Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Hatters (A)
I don't want to be negative, but the highlights from a defensive point wasn't great with the goals, it did sound like Aden Baldwin did very well, but why did we leave so much space open for their first goal? I showed @cheeky~k8, and she asked me if the Notts players were ready for the corner. The second goal (penalty), Tobi Adebayo-Rowling gave me shades of Richard Duffy. Wait, that might be harsh, but I'm sticking with it. Just knock it out or draw a foul, don't do what happened. Anyone else usually would have been slaughtered on social media and I don't think that is needed. Yet it was awful, and is a talking point for us to mention as I can't believe he made such a comical error. It's worse than Richard Brindley's mistake a few games ago, but then you see the way we attacked. There was a lot more effort. Our keepers have made a considerable amount of saves, putting us within a joint third of the league. It really does show that Aidan Stone isn't the issue. I'm not dwelling overly on the issue because I do acknowledge that good teams do cause problems, and the overall performance did sound 100% better. We need to be a bit more careful on the ball though.

Mark Ablitt and Notts
I know football is a multimillion pound sport, but Β£200k is a considerable amount for a team like ours. It's basically a player's annual wage. https://footystats.org/england/efl-league-two/salaries

Ken's and Karen's.... ????
I'm sick to death of Ken and Karen videos, even the slightest reference to them. It seems that these days if you disagree with someone, it automatically gets people labelled a Ken or Karen. Whilst I have seen a large portion since the term was phrased, that shows self-titled, obsessed and crazy people kicking off over things which, yes, can be funny. I have now grown tired of it. Some people are acting crazier and crazier. The thing I most find annoying is how people go around trying to trigger these moments, they're there ready with their phone camera and will cause a situation just to try to post a viral video. Sometimes people have simply had enough of being harassed and are perfectly within their rights but still get labelled. I find it all very sad. Against the grain, I wondered if others felt similar to me?

Mapping reality?
Imagine if people actually referred to 'The Beatles' as Liverpool. I know anywhere above London is considered "North" them, which is odd as someone born in the East Midlands being told 'You're a northerner'...

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Hatters (A)
It's going to be interesting, our support hasn't faulted and still continues to sell-out what allocation we get. I hope for the travelling fans that effort is put in and that they have something pleasing to show for the journey. We know what Kyle Wootton is all about. Yet they have a squad full of good talent, and they aren't lacking attacking options. I think we need to get a feel of the game before we even remotely think of bringing the ball back. That just adds pressure onto us from the start; we need to get natural movement and work at creating chances at the other hand. If our midfield can hold onto the ball and use it well, we have the players who can turn the tide at the other end. I'm just worried that Stockport are in such fine form, with all of their attacking options. It will make Notts lack the confidence to apply themselves, and we really should be making teams work harder to get results against us. It's not worth thinking about, Nay. Hopefully Notts can make it much harder for them than we have made it easy for others.

European Super League
Is there still talk of a Super League? I thought that had been put to rest, it's a silly idea. Much like whoever put Manchester United into the Champions League draw, it's bound to be an epic fail.

The Macari Foundation
The Macari Foundation is a charity set up by ex-footballer Lou Macari, and theyβre doing some fantastic work for the homeless in North Staffordshire. Theyβve got this place called the Macari Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, which is open every day of the year. Itβs not just a shelter, but a place that provides support and helps people get back on their feet. They even refer to the people they help as βguestsβ, which I think says a lot about their approach. This is such a heart-warming thing to learn about.

Goalkeeper dossier : Harrogate v Notts
I think Aidan Stone just lacks confidence, our defending doesn't help and how any keeper can be relied upon when we can't even pressure, or attempt to defend it becomes incredibly hard to stop goals going in.

Highlights : Harrogate v Notts
This is the first time I have seen the highlights, wow... We are defending blindly and have become very lazy, no pressuring and so much that could have been done. I want to know what was in Adam Chicksen's boots that made him so slow to react, the decision to slide in seems silly because staying on his feet would have been more practical. The Simpson's Comic Book Guy would say... 'Worst defending ever'. I'm not sure it's 100% true, but it's shocking.

Goals : Notts v Bradford City
I very much enjoyed this game, yes we played differently in the second and could have allowed Bradford City back into the game but the first half was just pure class from us. We need to go back to bossing teams, because it takes so much pressure off us at the back.

Where are they now : Fahrudin KuduzoviΔ
I don't even recall his name. He seems to have been a signing with the future in mind. Still, I don't recall seeing or hearing his name at all.

A poem for Christmas
Itβs remarkable how a poem written by Caroline Wells over a century ago can still resonate with us today. The anxieties and stress associated with preparing for Christmas, from buying gifts to worrying about the dinner, are feelings many of us can relate to. Itβs a clear indication of the timeless nature of human emotions and experiences.

One for us older βpies
The area around the pitch, it used to blow dust and debris in the faces of those who sit in the lower KOP when the wind would pick up. I suggested that this was an area to be improved, which it has, but it doesn't allow for effective draining of water now. At the fan meetings I used to attend, it was requested that handrails were put in - especially for the steep areas. It seems the club might finally be using the information gathered during those meetings. It's about time handrails were installed because it will help people especially when it's wet and slippery. One area I would like to see improved, and I keep saying it, is the paint work we walk on in the stands. It's slippy even when it's sunny. It's not even costly to put right the amount of time that I have or someone who is limited with their walking has fallen or almost fell.

Future Prospects: Recruitment, Defensive Fixes, and Trust in Luke Williams
Luke Williams isn't going anywhere. Yes, I have seen serious calls for his position, but I think that is mostly caused by frustration. It's not really needed, but it's part of the game. I think there are many factors as to why we are struggling, injuries, pressure, a lack of fortune, Williams being linked to vacant positions. It's how we handle these disruptions and with a small squad, it will always be difficult. The January transfer window is a perfect opportunity to get this right, signing players to fill what we are currently lacking would go along way to allowing us to kick on.

Iβm Not Fond of It, But I See the Reasoning
I think sometimes it could simply be down to time and the fact we lost, I don't think it's something the club wouldn't focus on solely due to losing. Yes, it can be seen as a means to protect the players but when many use social media, then it becomes quite pointless because if they post that will draw much of the same reaction an interview after a game would gain. Hopefully whatever the outcome is tomorrow, the club will put out a player interview. It can be a good way to get fans onside if used right, we know the players care and want to win. Yet they can gently remind people a bit more excited that they are working towards goals.

January transfer window recruitment doc
Whilst I think @ARLukomski shares a solid list of potential signings, I think Notts will be looking to sign more experienced and established players between the ages of 24 and 27. Having an understudy to Matt Palmer doesn't really make much sense in my eyes. I think our recruitment will be looking for some who is very much like Palmer, but equally experienced and maybe versatile in what role they can play in midfield. Defensively, I can't see us looking to bring in someone like Adam Senior (who I suggested in my article during the pre-season). I can see Notts paying money to bring in someone of real quality to help steady the back.

Why would the Football League admit to this?
@Piethagoram Yes, Bradford also did it. I think they are mistaken what game they were playing due to their shirt's looking like they belong more in rugby than football. This is all about the EFL trying to highlight that improvements are being made in the officiating department. I can't say I have noticed any significant improvements, outside the Premier League officials are very average. Incidents will be missed, but by the EFL reporting that they aren't making as many is just a weird statement. I doubt it's 85%, because it would make a lot more sense to be within the 50% 60% simply due to human error. This doesn't fit their agenda though.
