  1. Given the Bass situation and how it transpired, he would have been a good option as #1
  2. No we aren't changing our set up but this....

  4. Good point @theAnticlough I was there at that game 17) substituting Iain McCulloch, before Gary Bailey breaks his leg 18) Aidy Thorpe being injured at the Goldstone Ground 19) Dijkstra's own goal at the Baseball Ground 20) Coventry City play off match #JusticeForMattTootle
  5. This is perhaps too simplistic in the scheme of things, especially when applied to football. Either it means diluting the Bros shareholding or if as a 3rd party loan, what security is asked for in case the Club cannot pay it back.
  6. Excellent points @menzinho @Chris @DangerousSausage Sustainability is knowing that an annual loss of say, £1m to £1.2m is "sustainable" with the funding from the Bros. in place The risk of not being ready for EFL1 can be shown by Carlisle. Promoted at Wembley then successive relegations to the National League. We are long overdue a cup run, the dream of Old Trafford away in the FA Cup may yield a £1m bonus... I remember I think Exeter City saying it funded them for 3 years on the back of it. The Bros have been the best owners for Notts in donkey's years. All this nonsense that monies should be directed to the team.... well it was under Hardy and looked what happened, we fell into the National League. Furthermore, I never thought in my remaining lifetime, that we would be getting a base of 10k crowds every home game. I remember Scardino's "8(k) through the Gate" was a pipedream then. Investments like the Nest carry perhaps zero risk, as the land could revert to industrial use quite easily. The income boost of the Nest really does help #Notts overall.
  7. So many sliding door moments over the years 1) When Raddy Avramovic returned from North America, only to be told by Sirrel that he couldn't re sign him as there was no budget with Seamus McDonagh having being signed as our #1 goalkeeper. 2) Glenn Roeder.. I still believe to this day, the supporters had raised their half of the monies... Jack Dunnett pocketing my £15 ( doesnt sound much now but £15 was a lot to me back then) 3) Gazza not receiving a red card in the FA Cup at Spurs #JusticeForHarding 4) Signing Tony Hack-worthless on a 5 year contract 5) Agana or Deane... Mick Jones, Warnock's assistant, told me the choice was presented to Pavis, as it was "his money". Agana's fee, a write off. 6) Failing to sign Ian Taylor, then of Moor Green Rovers, He played for Notts in a friendly ( I was there), only then to be signed by Port Vale..then Villa..the rest is history. 7) Releasing Darren Huckerby from the youth team 8) Allegedly Sirrel tried to sign Ruud Gullit from HFC Haarlem but Dunnett turned down the chance to fund the transfer 9) Big Sam "keys under the door"... Bolton subsequently fined for poaching but no compensation was ever paid to #Notts 10) Phil Robinson bringing Stan Collymore over for training from Stafford. Warnock not impressed as Stan just goal hanged in a practice match allegedly. 11) Poor managerial appointments Larry Lloyd, Howard Kendall, Kiwomya, Fullarton 12) Injury prone signings Dave Robinson, £425k Peterborough to #Notts in 1992. Only played 3 times. Honourable mentions for the likes of Danny Haynes 13) Not being able to sign Matt Richie whilst on loan 14) Munto fiasco.. OK we came out of it and survived but the lack of due diligence nearly cost us our club's existence 15) Missed signing Warren Barton who was outstanding against Notts whilst playing for Maidstone 16) Selling players perhaps below their true value at the time? : McSwegan, Yates, Needham, Masson, Busby, Barnes...edit Steve Finnan to Fulham especially

  10. Playing budgets would have been set already by each and every EFL club. As we approach the first weekend, players still available will have to consult with their agents for a lesser salary..the fear of no salary post 2nd August!
  11. Just an out and out another #9 needed.... I still feel the Portugese will come back with a EUR 750k for Jatta and he will go. Traore, Edwards to be listed? Cisse and Reynolds loans?
