  1. To say, where we came from and where we've gone since stepping into the National League - I think it shows how quickly the club has made use of hitting the reset button. A hard reset was necessary, and while I understand that some of our fans may have thought we would fail without gaining promotion in our first season due to the Reedyz brothers' takeover, I believe those expectations were unrealistic. In principle, they would need time and having money doesn't guarantee a quick turnaround. We would have definitely been better off spending four seasons at this level than trying anything that Ray Trew or Alan Hardy attempted to put together. They both failed to build any long term foundations or, legacies.
  2. There's an element of people overlooking black managers, but I don't think it's down to racism most of the time. A lot of ex footballers like Paul Ince and Sol Campbell do live off their reputation. I must give credit to Sol for his attempt to break into the lower tiers of football. However, I recall him expressing his frustration about being overlooked by Premier League/Championship teams and attributing it to the colour of his skin. Personally, I think Gifton Noel Williams has done what many won't and stepped to a level that is willing to give him a chance. Hopefully, he continues to build a name for himself because I really don't think most clubs operate as with hidden agendas.
  3. @Fan of Big Tone, you have nothing to be sorry for. It's all in the past and each of us bear our own crosses. I felt incredibly thankful that you posted your message, on my mum's memorial. It came out of the blue, gave us some comfort. I'm glad you are back, I've been joking about re-signing old members, in an attempt to pull together. You would be like Tommy Lawton signing for Notts, you've been missed my friend.
  4. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! I feel a bit disappointed by the Nottingham City Council, but then I do wonder why we can't hold something which is more planned. I hate that Alan Hardy has come forward offering to pay, so we can all gather in the city centre. I don't really care for that, the Navi or ground would be better. I know the pitch is undergoing work, but there are options within the suites. Then again, I suppose the club wouldn't have stock of drinks at this stage. All the imagery I have seen has been deserved, I am thankful fans got to have their time with the players.
  5. I hope Tiernan Brooks gets more playing time next season. He seems like a talented goalkeeper. If Sam Slocombe gets released due to his hip issues, I think it would be best to prioritize experience when looking for a replacement. It's been an incredible season, where two keepers filled in without any disappointment. As for the playoff final, Archie Mair has placed his name into the history books, and we have him to thank for promotion. Without his saves, it would've been a lot more stressful.
  6. It is said that their manager now has a bigger budget to advance from the National League. This league appears to be more average since us and Wrexham are no longer part of it. I think they will have plenty of regrets, they played well in the first half and should've sealed their chances then. They pushed us back in the second half, but failed to hold onto the lead for a second time. I think in this situation, having lost on penalties Notts would have regrets. It's just something you say to the media to mask your upset, as a means to avoid causing negativity within the fanbase ahead of a new season.
  7. @super_pie told me, I just laughed, and he's amazed that nobody has caught on. Thank god, Ross Fitzsimons doesn't put the effort in as the likes of Ben Foster do because it would've been saved and not missed. I'm not bothered that John missed his penalty.
  8. I think Ryan is great, but I was hoping that his purchase of Wrexham would have a greater effect. Yet, I feel he's bridged the two fanbases together through his positive attitude that reflects well on football.
  9. I doubt Luke Willimas will leave or want to leave, I also believe the board would put up more of a fight to retain him. Personally, there's a lesson to be learned from Ian Burchnall's departure. He moved to a lower-ranking team that often struggled and blamed the fans for his departure. This was after they had given him the opportunity to have a successful career in England. Then again, I don't believe he would've taken us up in the manner of which Luke Williams has. This said, there's still things to be learned. Reading aren't Forest Green Rovers, but could struggle with a new manager who would need to make an instant impact on the players and fans. Honestly, I don't see him leaving anytime soon.
  10. We need a centre back with pace, hopefully someone who can play as the left wing back too. Up top, we could do with another option, counting on three forwards would be a bit risky in League Two - especially with all the cup games that will be there. I strongly believe that acquiring Jodi Jones would provide excellent cover in the forward position. He can either side of the flank and can play behind the strikers. I think we need another midfielder, especially if Jim O'Brien retires. I hope he doesn't, as I have a lot of respect for him, and feel it would befit to see his career come full circle at Notts' he's been a very loyal player for Notts. Also, if Ed Francis leaves, it would need to see strength. In my opinion, Frank Vincent is likely to stick around. I would like to see a couple of youth team players be added for depth, which is a reason we plan to include them if we needed to call upon them. At the most, Notts only needs to sign 5 players, at least 3. As I say, now is the time to excel our youth team players and give faith to them. If they're not good enough, the club should stop offering pro deals as it's just a waste of time. If there's a general belief that they can come good, then I am fine with it. In fact, I want to see youth players getting more than a handful of games otherwise they won't progress with us.

  12. Notts County’s victory over Chesterfield at Wembley was a special moment for fans of the club. Although they began the game feeling very anxious and struggled to handle Chesterfield, who was a fast and aggressive opponent, the team managed to keep the score at 1-0 and gradually gained momentum. Luke Williams made the right call taking off Adam Chicksen, who didn’t have the best of games. Jodi Jones proved to be more effective and switching him from the left to the right gave the team more edge going forward. Chesterfield faced a dilemma when they had to assign a new player to mark Aaron Nemane, consequently granting Jodi Jones a valuable window of opportunity to exert his influence on the game. It was crucial that Notts didn't lose their spirit and determination. This helped them stay in the game and remain focused on their goal. This shows that they are a strong and resilient team, and their efforts should be applauded. Notts' tenacity was a key factor in their success. John Bostock stood near the centre of the pitch throwing his arms up as if to say to the lads, ‘come on, we’ve got this - don’t let your heads drop’. This proved to be something that allowed the Magpies to stay in the game. During the extra time period, Notts exhibited superior performance compared to Chesterfield. The game could have gone either way still, but the better chances came to Notts who kept knocking on the door and forced Chesterfield to defend. In the 80th minute, it was clear that Chesterfield players were becoming exhausted, leaving them vulnerable to the attacks of Jodi Jones and Aaron Nemane. It was inevitable that running at them would lead to trouble. One player who really found himself during the game was Aaron Nemane. He played outstandingly, taking on Chesterfield despite little support and in turn taking the pressure off the rest of the squad. John Bostock’s strong presence in midfield also made it harder for The Spireites to bully the midfield. His ability to stand up, win the ball back and use his strength to hold play helped to bring other players up to speed and reduce their nervousness. Matt Palmer also showed his class by completing passes and moving into areas where he could creatively get the team into creative pockets. His passing, especially through the lines, linked up well with Aaron Nemane and Jodi Jones once he came on. It was truly heart-warming to witness the players' joyous reaction upon seeing their club earn a promotion. Equally, pleasing was hearing Luke Williams express his gratitude towards everyone who had contributed towards the team's success leading up to the game. Overall, it was a delightful experience that left a lasting impact. From Tom Weal with preparing the keepers, to giving advice on the players when it came to practising taking penalties. Williams spoke highly of how he turned the focus from off himself to former managers who he credited for starting the journey. It was just a sign of class from the gaffer when he spoke so freely about others with his warm smile. The club’s return to the Football League is a significant achievement and one that brings a sense of pride and belonging to fans. Many feared for the future of the Magpies following their relegation in 2018/2019, but thanks to the contributions made by Christoffer Reedtz, Alexander Reedtz, and Jason Turner, the club has flourished. One of the biggest transformations has been in the club’s approach to recruitment. Notts County has been signing some of the best free agents from teams around them while also bringing in robust midfielders such as Matt Palmer. The hiring of Luke Williams as manager has also proven to be a master-stroke. The future looks bright for Notts County. With a talented squad and an upcoming manager, there’s no reason why the club can’t adapt well to life in League Two and push for promotion again. Retaining key players and adding further quality will be important in achieving this goal.
