Match Discussion: League Two - Colchester United (A)
A disappointing defeat. Colchester came to play. They are a decent side. Don't be surprised to see them in the top 7 come season end.

Match Discussion: League Two - Colchester United (A)
I suspect Colchester will come to play today and that should suit us. As mentioned, a 90 minute performance would be most welcome.

Match Discussion: League Two - Harrogate Town (A)
No one can say League 2 is predictable or lacks excitement this season. There's no clear favourite to win the league. If I was asked who is going to get promoted, I couldn't say at this point. I see this as a point gained. Onwards and upwards.....

Match Discussion: League Two - Harrogate Town (A)
Given the circumstances Harrogate find themselves in, this should be straight forward right? Right? Seriously though, we might have to be patient. Harrogate will understandably try to hit Notts on the break. It may take our bench to seal the deal.

Match Discussion: League Two: Cheltenham Town (A)
Notts on a Monday night feels strange but that's the reality of it. I think it's roughly a 4 and half hour round trip? Not exactly a short trip on a school night. Anyway........a win would take us into the top 3. I'd be happy with a point but I think we'll sneak a win.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Manchester United U21 (A)
2 poor games in a row. There was a distinct lack of desire tonight. I expect it will be a different story next Saturday. It's next Monday ๐คฃ

Match Discussion: FA Cup 1st Rd: Brackley Town (A)
That was plain embarrassing. Outplayed and out fought by a team in the bottom half of the NL.

Match Discussion: FA Cup 1st Rd: Brackley Town (A)
Ness has been superb so far. He's like a magnet to the ball. Oh dear. Roos with his trademark weak punch. Lobbed back in. No Ness this time and Brackley score from a header.

โWeโve not beaten anyone in the top sevenโ Is this statement misleading?
I think the inability to pick up points against the teams above us cost us dearly last season. I don't see a repeat of that this year but that's just my opinion. We can push for top 3. If we go into January still in a decent position, I'd expect us to improve the squad and that will get us over the line.

Match Discussion: League Two - Cambridge United (H)
Jatta is the difference at this level. 5th heading into 2 Cup games is more than acceptable.
-
Match Discussion: League Two - Cambridge United (H)
We score more than Cambridge do. They are poor away from home. I think we'll win.

Match Discussion: League 2 - Swindon Town (A)
You can't leave an in form Drinan all alone in front of goal. Bad things happen if you do......

Richard Montague returns
RM was on the Tube after the game. He's still living in Swansea. Seems like an affable bloke. His return is most welcome.

Match Discussion: League Two - Barnet FC (A)
Smash and grab sums it up. The referee was awful. That is all.

Match Discussion: League Two - Barnet FC (A)
Barnet have dominated the game. Roos made an unbelievable save to keep us in it. Barnet have bombarded us with crosses. Notts have done well against them. A much improved performance is needed.

Match Discussion: League Two - Barnet FC (A)
I'm travelling over for this game. I've been to the Hive before. It's a nice ground. I think Barnet have surprised a few people. They haven't changed their philosophy since their promotion to League 2 and they are reaping the benefits now. It's a game between 2 teams who play football. Notts need to keep the ball and that will disrupt Barnet. We need to pressure them high up the pitch. If we do, we will create turnovers in dangerous areas of the pitch. If we score first, I think we'll win.

It's either a visit to Woking or Brackley in the FA Cup 1st Rd.
There's a chance this one may be on the TV. A cup run would be nice. A trip to Crystal Palace in the 4th round. Yes please.....

Match Discussion: League Two - Oldham Athletic AFC (H)
Oldham have picked up some decent results on their travels. They don't score many goals but don't concede many either. It's great to see Oldham back in League Two. The last time we played them was in 2019. The last time we beat them was 2013. I suspect this might be a more difficult game than people expect. I'd be happy with a 1-0 win. Notts need to go a run of games unbeaten. Consistency is key in League 2.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
Let's just say this was an opportunity missed. More shots, more possession and yet still end up losing the game.

Match Discussion: League Two - Crewe Alexandra (A)
It's a good time to play Crewe. They haven't won a league game since August. Bizarrely they beat Chesterfield 7-1 in the Football League Trophy earlier this month. They were poor against Barnet in their last game. We need to start picking up points on the road. Given the circumstances, it would be disappointing to not get something out of this game.

Match Discussion: League Two - Gillingham (A)
It's a sad day after we lost one of our own yesterday. In an ideal world, Kim would have been at Gillingham supporting the club. The reality is that Kim was taken way too young. The applause today lifted the cloud of gloom. RIP Kim. Gillingham deserved their win. They were the better side. The injuries are a real worry. Hopefully Gordon and Dennis won't be out for too long but I suspect Gordon's injury is serious. We won't meet a better team this season IMO.

Match Discussion: League Two - Gillingham (A)
Gillingham are the only unbeaten team in League 2. They will lose at some stage and I reckon a betting man may well put a sneaky wager on Notts County to win this weekend. Personally I would go with an unchanged line up. We are going to have periods of the game where they will press us hard and if we can keep them out, we'll be fine. They know they are going up against Jatta and an in form Dennis. They'll be worried about us.
