  1. I think it’s obvious that with the team returning to the EFL and taking part in League Two, it would take time for things to click. Luke Williams also hasn’t managed at this level, which some fans may go on about being excuses, but they are truths. When you start a new job, virtually everyone needs a few weeks to a month to get up to speed with things. Notts are no different with football, we are progressing nicely, a win on Saturday would put the club one step closer to being somewhere most fans should be happy with. I will accept mistakes and try not to be too critical of the players.
  2. I had Tranmere Rovers as being the game I felt the most nervous about in the early round of games, with them expected to be up there at the end of the season. I thought Grimsby Town would have been a bit easier, as they are still somewhat hit and miss. Whereas Tranmere has a lot of quality, quality that we can’t ignore but it’s reserved since the season has started. I don’t want this to come across as if I think the game will be easy, it won’t, but I feel we are at the level in our game where if we work hard enough and create those chances, goals will come for us. The nervous feeling I had looking at the fixtures at the start of the season has gone, replaced with optimism.
  3. Sean McConville's injury is indeed a significant blow for Accrington Stanley. The man was in good form, and his experience on the pitch will be missed over these three months.
  4. Quality management from Luke Williams. The tactical changes he implemented were spot on. It's also refreshing to see a manager commend the efforts of individual players. Langstaff was indeed on fire and deserves the recognition.
  5. One notable trait of this match was Notts resilience and the ability to wither Doncaster Rovers' early pressing attempts. The momentum gradually shifted in favour of Notts after Macaulay Langstaff’s goal. Credit has to be given to the team for not buckling under pressure and taking their chances when they appeared. The tactics obviously worked well and provided the team with a morale-boosting victory. Good write up!
  6. Fantastic vlog! Loved the energy and spirit of the fans throughout the match.
  7. This was an enlightening interview with John Bostock, speaking highly of his time at Doncaster Rovers but making it clear he's all for Notts County now. What spoke volumes to me was his ability to keep professionalism at the forefront, showing respect for the Doncaster fans yet not shying away from his current commitment to Notts County. That's the spirit of competition, isn't it? Former allegiances aside when it's game time.
  8. Praying for an early knockout goal! Let's have it, lads!
  9. It's Bostock's driven and never-give-up attitude that sets him apart. We need more of that spirit in the team. Here's to weathering the storm together and coming out stronger.
  10. Managerial words that strike the right chords. Identifying where we can improve, working on it, and valuing the fans for their support. Let's translate these insights into actions on the pitch, shall we?
  11. Notts County is beginning to resemble the team we are familiar with. Morecambe is now facing intense pressure and is retreating defensively. The required quality is evident. Notts should exercise patience when taking shots at goal. I believe if we manage to score within the next 10 minutes, another goal could potentially follow. We must, however, remain cautious of their counter-attacks.
  12. I don't believe I've ever witnessed the KOP being so upbeat and vociferous in my lifetime. It was an absolute delight to observe Notts in action, rallying to turn the game around with the entire crowd in the stands and the players on the field working collectively to secure those three points. Grimsby proved to be a formidable team and presented challenges, and while we did contribute to the difficulties at times, our performance in the second 45 minutes was outstanding.
  13. Every match offers an opportunity to rectify previous mistakes and learn something new. This game is crucial for both Morecambe and Notts to assert their standing in League Two. A captivating match awaits us, with both teams needing to claim those critical 3 points. I hope its our day!
  14. Langstaff's scoring proficiency last season was nothing short of heroic. Let's hope he gets a goal soon, as he's a totally different striker once he gets on the score sheet and his determination to assist the team is notable. Fingers crossed from him tonight!
  15. John Bostock was a standout player for Notts, his volleying past keeper Jake Eastwood to equalise. It was a moment of pure class from Bostock, who showed great skill and composure to bring Notts level. I thought he worked very hard for the team.
  16. A healthy mix of rest and intense training seems to be working well for the lads. With Kyle Cameron leading the pack with such a positive and dedicated mindset, I believe our return to League Two will be memorable. Focused on causing better opposition problems, the team looks ready to take on any challenge.
  17. Super excited to see the boys giving it their all this season. Cameron's leadership is undisputed, and his belief in the team is infectious. Here's to a successful run in League Two!
  18. We will be just fine. It’s good to see what happens when Macaulay Langstaff doesn’t play. Plus, with Junior Morias returning, we have cover. I think we will be in the mix for promotion come the end of the season.
  19. It’s normal to have some questions and doubts going into the season. These are just normal pre-season jitters. As for the friendlies, they’re a run out and competitively different from matches where points matter.
  20. We finally have players who are relatable and think about each other. I like David McGoldrick's presence on the pitch because he's a calm head. That influence and experience isn't something you can teach, but his strike is another thing that is natural.
  21. Good timing, this with us having played Alfreton yesterday. I don't mind Derby, they are much friendlier than other clubs and I think we do have a connection within our history with each other. This is a very good read.
  22. It feels unreal to see Notts in this position. I never thought the club would be using pre-season to build players and have this sort of recruitment. I didn't think we would have all these coaches and a squad pulling together. To be in a position where we have just returned to the Football League and with further hard work, Notts could be in with the chance of another promotion. It just feels very special. I appreciate our owners so much and Luke Williams.
  23. It's always great to hear coaches reflect so candidly on their team's performance after a match. Rather than dwelling on the defeat, Williams has chosen to highlight the invaluable experience gained by his squad. Playing against top-tier teams is integral to Notts County's progress and improvement as it uncovers areas that must be strengthened before the season starts. While it's unfortunate that we lost the match, fans can find solace in the fact that these experiences are molding a stronger team for the new season. A coach's positive attitude in the face of defeat can heavily influence the team's morale and motivation. Warmly looking forward to what the new season brings!
  24. I hate hearing about news like this. Just because it’s been adjourned, it doesn’t mean they have survived because they still have to go back. It’s just horrible for the fans of a football club in this situation.
  25. Great summary of the upcoming season's opening games. The first game against Sutton United is definitely an opportunity for Notts County to hit the ground running. Considering Sutton's performance towards the end of last season, there's a good chance for Notts to secure an immediate victory. The second game against Grimsby Town will be a thriller. Grimsby has fortified their squad ahead of the season. However, I believe in Notts' team spirit and ability to rise to the occasion.
