  1. I think it's a good decision and chance for Jon Stead; I have no doubt he can be a good coach. I wished his time here had ended better. He gave the impression that he was always annoyed and wanted to leave. I don't think being pals with Kevin Nolan helped, but good luck to him in his new role.
  2. It's difficult since COVID; I find myself quite anxious, and I struggle a lot. It depends on the situation, but last season I took a more relaxed approach. My friend Mark and his partner Katrina attended games; he gives me a lift, and it helps, as before I used to rely on public transport. We tend to have something to eat before, @super_pie loves having Burger King, KFC, and Subway right near the ground. After we have something to eat, we walk to the ground, and I try to see if I can notice anyone. I try to say hello, as I feel rude if I go past people, but again, since COVID, it's not always very easy, especially with large amounts of people. If we pop in the club shop, usually it's just to see what sales are on, etc. After that, we go to the Magpie Brewery for a drink and await the grounds opening. When I take photos, I always try to sit at the front and soak up some of the atmosphere. I miss knowing where friends and regulars would sit, as in recent years people have moved around and it's more spread out. I love the atmosphere when everyone comes in spirit, and it can massively help if Notts doesn't play all that well. Though I would say football is generally good to watch from a tactical point of view, even if the performances are off. I love away games due to the togetherness we have amongst ourselves, and when this vibe is present at Meadow Lane, it is brilliant.
  3. I sit in the KOP; I don't plan on moving, but with it becoming busier, I am seeing fans I speak to regularly making a transition into the family stand. I've sat in every stand over the years. My grandfather, Ray, would take me to games when I was younger. Mostly those days were in the Pavis Stand, and being a kid, I always wanted to sit high up. After he died, I didn't attend for a while, but when I went back, it was again in the Pavis. I never really liked it; nobody really spoke, and I would sing, and my children would join in with the chants. We moved to the KOP and haven't looked back. I spent a few months in the Family Stand when I dislocated my knee, which I enjoyed, and managed to get other fans to join in making an atmosphere, but I was keen to get back to the KOP.
  4. Some members might not have experienced it; it depends on their tunnelling and where each connection reaches their global network. I just did a quick Google, and no end of people are complaining about much longer times, so we're lucky.
  5. If you experienced PON going offline briefly a second ago, the issue is with Cloudflare and them reaching our server. It only lasted for a few minutes, very intermittent, but a lot of people have been complaining lately about CF. This is the first time I have noticed it. It's nothing to worry about, it's partly due to infrastructure changes at their end.
  6. Hello, @Oliver Reedtz. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. Would you care to tell us a little bit about yourself? Such as your background supporting Notts (if you do) and what made you decide to join us. I do hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  7. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself, @Aw Saint. In the early to mid-90s, my mum was a self-employed machinist and she worked on a lot of Scottish club shirts, before everything was produced in Asia. One of them was St Mirren. She wasn't allowed to keep off-cuts, though I remember seeing the colours and getting excited about it being the same as Notts. I believe this was the one I recall. As @liampie said, you will have a good trip to Nottingham and our fans are very friendly. Thanks for joining us, I look forward to hearing about your trip, and potential thoughts on some vital three points. 🤞
  8. @super_ram, am I right about my memory of Mum then? The moment I saw the image, I remembered a few memories of when I was younger and we would come to see you whilst at work. I remember always being told not to go too far ahead.
  9. I wondered what everyone else's opinions were on which of David McGoldrick's goals from his time back at Notts which goal was the best team-wise and individually from the brilliance that is Didzy.
  10. PON is experiencing some issues with the topics styling. Please be assured that this is known and will be resolved ASAP. I am currently focusing on the dashboard. If you have any suggestions regarding any aspects, please do let me know.
  11. It's good that he recognises that it's down to individuals, and not something you can pull from a book. So, much of my own journey with hEDS has been physios telling me what suits others, and ultimately I think I would be worse off if I didn't find out what works for me. For guidance, I can understand why textbooks are useful, but to have someone who doesn't rely on them for all the answers is a very good thing. I would hope he can be around for the long haul. If his work does make a difference, it sounds like a crucial step forward.
  12. Some more work needs to be done on the site, which the focus is largely on the dashboard. There's a small update, and a bug with the topics styling. This will be looked into ASAP, it seems to be related to the main theme. My friends that I go to games with have asked if I want to go to the Alfreton friendly. However, Jake already stated to me, as I suspected, that our annual visit to play them would be arranged again. He doesn't want to go, though I have been asked to see if he would change his mind. Not much else to add right now, but I might have some updates later on. What is everyone else up to today? I hope those who are at work are able to keep cool. It's quite humid here.
  13. Hello, @Aw Saint. Interesting choice of username! Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  14. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Steve Harvey. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community. See you around the site!
  15. @Piethagoram, when did the change occur? The first picture rings a bell, and I have a vague memory of going to see @super_ram at work. I might have my bearings mistaken, though. Does anyone remember Broadmarsh having an upstairs above where Argos used to be, and the BHS? Nobody seems to remember this, but again, I have a memory of being with my grandparents where they went to buy a Game Boy game for me. I have a vivid recollection of it, yet it's said that only one end featured an upstairs. I could have sworn it did. I know this part, and it looks vastly different now.
  16. The Beach Boys were a regular played towards the weekend once school was finished when I was younger. We would play quiz games, darts and other things whilst various popular music of my parents was on in the background. Their music was always on the brighter side, which is something I liked. Out of all the songs, such as "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Kokomo", "Surfin' USA", "California Girls", etc. It's God Only Knows, which I tend to reflect on. The intro just has something about it. Rest in Peace, Brian Wilson.
  17. As you will know, there are various resources that are custom to PON and some are third-party. I am pleased to say, our news ticker has returned. This is an early version with some known bugs, but the dev is working hard to release a future update to fix the issue. There is still plenty to be done to finalise our recent upgrade, but I am very keen to complete our dashboard page from here. Please do let me know your thoughts.
  18. Hello, @Warrenpie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I am very pleased to see you have joined us, and I really hope you like being a part of our Notts County community. Feel free to reach out if you need any help, and I hope to see your thoughts in our discussions.
  19. I hope the games are live streamed, there's zero chance I will be able to get to them but would like to watch. I am sure Notts are considering this, so if you are lucky enough to make it. Make sure to relish the experience of watching Notts on their tour in Germany! @Piethagoram: If you make both arranged games, I hope to see some of your photography. 😁
  20. Hello, @Sheffield Pie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community. If you are the same Sheffield Pie, as @SheffieldPie - Feel free to let me know, and I'll merge your accounts.

  22. I used to love gardening. I do sometimes help out with my dad's garden, but I don't do much for my own now. I got my front and back garden into what is fairly easy to maintain, and now my wife just takes care of the grass. She's planted some flowers, which looks nice in the front. I do miss gardening, but it's not as easy for me these days. I would melt in my front garden, I dug the whole front and back up to level it out many years ago. I struggled with the heat then.
  23. Someone is going to say, "It's a friendly" and that we didn't field our strongest team. Or, maybe that Senegal are a good team. From our perspective, we have to admit that was a poor, poor result. Senegal are always organised, and have a good level of discipline, but England really should be winning these types of games. I can't believe in the comments to the BBC's match report, people are saying things like this. There's some even saying we should sit the next World Cup out. 🤣 I can't really comment too much on Thomas Tuchel, but good league managers does not mean they will be good internationally. I hope for our sakes things improve, because we need to stick with the manager, we made our decision to hire Tuchel. Maybe it goes to show the remarkable work Gareth Southgate did, unless people still believe our nation's team is still the best it's been in decades. Oh, and can you think of a worse way to watch England lose than to be in the City Ground? It only gets more challenging for those who support Notts and were present.
  24. @BradtheMiller, he's one of the managers I'm discreetly wishing for, but not putting a lot of optimism as I don't expect him to come. Yet, I think he would be a superb choice. There's a few which tick the boxes for me, but Leam Richardson is one. It's nice to see you, matey.
  25. A bit more of a productive day for me, at least in terms of PON. The news coming in, it's starting to make me feel like the season is around the corner, instead of radio silence. Not that I think it's unnatural for the club to go quiet, in fact it's perfectly normal and means little. It certainly doesn't mean they are not busy making things happen, as it will be that reason why it has been quiet. It's also nice to have a bit of a laugh, and include banter. 😁 When I get a chance, I want to try to finish some coding stuff that I can do. Progress is being made, which is a good thing. No real news otherwise, c'mon and join in folks. Tell us about your day.
