It's great to see Alassana Jatta back in the team and putting us 2-0 up so early. Also, I like that we are playing a squad that wouldn't be far from our starting XI. I assume, we'll still be making changes as each player does need to get some match fitness, but it's good to see that it's started off strongly. Jatta could be earning the number 9 shirt, although I would still give it to Cedwyn Scott. And both players are featuring together.

Queen's Walk always used to look like a nice place to wonder, but my Grandfather would say it was dangerous and occupied by certain people. There's some really nice areas to explore in Nottingham; there are a few places in the Meadows where I like to have walks.

Junior Morias impressed me when he had cameo appearances, it left me asking why we don't see him more but with the options we have it would always be difficult to feature him. Now, Macaulay Langstaff has departed it does present the chance where he could feature more - provided the club doesn't deem the void left needing to be filled. I think some of the criticism for Morias comes from him missing so much due to injuries (although I am dubious he was actually injured). We need more depth, I do hope that we don't rely on signing just trialists. It would be a smart choice to continue the strong recruitment, so we can add further quality and depth, with the trialist becoming signings of 'potential'. I don't want to use the term 'squad members' because I feel the way we are building, any player could get a chance to play. It's important we make the competition for first team places down to performances.

Oh wow, I would have loved that! The only time I would have caught using my phone, would be to snap pictures of the scenery and memories @Fan of Big Tone! It's typical teens these days, they're too glued to technology. I think it was Toton where @cheeky~k8 planned for us to go have a family day, there was an old steam train in service their that did a short track, but it was closed by time we found it. Around 2pm, but I recall seeing many old abandoned trains and information. I have never been on a steam train to my recollection, my grandfather Ray loved them and one of my favourite films is The Railway Children. Back on subject, It's nice to see Loughborough preserving this type of thing and trying to keep it going.

The thing about Junior Morias is he's very fast; when he has been given games this has caused teams to almost fear him getting the ball. Having a striker that can gain this type of attention can be a good thing, so hopefully he catches Stuart Maynards eyes more within the pre-season. Most fans will be curious about the trialists and players who might make an appearance before signing. Wycombe will be a good test for much of our squad, but the results aren't important and neither is the performance - it's not something you can reasonably rate. I do think on an individual level you can. It is also encouraging to see good play, but if it's inconsistent, which a lot of friendlies are, it's more a training exercise.

I had planned to go, but I still don't feel 100%. I'd rather sit back and see what fans have to say about the friendly. Alfreton makes for a good friendly game. They are a physical side, but one we should see plenty of the ball against. It'll be interesting to see if Cedwyn Scott plays as a striker. Stuart Maynard has mentioned in his pre-match interview that the game will be two mixed teams, which we are used to, but it sounds like some of the youngsters will be getting more game time. Which would allow those with slight niggles more time to recover.

It feels like the end of an era with the departure of Macaulay Langstaff. When he arrived, many fans were unsure of what to expect - myself included. Bringing in two players from Gateshead who had scored over 40 goals between them, it seemed like a dream come true. Eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the new duo, I remember feeling impressed by them in the friendly against Alfreton Town. Who would have known that Langstaff would go on to score over 42 goals, grabbing headlines alongside Erling Haaland and winning the hearts of Notts fans in the process? While we never truly forged the partnership between him and Scott, whenever the two did play together, you could see they had a perfectly good understanding of each other. Their first season with us in the National League played a significant part in Notts' bid to return to the Football League. Among all the league goals he scored, none was more important than the calm penalty he converted in front of thousands of fans at Wembley Stadium. The National League 2022-23 season is one I will remember until my final breath. The squad excelled and provided us fans with memories worth cherishing. Before the takeover brought the Reedtz brothers to our club, I thought the National League would have a severely negative impact on us. However, I couldn't have been more mistaken. In such a short time, it's amazing to see just how different the club feels and how match days at Meadow Lane now brim with pride within our fan base. Our return to the Football League was one hell of a rollercoaster. Going top of the league was a surreal moment, and while we couldn't maintain that position, it wasn't the worst season Notts could have had. In the early part, we genuinely looked like a team going places. It took Macaulay Langstaff some time to get going, but his goal away to Doncaster Rovers was one of the loudest eruptions of cheers I've heard for a while. Everything within the squad seemed promising. With Jodi Jones able to produce magic and Aaron Nemane with his direct trickery, the squad was always going to provide Langstaff with enough chances to continue his success. I was delighted when Langstaff was named the club's captain ahead of the 2024-25 League Two season, although I felt sorry for Kyle Cameron as I believe he led the club with pride during his captaincy. It was a positive step forward, giving such a fan favourite the captaincy - signalling the club's desire to hold onto him. While I am disappointed not to see Langstaff lead Notts out regularly, and saddened by his departure to Millwall, I am left with immense thankfulness and debt to one of the nicest players you could ever meet. Players like Langstaff are irreplaceable, but we trust that the club's recruitment will identify someone who can contribute effectively. If the transfer fee helps Notts return to League One, I will be more than content, even though I wish we could have secured another promotion with Macca leading our front line. I am encouraged by the fact we didn't lose out on a fee entirely. Millwall have secured a very good striker, and at 27-years-old, he deserves a chance in the second division of English football. During his short time at Notts, have we ever had someone who so perfectly embodied the striker we've always wanted? Langstaff will leave a legacy as a real goal machine, but on the other side of the coin, he leaves behind a genuine opportunity for his best friend, Cedwyn Scott, to pick up where he left off. I don't take things for granted at Notts. Many fans have shared this sentiment with me, and I trust that the club has considered the impact of Langstaff's departure. We are building a good squad, founded on the best talent the club has seen in years. Let's set aside the disappointment and focus on our bid for promotion to League One. It's harsh to write this, but I never rated him. He always looked uncomfortable when coping with having the ball, the times his passing sounded like someone blasting a ball - he just seemed underwhelming. I always hoped he would improve, as I am passionate about seeing youngsters do well. I think he showed signs of improving but his move, I never saw coming. It makes you wonder what Norwich sees in him, which we didn't. I do feel somewhat disappointed that bigger clubs see our youngsters in a better light, whereas we're afraid to play them. Some might disagree with me, but the only way you can improve and become ready for the first-team is to firstly gain match minutes and experience. Loaning young players is only a small part of this, for them to reach their potential they have to be in your own squad and around the first team more.

I have great admiration for Connell Rawlinson. His decision to work with Notts and to mutually agree on his release I believe allowed this to happen. I'm not sure that he would have been Chester bound otherwise. I really hope he can settle down, get himself on the team sheet and help Chester move forward. It's a great opportunity for him.

I thought he came with a fair amount of promise, he's one of those we signed too early in their careers. Well, in this case it was loaned too early. He's someone under our current owners, we might have signed once his loan deal had expired or near the end of it. Sam Stubbs has come quite far since his time here; I don't recall him being much of a stand-out player, but you could see he had potential. Fingers crossed, we can get the quality out of Lewis Macari this upcoming season.

Nuclear and solar power should be explored; Brazil has one of the best echo friendly setups for generating their power. 80% of their power is produced by a large hydropower plant. For such a nation, I think they're doing an amazing job to be at the front of this. We should be looking at replicating this sort of technology, even if it's on a smaller scale because any renewable energy is better than focusing on coal. Nuclear energy, it's something I am mindful of if it goes wrong and where it would be the safest to build. Yet I don't think you can pin the future on just one means of producing the energy needed, things change and having multiple options is never a bad thing.

@super_pie loved Kane Hemmings, a photo of them both remained his display picture for years. Hemmings was a good player for us, worked hard and got goals when he played/had the service. I don't know why we tended to push him to the left side of the pitch, because as a striker he was the most threatening. It's a good signing for Crewe, I wish him all the best (except against Notts, although it will be nice to see him again).

It's all very flexible, but I understand that not everyone will have time. Members and people outside the site are welcome to apply. I don't expect it to be easy to find people, but I do feel it important that anyone interested should apply. The primary focus is on the global moderators and writers. Yet each position would make a significant difference.

I'm very grateful to all the members who've kept PON updated during the off-season. When things are quiet, it's crucial to keep plugging away, and those interactions really count when it comes to the times when fans start getting excited about the upcoming season. With pre-season on the horizon, I'm putting in the graft to get everything back up to scratch, all the while making sure I'm organised so that we don't have a repeat in the future. We're still working on sprucing up the users' post area, which will bring in some handy information and show various details about a poster, like their age if they've got that enabled. Their post count, reputation and more. The post count will also show up on handheld devices, which is a nice touch when you're seeing who's shared a comment. On top of this, I'm putting together a FAQ page which should provide answers to questions that some members might not know about. A good number of Notts Alumni's have been written and are waiting for final proofing. I'll be getting back to publishing these for Sunday reads. The Pride of Nottingham PONcast is also making a comeback, with episodes yet to be scheduled but work is underway to bring back our popular talk show podcast. We'd like members of the community to get involved, by sharing their thoughts in an audio format. Calls can be made at a stage to me, which I'll produce into episodes to give us that fan element. Lastly, I'm chuffed to say we've got some team openings. I'm keen to beef up the content side of PON again, by publishing fan-written opinions. But it's not just that, we're also on the lookout for volunteers who'd help with researching tasks, graphic design and joining our social media team. His performance for Crawley Town last season and the goal which he scored at Meadow Lane, it was him at his best. I still feel a bit of resentment for the way he acted once he knew he wasn't going to be offered a deal by Notts. Good player, especially at this level and should do really well for Hartlepool United. He was in and out of our squad during his final season, and personally I think he gave up. I hope he serves Hartlepool well because I have a lot of respect for the club.

I think @GrannyPie and @super_ram mentioned this to me, but I can't really stand Alan Carr. I didn't know his father was a manager until he started doing promotional appearances for the show. I'm not sure if it would be my thing, as the clips I have seen - I didn't find it to be all that interesting.

1993, is the point where I remember watching Arsenal on TV and liking their kit (well their socks). I will never forget the electrifying moments when I witnessed cup matches, where the unstoppable duo of Ian Wright and Kevin Campbell, occasionally joined by the immensely talented Alan Smith, left an indelible mark on my memory. I know a year earlier, Arsenal had allowed David Rocastle to leave, who also died young (33). Kevin Campbell was a very hard-working striker, who scored some wonderful goals in the Premier League. I am surprised that the national news seems to be overlooking the time at Nottingham Forest, as he helped them regain their Premier League status. At Everton, he did well but I felt he was more threatening whilst with our nearest neighbours. Rest in Peace, Kevin Campbell.

This will be a great thing for our fan base, bringing a central zone and thinning out other areas. I am excited about my first visit! It's things like this which makes me more thankful for our owners, who have been getting stick the past two seasons for supposedly not investing in the right area. We are in a race, which won't be won without reserving our energy and this could be such a massive boost towards that.

I can't help it, but it's very true. To be fair, he should've been much better for us but even the first season he had under Kevin Nolan was masked with plenty of mistakes. Thankfully, we were better on goal that season. PS. If anyone wants to join my anti Richard Duffy fan club, please DM me. ????
