  1. If Aborah doesnt feature , and I think he won't , then hopefully the journos will ask the question as it needs to be made clear what the situation is
  2. I think , given the last two away performances then building on those two wins needs to happen for some positivity and to keep things moving. A chance to see if Mackenzie has had an impact in terms of organisation of the defence and also if the rest of the team can express themselves a bit more in terms of creativity. I wouldn't want to second guess a line up because the manager will put the team out which he thinks will win.. and wont be scared to either take folk out or put folk in if he thinks they will do the business. I actually think it will be 0 - 3 with an early goal putting York on the back foot right from the start. COYP !
  3. I must admit to being very excited to see how tomorrow pans out , however, I am also from Scotland... and one thing supporting Scotland has a habit of doing is booting you right in the b**ls when you least expect it ....so tomorrow's result and performance is also tinged with some trepidation!! A win first and foremost, to nil preferably ....and a positive performance to give the Meadow Lane faithful a wee spring in their step for the weekend ...COYP !
  4. I'm not convinced that Aborah is in the picture, particularly in a starting berth. If he was a starter and considered one of the better players by the fans and then out of the picture when the new manager came in then it can only mean that either a) the manager doesn't fancy him which would be odd considering the general consensus of the fans or b ) something has happened for the manager to put him down the pecking order. If he's not involved then maybe the press will 'press' the manager on it but the bottom line is ...if the team keep winning then he won't need to justify it as his selections are doing the business Personally I can't see any manager leaving a quality player out unless they either say they aren't interested or show it day to day. Hey, he could be playing tomorrow, in which case....ignore me !!!
  5. Yeah I think that , given the reaction to the performance at home to Wimbledon, Notts would do well to win this one to nil...preferably by 2 or 3. I think that will be enough to get the wimbledon monkey off his back and kick on for the next few games
  6. Exactly ...a good start and hopefully some momentum moving into February.
  7. To be fair there was quite a bit of criticism of him directly, maybe not from you, but there was across social media ( granted that's not necessarily a yardstick of all fans) At the end of the day in terms of management at first team level then yes he's a novice in terms of being in sole charge. I did worry however, that regardless of how things progressed for him that some fans would automatically use that as a stick to beat him with very quickly as soon as any negatives came to light ( wimbledon for example) I think results so far have gone some way to appeasing that in part...but there is a way to go yet I think this forum, in comparison to others, is pretty sensible as I have read some quite alarming stuff elsewhere !!
  8. I thought Alan Smith spoke very well after the game ... and I'm pleased he didn't leave for Plymouth...I think he is a great influence to have around the squad
  9. That's the big miss for me for some of the fans. They appear to reject everything at the moment and then a 'meet the manager' is scheduled and the same folk say 'no thanks' or 'what's the point?'.. The point is that it's easy to hit a keyboard and criticise a 'novice' but it's harder to front up and ask the guy sensible questions in person or share your frustrations ? Ask anyone in the game who knows this lad and they will tell you how focused, hard working and driven he is and always has been. Does that guarantee success ? Absolutely not ....but what it will bring is a guy who will go and meet fans and look them in the eye and answer questions. ill repeat this for the avoidance of doubt on here ... I am not related to Jamie Fullarton but I'm involved in the game in Scotland and want to see scots succeed .. Especially young scots (OK I'm a bit biased) I genuinely think that Notts have a huge opportunity to succeed and bring some positivity to Meadow Lane... But you need to go and have a chat and look the manager in the eye and ask , otherwise you'll never know. This lad has a hard enough task but if Notts fans give him, and the team some well needed positivity then progress will be much swifter. I really do believe that Soap box away COYP !
  10. Not at all, The aborah one is strange but I s'pose those behind the scenes know the reasons for his omission? The players are always going to be positive about the manager publicly I guess, but nevertheless, I thought Alan Smith spoke very well after the game. To be fair to @Dripsey3 , the next three games are winnable which makes yesterdays result even more positive after Wimbledon. The thing is , teams occasionally play badly, it happens...all teams... regardless of size or manager...I just hope that last week can be classed as that and the team can move forward
  11. No problem at all , was a touch frustrated last night ...and personally I don't think either of you need a break .. It just seems circumstances have got folk focussing on all things negative and I get that. I just think it'll be easier for the players and staff to kick on if the mood music improves around them Hey , if it all goes pear shaped you can slaughter me .. But I think this great club is slowly .. Slowly moving in the right direction. I work weekends but will be at the game on 5th March and happy to buy you a pint
  12. I noticed you didn't answer my question about whether you were at the game? Since starting on this forum I have been his wife and his dad....and now just 'personally connected' So I'm biased? lets look at the facts then? No win away from home since the first day? Notts now have two in a row with two clean sheets Biq squad and already players are being shipped out to trim the playing staff Its ironic as you think I'm biased and yet your bias clings on to the wimbledon game which , admittedly was poor, but it was his second game in charge? i.e. probably trained with the players for 8 days in total?? The bottom line is that you appear hugely negative even when, even after a win today, you still talk about 'neanderthal' tactics and yet people who went to the game tell a very different story? why is that? and yet I'm biased?? and to top it off...despite being a beacon of negativity... you 'expect' 9 points from the next three games? brilliant. I'll keep trying to be positive/his dad/his wife/personally connected.....you stick to lazy insults and unhelpful comments eh? and for the record ...I don't do cheerleading .....I just dont see the point in running your own club down...go and look at Luton's forums or Facebook page tonight...see how their fans react to a guy in the job for three games who just lost at home .and the fact they aren't burning him at the stake.....it might enlighten you
  13. @Dripsey3 Did you go to the game?
  14. neanderthal? really ? two wins , two clean sheets away from home and you can't even give any credit but call it neanderthal? one bad performance from the team in his SECOND game and the bandwagon rolls ? surely you aren't that bitter?
  15. first half stats didnt look good but had chances apparently
  16. Ha ha just winding you up...lets hope they see it out with a clean sheet .....COYP !
  17. Hows that prediction going.........
  18. I think last week wasn't great all round, I just meant in training etc .. Can't think of any other reason he'd be left out . judging by a lot of folk online he has a mammoth task with some fans ... And an impossible task with some .. But I agree , let's hope for success today ;0)
  19. Can't disagree with that but it may not be a case of forcing anyone out . When the manager was asked yesterday he said he wasn't injured but then talked about the 4 things that affects selection. Might actually just be the case that aborah has seen the guy who signed him leave and doesn't fancy it ? Not saying that's the case but if he is that good then makes no sense for the manager to leave him out unless he's not putting a shift in? It's hard to judge unless we see how those relationships are day to day I s'pose
  20. Imo abhorah won't play .. Fullarton was asked by the press specifically about him today and he talked about attitude , fitness , injuries etc.. Reading between the lines the lad isn't doing the business since his arrival so I don't think he will use him. Hopefully a more attacking stance and more pressure on the ball tomorrow
  21. Mainly because he has been at the club for 2 weeks ........
  22. Surely you have to give someone a period to make their mark ?? A lot of Notts fans were shouting for John Sheridan as the new Notts boss ? ... How did Oldham do today ?? Should he now be sacked ? Relax and give the lad a chance is all I'm saying .., and no .. I am no relation to him
  23. Funny .. On my first post I was his dad ? all I'm saying is that it's two games .. Surely the Notts fans are OK for more than 14 days for a new manager ?
  24. A new exposure to me to see Notts fans and their reaction...and it appears that it's feast or famine ... A disappointing result today against a team in form .., I'll be down to Meadow Lane shortly to see my first game but stay positive folks ... Poor result today but only 14 days in ... Let's not go mental yet !... But some will ....,,
  25. Another game against a team who have done well recently and looks like a few more options for Fullarton to consider in terms of players and positions. Lets hope for 3 points and some momentum to get the bandwagon rolling ! COYP
