I was at the match yesterday. I meant to leave a comment sooner, but I wanted to take a bit of time to think it over properly. I thought Notts looked the stronger side overall. You've clearly got bits to work on, but it feels more like small tweaks than anything major. Compared to Shrewsbury, the gap is quite clear. We look like we need a full overhaul, and right now, League One feels a bit out of reach with the squad we've got. Jodi Jones is a cracking player. His movement was sharp, and he’s always good to watch. You can tell he’s got that bit of class about him. Nick Tsaroulla stood out as well. He looked like he slotted into your setup nicely. I remember him from his time at Crawley, always thought he had something about him. I was looking forward to the game, but I had a feeling we’d struggle at the back. Sadly, that’s exactly what happened. Best of luck to Notts for the rest of the season. I’ve always enjoyed my visits to Meadow Lane and spending time in Nottingham. There’s a lot to admire about what you’re building here with the site too, it’s a proper good effort.

Nick Tsaroulla was easily the best player on the pitch. Loads of Shrewsbury fans were saying the same on the way home. It’s a real shame we didn’t snap him up when he left Crawley. He’s just the sort of wide player we need, reads the game well and doesn’t take silly risks with the ball.

To give more context, we were in dire need of a midfielder who could handle pressure and help create opportunities. We weren’t performing well in League One, ending the season in 18th place. He came from Chelsea, so he might have wondered why he should put in effort at this level. I hope his stint at Ostersund has helped him improve, but don’t expect him to be like Matt Palmer. From our recent games, I’d say Palmer is an excellent hard worker, a quality that Charlie Colkett didn’t display during his loan spell. That’s one of the reasons why we ended his loan.

I respect Notts and hope the new signing works out, but I’d advise not to be too hopeful. He’s a bit of a mixed bag. His stint at Shrewsbury isn’t remembered well and we ended his loan. He only played one league game and a few cup matches, which speaks volumes about his impact. We were optimistic when he joined as he clearly has talent, but it soon became clear that he’s idle, lacks drive and wasn’t that good. His injury record is a concern, even Jack Wilshere is less injury-prone. If you can motivate him and keep him fit, he could be useful. Otherwise, he’ll likely spend most of his time on the bench. I’d expect him to fall into that category. Don’t be misled by his Chelsea footage. It’s very misleading. Apologies to the Pie fans.

apart from your youth setup and his time towards the end of his career i'm not familiar with him. this gives outsiders or those with limited info a much better idea, so i can actually glance at his career with this nice write up.
