  1. It's refreshing to see such positivity from Maynard. His approach to moving past the controversial goal shows great leadership.
  2. Notts must put in a strong effort to ensure we gain something from this match. Although our points tally hasn’t been impressive lately, our performances have been decent. Under Stuart Maynard’s guidance, things seem to be progressing well. A victory would be a fantastic result from the game and would help maintain our strong home form this season.
  3. Securing the victory is the key point. Their manager suggested they could have performed better, yet accepted all responsibility for the loss. As for Newport, they had their moments, but it felt rather ordinary once we netted a goal.
  4. The Norovirus is quite unpleasant. It’s good that you managed to get home safely, as being ill on holiday is the worst. At least it hasn’t disrupted that. Hope you feel better soon @Fan of Big Tone.
  5. What impresses me the most about Maynard is his adaptability. Shifting from a secure job and succeeding at Wealdstone under difficult circumstances shows real guts and determination. That character is infectious, and I believe he has the potential to inspire our players to punch above their weight. It's been a while since we've had a manager who not only respects the club's values but also aligns perfectly with our current needs on and off the pitch.
  6. The signing of James Sanderson tells me that Notts County hasn't lost its touch in recognising and nurturing young potential. He's exactly the kind of player that makes the academy system so vital. a beacon of hope for others striving to make it. To come back from grassroots and perform so well under the first-team pressure is commendable. I'm eagerly anticipating his growth over the next few seasons. Well done to all involved.
  7. The board seems confident with this move and so am I. Maynard's full-time leadership could be the key to promotion. Roll on Saturday!
  8. Glad to see you here! Welcome aboard @Thomas Cotton.
  9. Glad to see you here! Welcome aboard @Michelle Evans.
  10. Welcome @True Magpie! Delighted to have you with us.
  11. I’m much more optimistic that Notts can secure a win against Morecambe. If fatigue doesn’t factor into the match, I firmly believe the home support can contribute to achieving the result we all desire. The main thing is to continue playing well.
  12. It’s good to see Luke smiling again, he will undoubtedly be proud and pleased by the response. Next, we face Morecambe. It would be great to secure another home victory, which will hopefully lead to improved performances away.
  13. I believe that if interviews are conducted after victories, they should also be done after challenging results. To cease them due to a rough patch seems contrary to the message the club has been trying to convey and reminds me of a media blackout. I wouldn’t say it’s always necessary to interview a player, but to stop due to poor form is a poor reflection on the club at a time when we’re supposed to be united.
  14. I specifically request my relatives not to purchase anything for me, not to be a do-gooder, but because I’d prefer them to spend the money on others. A fully paid trip and tickets to a musical does seem like a lovely gift.
  15. A Merry Christmas to all and here's hoping for a fantastic New Year. Well Done to everyone who keeps this forum alive with great discussions.
  16. When was the last time the Christmas charts had a few decent songs related to the day? Now it’s all trashy pop and singers who can’t compose songs.
  17. Hello, great to have you here on PON @StanfordPie. Welcome to the community.
  18. There will be more to come, @Robbie__64. Welcome from me too! Great to have you on PON. See I told you there would be more!
  19. The modifications at Meadow Lane are indeed a positive development. With the club drawing more supporters, the investments should easily recoup their costs, if they haven’t already. The better the experience, the happier the fans will be. Safety is paramount.
  20. I’ve noted your willingness to have your e-mail added to the list.
  21. I understand your lack of interest in the happenings across the Trent. Teams, as we know all too well, can cycle through managers rapidly. It was indeed refreshing that Steve Cooper received support last season. There might be more to the decision this time, but the only remark I can make is that it’s regrettable.
  22. I share your hope that Doncaster hasn’t improved significantly since we last played them at their ground. Doncaster was dismal, and Notts played some excellent football. I don’t anticipate it being as straightforward, but being at home and familiar with their style should be advantageous. Luke Williams has spoken about learning from past performances, so ideally, this will be the perfect opportunity to demonstrate this.
  23. Instant admiration for Stockport's resilience and strategic approach to this game. Their discipline and patience in defence, particularly notable with Neill Byrne's marshalling, laid the foundation for their win. Also, transitioning Joel Cotterill into the game in the dying minutes proved instrumental in cementing their lead. Despite being a Notts supporter through and through, I have to acknowledge the tactical prowess that was displayed by Stockport yesterday.
  24. It's truly refreshing to hear Langstaff's perspectives. His confidence and optimism, despite the recent dip in form, is the kind of resilience that fuels the team's spirit. The acknowledgement of the challenges yet embracing them as part of the journey, that's what sets Notts County apart. Plus, the professional growth he mentioned via interactions with senior players like David McGoldrick, it's inspiring. Preparing to face Stockport, their focus and determination is commendable. Notts is ready for the challenge!
  25. While it took some time for Macari to get his chance on the field, it has certainly been worth the wait. It’s been a delight to see him play. His performance and growth are a testament to his love for the game. Adapting to Notts County’s playing style wasn’t easy, and he faced initial challenges. However, his determination remained unwavering. His expressed desire for continuous improvement is truly inspiring. There’s no doubt that he’s a future star in the making for the club and has set a positive trajectory for his journey with Notts.
