  1. Luke Williams’ comments reflect his will. He’s detailed in his thoughts and must have wondered what exactly went wrong from the touchline without dwelling on it. I feel sorry for him and the youth players. To include them in such a big game, you can forgive their nerves for getting the better of them.
  2. I hope we can give Forest a run for their money. Obviously, if we lose, we lose. I don’t care, but if we were to win, it would show those plastic fans who don’t appreciate their own club. Much like the 70% who seem to be glory supporters. I’ll make a prediction: 2-1 Notts, with a Langstaff brace.
  3. I think it’s a case of not seeing the boxes or packaging of DVDs. Sometimes, seeing a film can jog your memory back to something else and make you want to watch that. If it’s something in a series, like the Harry Potter franchise, that can also make you re-watch to catch up for the latest release. I don’t think streaming helps jog anyone’s memory; it just makes it easy to find something, and that fills the need to think.
  4. I bet York City fans are delighted with this news. Did anyone see it happen at the time? Why has it taken so long to make the news?
  5. There’s no need to resort to the stupidity of losing, regardless of the manner. I think those vocal fans have let down the whole club and community. That said, there are some interesting and very decent comments. Frustration should never lead to anger, though.
  6. This does seem like the ideal move for Archie Mair. We may see him again in the future when he has more experience. Provided he’s with a club below us, there’s always a chance we may sign him when he’s ready. I bet the club will be watching how he does at Gateshead with interest.
  7. I am shocked by reading this. I feel there’s just no need. I hope these people do not have season tickets because it could be a long season for them. If they moan all the time, it won’t be long before they cause an issue and another fan ends up in trouble due to growing sick of it. It’s a friendly, for heaven’s sake. Why single out poor performances, especially when the players are young, and then give them abuse? It’s beyond comprehension. I do hope it was just a very small minority and nothing more.
  8. I’m sure there are many more stories like this from Neil Warnock’s career. He is a character and a very funny person, whether he means to be or not. However, he is also a very strict boss.
  9. Good luck to Jon Stead. He gave his all for Notts and unfortunately never managed to see Notts regain promotion during his time with us.
  10. It would be good if they managed to survive. What’s happening to clubs is awful.
  11. It sounds very nice, @Fan of Big Tone. There’s nothing like a bit of TLC and a BBQ. I bet Mrs. Tone will have to get you providing the service more often.
  12. Shaun Derry is one of our own, a person who has a passion for Notts. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out here. Good luck to him at Palace.
  13. I wish I had the pleasure of seeing Callum McGregor play for Notts. The season he and Jack Grealish were at Notts seemed like a dream, but we missed maximising their potential on the field.
  14. I have ordered three blue shirts, two of which are for my neighbour’s children. I also ordered a training jacket and a Notts coat. I will order the home shirts when they go on sale, as I think they are both very nice.
  15. Hello and welcome from across the pond, @MagpieRob.
  16. This won’t count, but Harry and James Iremonger played for Forest. James was much like Albert, but made fewer appearances in football. Those that would count include Adam Nowland, Jason Lee, Gary Mills, Elliot Ward, Brendan Moloney, and Wes Morgan. I can’t think of any others off the top of my head that haven’t already been mentioned.
  17. Welcome to PON, @Jones10. It's a great place here, so hello from across the pond.
  18. Thank you to everyone who went and has shared their thoughts; it’s useful, and I am thankful for the time you have taken because it gives me a better idea of what’s happening. As an exile, this is a gold mine and makes you feel in the know.
  19. It sounds like we have some promising young talent, but whether Luke Williams will be brave enough to play some of them during the season, only time will tell. With 7 subs, any games where we are a few goals ahead would be the ideal time to throw one or two on just to gain experience.
  20. I think Meta will do a better job than Elon Musk. Twitter is rapidly declining, and I have seen many articles about how people are deactivating. Most may return if Twitter gets its act together, but Threads may gain more users by their release timing. I had thought about joining when Tony mentioned if anyone used it. I do browse the internet a lot during my day, but I thought my time would be better spent off social media.
  21. I think Chesterfield investing in their squad will see them do well. I can’t imagine the league being between 3 or more teams. Oldham is a strange team that could surprise people. There are some teams that may spring a surprise, like Barnet.
  22. Well done to Stoke City; this is a gesture that all our supporters should be thankful for them doing. It is a touch of class and respect.
  23. I would be inclined to agree, but I can see some teams struggling to perform in the playoff zone, such as Mansfield. They have a good manager and team, but inconsistency does hit them at times. I think after the seasons they have had, they may just become an average team with everyone else advancing. I also feel Wrexham may struggle; I haven’t heard a lot of news from them regarding signings.
  24. Good luck to Michael Doyle; an experienced mind such as his will be invaluable to Portsmouth’s youth system.
  25. Like the CEO, who knows what’s happening with Tiernan Brooks. I heard he wasn’t at the Nuneaton friendly, which seems a bit odd.
