: Game 12 - The Silkmen (A)
Not a good game but a great result, we'll take it and build further. Neither side looked 'good' but I do feel Macclesfield looked more lively, as I mentioned in my scouting report - they panic and if they took a little bit longer to decent how best to finish chances. Well, I think they could have caused us more trouble. Notts was very flat though, there was no signs of a game plan and I say this not to be negative but to give my honest opinion of the game. The usual players that 'lift' us, well they wasn't in the zone and I can't blame them for all the minutes they've put in. I would have taken Jon Stead off today, he wasn't coping and he looked unable to cause trouble. Instead of bringing on Nathan Thomas, I would have taken Stead off and introduced Kristian Dennis. Also, Shaun Brisley should have gone off sooner - he gets a lot of stick these days but he did struggle to be effective. Harry Kewell didn't seem to understand how to plan Macclesfield or how to change the tactics to get us going, however it's three massive points on the road and a fantastic win.
