Match Report: Clinical Walsall Edge Out Notts County in Thrilling 3-2 Encounter
Google, and Notts have it closer to 76%. So, I kept it rounded up.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Saddlers (A)
A lot of fans are saying we clearly missed Matty Platt, problem is we seemed to have crumbled upon conceding. Pleased that David McGoldrick scored the penalty, and now that Jack Hinchy has scored. 3-2 doesn't sound all that bad, but really we need to start making possession count. Walsall have shown us why an inform team can hold its own, when a team tries to control the game. I'm disappointed that we conceded 3 goals before scoring but pleased that we kept fighting. It's really a case of balancing this, and realising that we need to get to January to further improve. Heading in the right direction, but not the finished product yet.

League 2 Watch. 2024/25
Tonight's game is very important for Notts. The league is very wide open, with the top 4 fighting for first place. We're still in that fight, as are others, but games like today's could be where we make some ground up.

Pedro Richards
Over the years, I have heard many stories about Pedro Richards. He was a brilliant player, and a very good signing for Notts. At the time it wouldn't have been easy to be accepted in football due to the colour of his skin, but I am pleased that Notts offered him a home, which our fans took to him. Having seen various documentaries about racism in football, it makes me feel prouder of Notts and Pedro's achievements. We all bleed the same colour, but the fact that we were such an accepting club (which was only right). It makes this achievement something more than just a memory. We have been fortunate to have exceptional players in our history, such as Tristan Benjamin and Justin Fashanu. Pedro paved the way, and whilst there might have been some in the fan base back then less accepting, the majority took to the players for their ability and personality. It's a shame that Justin Fashanu's time at Notts tends to be overlooked, because I do recall seeing an interview where he spoke highly of the club for saving his career.

What are you Currently Watching?
@menzinho I have the bad habit of scrolling through Facebook's 'reels', and a behind the scenes look at Day of the Jackal showed. It looked interesting, as at first I thought it was going to be some Johnny Knoxville type prank but turned out to show glimpses of how the main character changed his identity. -- Yesterday, I watched Brian and Charles (2022) on Channel 4's on-demand app. It's different, somewhat strange but very well produced. There's some very funny moments; it's like a mock documentary about Brian who has a quirk for inventing things.

Leicester City appoint Van Nistelrooy
I really don't understand the sense of the appointment, it's not like he's earned a reputation as being a good manager in any other league, and it seems to be a very reckless appointment. If they wanted to give someone inexperienced the chance to shine, they should have tried to get Frank Lampard before he went to Coventry. It might have given them some chance to poach some good youngsters from Chelsea, instead of the other way around. Had they gone for Lampard, I would have laughed. Good luck to them against West Ham tonight, they'll be hoping the hammer doesn't fall on van Noodlehead.

Weekly Chat Mon 2nd - Sun 8th December
It's probably time that we plan another PON gathering, where we book an executive box again. I won't lie, I am looking forward to watching Notts in a nice and warm room. Even if I won't hear the game as well, I will still probably be as animated as always. ???? PS. We know you love Christmas, don't hide it. You've earned it. I actually forgot about the feature, plus that @Piethagoram had been awarded one for being the Member of the Month. I'm going to add more badges/awards. ---- Today, I am taking it easy. I had wanted to go to Walsall, but it's not worked out. I have things I can be doing though, so I will focus on them. There's not much else I can really add.

Junior Morias
The drop in level does seem to be where Junior Morias thrives, but I have always been a fan of his. His pace always seemed something we should have made use of; however, we never did. His finishing didn't seem that bad either; I just felt he needed time to settle and to be actually played. I don't see him returning to us; I fully expect him to leave when his contract expires. If there was any chance we could recall him, I would but considering the club will most likely look to strengthen our options up top - I think it would be unfair to bring him back when he's unlikely to get the game time he deserves. I don't believe it's fair to write Junior Morias off at League Two level, we haven't seen enough of him and the brief glimpses we did he performed well enough and scored. At 29, I do hope another League Two team gives him a shot because I think he would succeed.

FA Youth Cup 3rd Rd. Notts v Fulham
Agreed, there's no shame, and it was nice to see photos on my personal Facebook account of fans in attendance. Unfortunately, I wasn't there but will make sure to give my support to the youth team in the future. Fulham's calibre was always going to be difficult to play against, but very proud of our lads for being drawn against them.

Congratulations King Maynard

Ralph McClure, RIP
It's sad news, but his spirit will live on and in a way, at least he's no longer suffering. I couldn't imagine living with the illness he did; it's a scary thought. Rest in Peace, Ralph McClure.

Match Discussion: Game 18 - The Saddlers (A)
I think my prediction of Walsall doing well surprised people, considering how they had been quite iffy in previous seasons but know some of their fans - I could sense their optimism. I also don't think they had a bad side previously, but they have improved leaps and bounds this term. Defensively, Notts should be able to ask questions of them and if we persist, it could cause them a difficult time. Midfield and the up top is my concern in regard to their play, they have a good hard-working team in the middle of the park that can adapt to games when they don't have control. They do work hard to try to maintain it, and despite their heavy defeat to Charlton in the FA Cup we will still be on an even playing field. They might feel encouraged being at home, but I personally think if we defend robustly as we can and allow our midfield to do all the heavy work. Chances will come for Jatta or whoever starts up top; it will just be a case of taking them. My one fear is how Walsall can finish scrappy chances when present a glimmer of a chance on goal.

Weekly Chat Mon 2nd - Sun 8th December
@Robbie stick on 'Driving home for Christmas' and 'Stop the Cavalry'. Get into the spirit a little, Tone. You remind me of myself as I browse through stores. ???? I don't have any plans today, just working on site stuff as per usual. I am hoping to catch up with @super_ram, as soon as he arrives home. I had hoped to be able to go to Walsall, but it doesn't look likely with it being a Tuesday night. I also don't want to tempt fate, as I feel I have adjusted to the cold now (body wise) and have been feeling a lot better as of late. At the weekend, for the Colchester match - I'll be in an executive box thanks to my friend successfully hitting the crossbar. He's the same friend who has been dragging me out, and getting me to away games - so I really want him and his partner to enjoy the experience. Until the weekend, it's time to crack on. ????

Who is your Man of the match v Peterborough?
His performance really was a top-draw effort, one which continues to impress me just how his quality shines. Congratulations to George Abbott on a job well done! If my memory serves me this will be his third Pride of Nottingham Man of the Match of the season. And, he's even in the running for the Player of the Month for November!

Happy Birthday Neil Warnock
Happy Birthday, Neil Warnock! You've successfully graduated from being the grumpy uncle, to the disgruntled grandfather figure that has the tendency of being really naughty. Have a wonderful day! PS. I hope he managed to play some golf, and found some time to yell comments to a Sunday League referee.

Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Posh (A)
I am not all that disappointed to be honest, why? I thought Peterborough United were going to hammer us when they started. Their overlaying passes, which put them threw on goal, looked like something they could repeatedly due and this was clear before they scored. That just added as a bigger warning sign, but I thought that helped to calm the game down. Defensively, we adjusted well, and I wouldn't say the first goal was "poor" on our part because they played with a quick release. After they scored, I felt proud to see us adapt, get a grip of their movement and then go on to equalise so shortly after conceding. Going 2-1 up, it was proud to see, and I am delighted for Matty Platt. I thought he was a rock in defence (although with him coming off it is concerning). I don't think any of the starters played badly, Kellan Gordon put in some fantastic effort and his crosses always looked dangerous. Platt and Lewis Macari dominated our defensive line, showcasing remarkable courage with their impressive blocks and headers to effectively clear the ball. Yes, the substitutes changed the game. However, we need to keep in mind Tuesday coming up and how much Peterborough had made us work for the ball. They are a good team, you can see that, and we had to be clever to match them in terms of getting chances. There were times even before they scored their second, they were simply on top, and I do feel they would have scored even if we hadn't made 5 subs. However, I do acknowledge we still might have won. I think all that can be disregarded because we should be more proud. Some players got vital minutes, and I do think Stuart Maynard made the changes with the thought of Tuesday night and to give some of the other players game time in the FA Cup. I am delighted for George Abbott, he looked like one of the best players on the pitch. PS. I really didn't like seeing Peterborough's players warming up on the pitch, they shouldn't be on the field of play. 3 of their final goals, they had 1 or more players over the line, whilst they might not be interfering it's against the rules and very disrespectful. There was one time, we broke with Kellan Gordon and their player, Oscar Wallin had to quickly step off the pitch. It wasn't due to a lack of room, he was just using the actual pitch as his personal warm up area. The 4th official really should have noticed and told them to refrain from stepping over the line. Warm up off the pitch, not on it.

Who is your Man of the match v Peterborough?
Defensively, we were superb despite the goals we conceded. Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau especially, but I just thought George Abbott was class on the ball. He got stuck in with everything and put on a good display. I thought even Kellan Gordon put in a good shift, considering how inconsistent he can be - I thought he really stepped up today.

Weekly Chat Monday 25th Nov - Sunday 1st Dec
I started the day very brightly, and sorted things out ahead of time. Though, in the back of my mind I kept having the urge to go see @super_ram. He has a folding bed which a bolt broke, that prevented him from folding it out. I'm pleased that it's now fixed, I went over with @super_pie and, we sorted the problem very quickly. It was nice to spend a bit of time with him, whilst we fixed the chair/folding bed. When I came home, I were greeted with a very Christmas looking house. Which is nice, I have a tendency of feeling like the grinch since @GrannyPie parted (with Christmas day being her birthday). Yet, it's nice seeing the house dressed up for Christmas (we do for Halloween). I might at times slip into being the Grinch, but I am looking forward to it. We purchased two reefs to put down on her/my grandparents/aunts grave and one for Chloe. β€οΈ

Reviving Community Engagement via Newsletters
It will be a whole host of things, all depending on when they're being sent out. I am more than happy for members to contribute to the newsletter, so for anyone interested please just reach out to me and I will do my best to feature you. Going back to content, it will have guest columnists - this could be an ex player teasing features they have written with a bit more background to former staff, fans etc. There will be content promoted within the newsletters to promote articles, blogs, forum posts, wallpapers etc. Yet there will be a lot of content inside the newsletter, with mini previews, reflections and appeals for fans to get involved in various ways. Fortnighly is the plan, the outline of content is as mentioned above. I already have some good things lined up. I know I have said a couple of times that newsletters will return, but there were times I couldn't foresee personal stuff cropping up. Also, I am happy for members to take part. I am hopeful @DangerousSausage will add a quirky muse to the newsletter from time to time. Well, it would be hard to give a sneak preview to the Faces of PON, but I don't see any reason why some pictures couldn't feature within the newsletter - even if I just create a collage.

Coventry City Sack Mark Robins.
Sorry @super_ram, beforehand if this is something you disagree with. Frank Lampard only succeeded at Derby County at a point where their chairman was spending money, and wanting to buy young Premier League talent as a way to force themselves back into the Premier League. Mel Morris, seemed to start off with good intentions but quickly seemed to enjoy rubbing shoulders with the bigger players/clubs. He reminds me of Alan Hardy to some extent. Although, one I would say is Temu and the other Wish.com (Morris/Hardly). Lampard had good foundations at Derby, an ambitious club, and he managed to use his connections to bring in good players from Chelsea on loan. Jumping to Chelsea was the wrong decision, and that has impacted his career ever since. Everton seemed a sillier decision considering how they had dropped off since selling players like James RodrΓguez, and the downfall since it is largely due to Lampard being the wrong appointment. I can't see him succeeding at Coventry City, not even if he has his uncle Harry Rednapp on speed dial. I don't have any sympathy for him, he seems to choose clubs based on how desperate he is and how big of a club they are. He doesn't seem interested in working at a level where he could truly learn and improve over time. Being a good player doesn't make you a great manager. To some extent, I feel the same way about Steven Gerrard.

Arriving on BlueSky and update on PON socials
I might seem stubborn, but I would rather be followed by x amount of people who want to engage. Then, the x++ simply desires a follow back. BlueSky seems different, but it does anyone on Twitter (X) that you get people obsessed with numbers. You follow back, perhaps even engage, and then you are unfollowed. I tended to block and unfollow. With my personal account on BlueSky, I hope to share more on than I would on Twitter (X). As for PON, a smaller following can be better at first. On Facebook the page quietly broke 5,000 followers, and it's not something I tend to go on about. Milestones are fun, but I would rather focus on the content. BlueSky has motivated me towards stepping up a bit more. No chance, @super_pie has suggested this firstly as a joke but then as a more serious way of reaching younger fans. ???? I would rather put time towards getting the better media PON had back and on a constant basis, than to do short videos talking about Notts or attempting to start a viral 'Notts dance'.
