  1. Notts County has confirmed that Welsh defender, Connell Rawlinson has signed a brand new two-year-deal. The 29-year-old centre back has become an important part of the heart of the magpies' defence in the last two campaigns at Meadow Lane. Rawlinson joined the club two summers ago after leaving Port Vale and has become a popular player amongst the supporters'. Speaking on the clubs official site, Connell Rawlinson said: "Yeah, I'm really happy obviously. I really wanted to stay, over the last couple of years I've really got to know the club well. "Towards the end of the second year you start to become like a fan, as well as how you see the fans and how passionate they're for the club. You know to play for a club like Notts County, I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to play here like. "It's a great club, with a great history and the fanbase is brilliant. It's one of the main reasons why I wanted to stay." Notts County's head coach Ian Burchnall said: "I'm really pleased, Connell's been a big part of our defensive unit for a while now. "We’ve used him on the right of a back three a lot but I think he can stake his claim in the middle because he’s commanding in the air and a committed defender. "He’s comfortable on the ball, too, so he can play a variety of roles at the back. He’s another player that wants to show commitment to the club by staying and helping us get out of this division." Sam Slocombe said via the official site: "Yeah good to get it over the line. I think there's a few major factors why I wanted to stay, one was pretty much I came here a couple of years ago to help get the club back up in the Football League and that's obviously not happened yet. "Its something that I'm really wanting to help this club do, the other, the fans have been brilliant, especially the last couple of games when they've been able to be back and in the first season, they're fantastic to play for and I think they kind of trust that the owners have put in the players and the management staff during the time that I've been here. "They've both been fantastic, I think the way he wants to play football and going forward its going to be a good environment be in. "I'm looking forward to seeing what recruitment we do. I think that's going to be a real big thing but yeah, I want to stay here and hopefully get us back into the football league and that's a project that I started a couple of years ago and I want to keep doing until we get it done." 8. Jake Reeves has agreed a deal to join League Two Stevenage. The 28-year-old midfielder, has featured heavily for Notts County in National League and has made more than 200 English Football League appearances He made 43 appearances last season as the Magpies reached the National League play-offs, however, Reeves has activated a clause in his contract which sees him link up Alex Revell. Jake Reeves said via the Stevenage official site: "Having just played a year in the National League, it is nice to be back in the Football League with Stevenage. "I am looking forward to playing at The Lamex as a home player, because playing here away from home was always a tough gig. I know this ground quite well I have met with the gaffer a couple of times now, and ever since talking to him and learning how he wants to play and what he wants to achieve, it was a no-brainer for me". This leaves Notts County requiring to further strengthen up their midfield, after Michael Doyle has taken the assistant head coach role on a permanent basis and is expected to only feature sporadically for the magpies next season. Notts County Head coach told the Nottingham Post: "While we are of course very disappointed to be losing Jake, no one deserves this opportunity more than him. "He had a very difficult time at Bradford after joining them when they were flying high in League One and has given his absolute all for Notts County over the course of this season. We always suspected Jake would have ambitions of returning to the EFL as soon as possible, and we have been planning for this eventuality for some time. adding "While he will of course be difficult to replace, we have been assessing several players who we feel could step into his shoes and have identified a number of exciting prospects. These things take time, but we’re confident we’ll go into next season with a balanced and strong midfield."
