  1. I am looking forward to seeing what he has about him, I won't be too harsh with my judgement because I do know he's still settling - also a managerial change albeit interim level can be distracting for new players. He seems a decent signings from what I have read but I do hope to see more of him on the pitch.
  2. Everyone who's spoken to me about Seamus McDonagh mentioned him quite positively to me. I take it you wasn't a fan?
  3. This would have been the season my grandfather took me to my first game. Unfortunately, I just remember that we won 2-0. I need to go through the fixtures from that season to identify the game. We made several games that season, the whole squad back then I looked massively up to.
  4. I can't wait for someone to start outshining Messi, Ronaldo too. They're still solely picking things up due to their name. Messi wasn't great in France - he started to improve and created quite the share of assists. The American league isn't that great, despite the hype. He should be running rings around them, but I still don't think he should be anywhere near this award. Best Male....
  5. Superb! Great technique for the goal, it flew into the back of the net. What strikes me is how everything seems modern, except the camera footage. I could easily mistake it if it was for the shirts, grass, stadium as being from a few decades ago.
  6. Pedro Richards goal was literally human ping pong, until it landed at his feet. From the highlights I have seen of him, I can understand why my grandfather spoke so highly of him. What a goal!
  7. Whilst I can understand some fans concerns that we might not be as bothered about allowing tomorrow to proceed, so that Stuart Maynard has longer with the squad. I personally don't think this is very Notts County. We have had similar things done to us, and it's annoying. Our grand staff always do their best to make sure games are playable and the ground is cared for. People are commenting about why the club has taken the covers off, I don't believe they have, and the photo will most likely have been taken at a different point in time (rather than yesterday). They will be off early in the morning and preparation will begin to try to make sure the ground isn't frosted over. There's little point to delay, plus postponing the game will only make Stockport feel we are scared. If it does get called off, it will be after a second or third pitch inspection and solely due to the conditions. We'll want Maynard to get to see what the squad has now, so that he can make suggestions on signings. Just my thoughts.
  8. @Fan of Big Tone This is a local topic, for local people. Are you local? If we are talking sketch shows: Harry Enfield, but also this guy. Otherwise, Monty Python would certainly be up their in terms of group comedy.
  9. Just like @liampie, I watched a news segment on the BBC News and couldn't see anything of interest. It just looked like stars orbiting like normal, maybe a larger amount than what you would see if you look for yourself using a telescope but nothing that made me jump up and declare it as amazing. The news is pretty cool, as for the talk about changing how we inspect and look at the universe the obvious right decision would be to use anything that might give a greater understanding.
  10. Today, I will be doing all the norms for the site. Tomorrow I will be at Meadow Lane, without @Callum234, but the plus side is @super_pie will be, and a friend has offered to give me a lift home and back. I do need to find time to go round to see @super_ram. Ideally that would be Sunday, but I am going to make sure I don't over do things or tire myself out.
  11. Please don't, this is @cheeky~k8's favourite new show and I think it highlights how vein people can be. Everyone as a group works together, behind the scenes in smaller groups or one to one they call each other. It's very annoying to me, there are elements which are interesting, but the show isn't something I would commit to watching. It feels like wasted time, watching people try to outsmart each other. The guy who was being singled out a few episodes back, who got aggressive with his voice - I just wanted to tell him to shut up, the way he would over talk others and bad mouth people in the kitchen.
  12. It becomes a mockery when any team is able to bypass written rules. It's part of why I have little interest these days in the Premier League; I find the fees and everything just to be too much. The more you read about Manchester City, plus how other teams can spend beyond their means, makes it a joke. Everton and Forest have been punished, but there's little justice when others aren't. I feel the same with how Derby County were treated by the Football League. Especially when there's 3 to 4 teams currently who have broken rules but are getting away with it. It's not healthy for football for it to be like this.
  13. They should beat Sutton Coldfield, I am thinking 2-0. I don't want to pretend I know everything about Sutton Coldfield when I really don't, but I do know they aren't as strong as Sheffield.
  14. I grew up watching Arsenal, and before I went to Meadow Lane, I would have said them over Notts. There was a period even after that where it was easier to keep updated on as a young kid in the 90s. I wrote to many clubs as a kid to see who would reply, it was very exciting. Notts never did reply to the letter, however, Arsenal did they sent me a signed Dennis Bergkamp picture (hand signed) and a team poster which had all the 98 squad signatures on, but that was printed. Still, those are things I really appreciated. About 2004, I started to get fed up with the Premier League - mostly due to the direction it was going. I have always found supporting a club like Notts to mean more and with my coming of age, it was a lot easier for me to choose to attend games myself, especially after my grandfather Ray died in 2000.
  15. A few years before I started going with my grandfather to games, but I remember the goal. I used to have a soft spot for Oldham Athletic back in the day, but my loyalty will be forever with Notts. Plus I wished I had seen Paul Rideout in Notts colours, because he was a decent player for Everton.
  16. Blame all these youngsters who thought voting made them feel like they are big boys and girls, when they don't understand politics and thought it was right to vote for the Tory Party. I remember the debates on Twitter, some of the idiots who felt life would be better are living a mundane existence based on their poor decision. It's not just them but fools who thought they could be trusted to be fair. Some people were angry at the joke made by the Labour Party. The Tories take more than they give. They run our nation into the ground whilst their mates and themselves get rich.
  17. Wouldn't this be their second time folding? I feel terrible for them. Some clubs just don't seem to have any luck with progressing but hopefully if they do reform, they focus on the level which they can operate best at and move with that.
  18. I have seen pictures of comments supposedly made by Troy Deeney, he's never a manager, not in a million years but if it's true about some of the things he said he could become a stand-up comedian. Does this mean he no longer plays for Forest Green Rovers? Wouldn't it be embarrassing and awkward if he returned to playing? Failed as a manager, thrived on a squad that played to his strengths. An average player, nothing remarkable. He should look at his own game and off-the-pitch antics before judging others.
  19. I am having regular short walks; I need to dig out the exercise bike from the garage and make use of it again. I usually try to do between 10–20 miles per day on it. Obviously, I aim trying work hard towards shaping myself up and dropping the weight I have gained.
  20. Don't believe the rumour mill about their fans saying he's not very good, if he wasn't, he wouldn't have helped Wealdstone climb on such a limited budget. If any of their fans are saying negative things, ask why? Instead of worrying. I would put it down to them being bitter about his departure. Much like some of our own fans views on Luke Williams having left for Swansea City. This seems to be a very good appointment, I will give him my full support. I am looking forward to Saturday all the more now, I can't wait to be with Jake and Cal.
  21. Not so late after all, @DangerousSausage. Good news! I am sure Jim O'Brien would have done his best, but I always do feel it's best for the manager to get involved as quickly as possible - instead of missing a game whilst an interim head coach takes his squad to the field. He will have time to access, tactics might be the same, but it will be interesting to see.
  22. When I was younger, I liked to watch war films. I can't forget how the Australians (among others) held by Japanese forces were treated. Germany was cruel with people, but I think a lot of what was experienced out in Japan was disgusting and unhumanlike. I'm certain that Germany was also far from pleasant, considering the appalling treatment that young children were subjected to by the guards. Only to murder them, along with captured troops. German forces used harsh methods to segregate and intimidate people, which was unpleasant. Japan, on the other hand, inflicted harm on their own people by attacking the United States. I'm glad things were put in place to try to prevent people from being treated. like this, however, Russia among others don't seem to care.
  23. It sounded quite the even game, from what I have been told Notts had their chances, but it obviously came down to the one goal by Sheffield.
  24. Yes, I was thinking that the move to Rochdale was a perfect move. We'll have to watch and see how he progresses, if Tiernan Brooks does well then we should certainly consider him a first team player. Maybe not the first choice, but definitely a contender for consideration.
  25. Bristol City 0-2 Watford Norwich City 1-0 West Bromwich Albion Exeter City 0-1 Cambridge United Stevenage 1-2 Barnsley AFC Wimbledon 3-0 Crawley Town Barrow 0-1 Crewe Alexandra Eastleigh 2-2 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-1 Hartlepool United Joker
