  1. A good move for them, and I hope he gets into their first team and rebuilds his career. When he first joined us, I thought he looked decent. I just think he needed a bit more backing. He had a few slip-ups in League Two, but overall I thought he did alright. Aiden Baldwin’s done well at Bradford City, fair play to him.
  2. It seems the club has been reading through what fans have been saying online and taken it all on board. They’ve managed to respond to everything at once today, which shows they’ve been paying attention. It’s unusual for local media to ask the sort of questions we actually care about, so that makes a nice change.
  3. Supporters want a midfielder with strong leadership and a bit of bite, someone not afraid to put in a proper tackle and show authority. Some people are quick to point out that he’s injury prone and joined us while still carrying a knock. But the club clearly sees something in Ollie Norburn. They signed him knowing the risk because they believe he suits what we’re looking for. Realistically, we’re only going to get players like this, either those with less experience or older heads like Michael Doyle. Let’s give him a chance and hope he proves himself.
  4. I read that central banks have actually been increasing their gold reserves lately. That suggests they still see it as a safety net, even in modern times.
  5. Pride of Nottingham looks fantastic. I liked the previous design, but the newer look feels much more user-friendly. I’m really pleased with it.
  6. It’s fascinating that artifacts were found by fishermen going about their work. If the land were restored and the water levels lowered, it could cover a huge area, but where would the sea be displaced to? I still think Doggerland could have had a better name.
  7. Welcome to the site @STAT, it would be nice to see you join in.
  8. David McGoldrick is my Man of the Match. He set Notts up to win and his introduction gave the squad a big lift. There were some good individual performances, but I feel McGoldrick tops them all.
  9. I want to give the referee credit for calling it a foul against Gillingham when McGoldrick got his smart yellow card. That could have sealed the game. Also, the way he ended the match, as our keeper had gone up for it and again we may have been caught short. The rest of his decisions were mostly poor. Notts had an off day on goal and missed some chances that on another day would have been put away. The same can be said about the result; we may have won it on another day. It is what it is. Am I happy? No, but our lads played well.
  10. Footballers have always been known for being a bit short in the brain department, but it’s just how he speaks. Everyone usually repeats one or two words. It’s not enough to hate him, even if it can be annoying. He’s been one of England’s best-ever strikers.
  11. Some fans might come crashing down to earth now that we have experienced our first defeat, but all we can do is keep going. It would be disappointing if tickets started to be sold for the Chesterfield game just because we lost one game. Go there, enjoy it, and back the lads who played so bravely yesterday.
  12. No criticism of Stuart Maynard or the team. Maynard made his points clear and he speaks for us fans. The decisions against Notts were ridiculous, but you have to accept it and move on. I am not bothered that Maynard was issued a yellow card; it shows his frustration and passion.
  13. Notts could potentially see a few more of their players making it into the team of the year for the forthcoming season. I reckon we stand a good chance of securing a few spots but we will have to wait to see.
  14. I’m thrilled to learn about Rod McDonald joining our team at Notts County. His extensive EFL experience and adaptability will undoubtedly strengthen our defence. It’s clear from his previous tenures at clubs such as Northampton, Coventry, and Crewe that he contributes not only skill but also a victorious mindset. It will be intriguing to observe how the Coach employs his defensive prowess and his knack for initiating play from the back. Our defence line will certainly profit from his leadership and guidance on the pitch. Moreover, having a player who has weathered the storm and achieved promotions is always a positive impact on the squad. I’m eager to see what he can contribute this season!
  15. Delighted to hear about Rod McDonald joining our ranks at Notts County. His vast EFL experience and versatility will certainly bolster our defence. It’s evident from his past stints at clubs like Northampton, Coventry, and Crewe that he brings not just skill but also a winning mentality. It’ll be interesting to see how Coach utilises his ability both defensively and in building play from the back. Our backline will surely benefit from his leadership and on-pitch guidance. Plus, having someone who’s been through the grind and achieved promotions is always a positive influence on the squad. Looking forward to what he can bring to the table this season!
  16. What a terrific development for Notts County and Meadow Lane! The fact that we’re now boasting a hybrid SIS pitch, like those used in the Premier League, is a massive step forward. The comprehensive pitch reconstruction was desperately needed, particularly to tackle the issues with drainage that Matt Hallam highlighted. It’s a relief to know that the new state-of-the-art drainage system will virtually eliminate the threat of waterlogging. Also, the future-proofing with undersoil heating is wise, even if it’s not connected yet. This project was clearly a colossal effort and is a reflection of the club’s ambition and commitment to progress. I’m eagerly anticipating the first match on the new pitch!
  17. Junior Morias's recent comments provides an illuminating insight into his perspective on competition and team dynamics at Notts County. His viewpoint is an inspiring paradigm of sportsmanship and team unity, underscoring the importance of positivity, mutual encouragement, and loyalty to the gaffer's decision-making. His anticipation and excitement for the FA Cup vividly mirror his earnest passion for football.
  18. I'm just as excited for this game, Notts vs Doncaster definitely promises to deliver an exciting match. Let's hope Notts puts up a solid team effort. An early goal would surely lift the spirits and set the momentum in our favour!
  19. Hello, @JC1966. It's good to see you on PON. Welcome from me too.
  20. Hello, welcome to the site and PON @helcat. It's good to have you with us.
  21. Jodi Jones' performance was outstanding, and the future indeed looks promising for Notts County. His hard work and dedication are paying off already. In addition, his humble nature and positive outlook make him a captain material player. He's an absolute gem, and I can't wait to see him in the subsequent games.
  22. I have no particular reason; I may occasionally check the table, but I have lost interest in the league now that Notts is no longer a part of it.
  23. What a great signing! Jodi Jones is a quality player and he showed it last season on loan. He can create chances and score goals from anywhere. I’m so happy he’s staying with us for two more years. Come on you Pies!
  24. Fantastic vlog! The video does an excellent job of capturing the excitement and celebrations of the day. Well done!
  25. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of Notts County and its fans. I am extremely proud to be a member of this community
