  1. Pre-season results are always worth taking with a pinch of salt, but it's encouraging to hear we played well. For me, the biggest positives are fitness, building partnerships, and seeing how the manager wants us to play. If we're becoming flexible enough to change formations depending on the opposition, that's a good sign—it shows we're not going to be one-dimensional this season. I'm not a huge fan of behind-closed-doors friendlies either, as they're a missed opportunity for supporters to see the team, but if they help the club assess trialists and prepare properly, I understand why they're used. A 2–1 away win at West Brom is still a confidence boost, even if the real test starts when the league season kicks off.
  2. Anyone seen these two Magpie rascals, last spotted running down Meadow Lane. 🤣🤫
  3. Good morning to one and all, what a lovely day so far. Thank you @Fan of Big Tone i think the antibiotics are starting to kick in and things are improving slightly. From experience i know success is not immediate, so I'm being a patient patient. Good results on the blood front, just the eyes to sort now eh? Thank you also @Chris it makes it such a pleasure to hear positive talk, weather it is banter, football or just a chat, it seems everything is always from the heart. A few words for Mr Infantino and Mr Trump :- We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended. 🤑
  4. One to cheer 😄 A simplified urine test that may be relevant for at least some of us men..... Go outside and pee in the garden. If ants gather:- diabetes. If you pee on your feet:- prostate. If it smells like a barbecue:- cholesterol. If when you shake it, your wrist hurts:- osteoarthritis. If you return to the house with your penis still outside your pants:- Alzheimer's 🤣
  5. No need to apologise @Chris as I said before, we are all behind you, and I am glad that you are feeling alot better 😊 Look after those eyes @Fan of Big Tone they are a precious asset. Not done much today as I am feeling a little under the weather, yet another urine infection, so having to take antibiotics for a week. Having had Prostrate Cancer, had it removed and suffered 2 years of incontinence, the artificial sphincter i have fitted tends to be great most of the time, but every now and then decides to cause a little infection, still it's better than wearing nappies. 🤠
  6. Looking at it i find things understandable as :- From Jatta's perspective: It's a step up to a top-flight European league. He'll have the chance to test himself at a higher level and potentially earn a bigger contract. At 27, this is probably the ideal time in his career to make that move. But, and it is a but. From Notts County's perspective: Losing a striker who scored so many important goals is a huge blow. Replacing his goals and physical presence won't be easy, especially as the club prepares for life in League One. If the transfer fee is reinvested well, it could strengthen the squad overall, but there is always a risk when you sell your main goalscorer. I'd say it's one of those transfers that supporters understand but don't enjoy. Jatta became a real favourite at Meadow Lane, not least because of his goals and his role in helping County win promotion. The big question now is whether Martin Paterson's recruitment team can find someone capable of replacing those 17 league goals. If they can't, County's ambitions this season become much harder. Or have we already achieved that with the latest signings? ⚽️
  7. Good morning one and all, I hope that you had a lovely weekend and are ready for this week's heatwave ☀️ glad to hear that your eyes are improving @Fan of Big Tone think I'm coming out in sympathy with you and your ailments as my migraines are getting more severe and lasting longer nowadays. Not a great deal of rain here in the midshires either, so we have had to increase feeding hay to our horses as there is no grass to keep them going. Lovely pictures once again @Piethagoram so serene and stunning views. Not so in France and Spain as Wildfires are claiming lives, properties and causing mayhem coupled with confusion. I feel it for the Firefighters who are working so hard for little reward. They are throwing everything at the situation with little or no reward. Although homes and businesses have been burned to the ground, most people and their pets have been evacuated, unfortunately wildlife is fighting for itself. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are involved, may it all end soon without to much human and animal loss. 🙏🙏🙏
  8. @Chris no one blames you for anything, where would we be without you my friend. You know that you have the backing from the majority on here, please don’t let someone/something as miniscule as this upset you and ruin your devotion to the PON. We all know and understand the depth of care and consideration you apply to this and we appreciate everything you do. Don't let a narrow minded bigot change you my friend. Stay strong and ignore. Today is a lovely warm day and the horses appreciated their hay and fresh water as you can see below.
  9. What a beautiful morning down at the paddock this morning, rabbits galore enjoying the early morning sunrise, birds of all shapes and sizes singing to open the dawn chorus. Refreshing to feel a breeze on ones face and the sun breaking through, giving it's warmth, helping all to make a wonderful start to the day. All done, time to walk home (about 10 minutes) grab breakfast and see what needs attention today. 🤔Then later out to my favourite Indian restaurant The Water Liley for a well earned meal (Birthday voucher to take the wallet strain).🤑 Have a great day everyone 🤠
  10. Luka Smyth has signed for Notts County after an impressive run of form with Finnish club VPS, where he scored seven goals in his opening 14 league matches of the 2026 season. At 22 years old his biggest strengths are: Physical presence: At around 6ft 4in (1.93m), he gives defenders plenty to think about and is strong in the air. Penalty-box instincts: Most of his goals come from good movement inside the box rather than spectacular long-range efforts. Work rate: He presses defenders and is willing to battle for long balls, which can bring midfielders into play. Could this be the piece Martin has been looking for to complete the puzzle? Only time will tell, COYP ⚽️🤠
  11. Sorry to hear about your eyes @Fan of Big Tone i hope they can get on top of it as something like that can be so frustrating and a pain. Yes I must admit that I was so glad Spain won the World Cup, they were an example throughout the tournament, the other team were simply outplayed and reacted (suprise, surprise) with ungentlemany conduct and violence. @Chris hope you have a great day with your dad and family members as you did Saturday. Nothing beats family time. I do hope that @The Anti-Clough is OK, please let us know if you are contacted @Chris Everywhere looks so bland, The sun has bleached all the land. Mrs rabbit searching for grass, Nothing doing, you'll have to pass. The only remedy this time of course, Is feeding hay to each and every horse. Every day we pray for rain, The weather forecast is dry again. Another spell with nothing forecast, How long will this misery last. Keep the faith, all soon will change, Frost, snow and rain is within range. Have a great day/week everyone 🤠
  12. Welcome to Pon @Paul Reaney please dive in as the waters are calm pre season, things could get a little choppy as we progress, but never fear we have Martin at the helm. Enjoy the banter and camaraderie and feel free to give your all to the cause. 🤠
  13. Looks too much like last seasons shirt for me at a glance. I have to agree with @StarkMallard the design is a little wanting, next we'll be wearing all black with hardly any white. Come on Puma let's have some historic thoughts in future designs please.
  14. Good morning, on the LNER train to London, off to Wembley Stadium ready for Bruno Mars this evening 😀 Sorry to hear about your eye problem @Fan of Big Tone and it hindering your park run, maybe a reason behind it. An eye patch might help 👍☠️🏴‍☠️🦜 but please don't turn into a pirate, eye eye 🤣
  15. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 No heart, no passion. Manager not good enough. 🇦🇷 Totally committed, full of heart and passion. You could see it in their eyes.
