  1. The Reedtz brothers have clearly brought stability and direction, but football will always stir emotion that data cannot fully capture. Supporters judge things on atmosphere, results, and how the team makes them feel on a Saturday. You can understand why some fans get frustrated when they hear business-like answers that sound detached. At the same time, it’s worth remembering the state of the club before their arrival. We have structure, ambition, and a clear path forward. The challenge is bridging the gap between calculated planning and the raw emotion that defines the game for so many.

  2. This felt like the sort of game we might have struggled with last season, even to a point earlier in this season. So it was encouraging to see the lads grind it out. Fleetwood made it difficult and probably shaded the first half, but we defended well enough to stay level. The goal straight after the break gave us the lift we needed, and Dennis finished it brilliantly. It could have been two or three with the chances that followed, but even at 1-0 we looked more comfortable as the game went on. The substitutions helped steady things. Grant, Robertson and Traoré all worked hard after coming on. Sometimes a tight, scrappy win says more about progress than a big scoreline.

  3. The first half felt flat, but credit to Martin Paterson for making changes at the break. Bringing Kellan Gordon on instantly shifted the momentum, and the way Matt Dennis and Jatta combined showed that this team has attacking options that can cause problems. The defence then stood firm in those nervy final minutes, which is something we’ve needed to see more of away from home.

  4. It’s hard not to feel like that was two points lost. Dennis scoring twice should have been enough for us to see the game out. Bromley didn’t create much until we allowed them to, and even then the equaliser was a huge stroke of luck. I thought the referee was poor too, some of the fouls were harsh on us while Bromley got away with more. Jones going off changed our attack as well, we missed his runs and energy. Overall it wasn’t a bad performance, but we’ve got to be more ruthless when ahead. Still, encouraging signs with Dennis in this sort of form.

  5. I think Jodi being one of the longest-serving players now adds a lot to the squad. He knows the club, the fans, and what’s expected here. Hearing him talk about promotion as the main goal shows he’s still as hungry as ever. Paterson pushing him to score more is exactly the type of challenge that can take him to another level. We already know what he can do as a creator, but imagine him getting into double figures for goals too. The first home game of the season is always a big occasion and Jodi Jones sounds ready for it.

  6. The first half was probably the best I've seen us look for a long time away from home. We completely controlled it and the players seemed very confident on the ball. Really unlucky not to go ahead with the effort that hit the bar and a few others that just didn’t fall right. Jodi Jones was at the heart of everything good, and it was great to see him take the penalty so well.

  7. Bringing in young players on loan is somewhat risky but this seems like a sensible move. He has been at reputable clubs & appears to have the right attitude to step up. Standing at 6'3" and with some Championship experience he could provide something we've lacked, more power and energy in midfield. It's beneficial that he's versatile especially considering injuries can disrupt our formation during the season. If he remains fit he might surprise some teams. It will be intriguing to see whether we deploy him in a holding role or give him more freedom to venture forward.

  8. Great match and a fair result in the end. Jatta’s early goal showed how well-drilled the team is in their patterns and set plays. It’s impressive to see such a plan come to life. The team’s energy in the opening 20 minutes set the pace, and credit to them for staying solid against Doncaster’s second-half pressure. Maynard’s right about the fans, they truly drove the lads on. A draw away is always decent in this league especially with the current injuries within our camp.

  9. I think this was a game where Matty Platt really showed his leadership at the back. The first half was cagey, and we didn’t look like ourselves, but the way the defence stayed organised was key. Platt’s ability to get forward for corners has been excellent, and today it paid off. He’s right when he says we needed to keep things tight and avoid sloppy mistakes, and you could see how much they focused on that. His goal was a bonus and a deserved reward for his hard work. Great to see the team bounce back and keep the clean sheet, especially after the last two home results. Up the Pies!

  10. Not much to cheer about from this match, unfortunately. The performance, while not poor, still left much to be desired. The decision against us was a harsh reminder of the uncertainties of football. Yet, one can’t help but think we wasted too many opportunities to stamp our authority on the game. The game's tempo was in our favour at times, yet we failed to make that count. Injuries have indeed taken a toll, but good teams find ways to win despite adversity. The squad will be back to full strength soon. Chesterfield is up next, and I've every belief the team will come out with renewed determination.

  11. I’m really liking Maynard’s approach to managing the squad’s fitness and form. The balance between keeping key players fresh and integrating the new signings has been crucial so far, especially with injuries to McGoldrick and Grant. Bass’s impact can’t be understated either, he’s not only solid at the back but also offers a lot going forward with his distribution. Maynard’s comments about mixing up our tactics make sense too. We can’t afford to be too predictable, and Bass’s ability to play long balls adds an extra dimension. It’s good to see that Maynard isn’t just focused on one way of playing but is willing to adapt based on the situation. Hopefully, we’ll see that come into play against Port Vale.

  12. Since his arrival, Palmer has always been a key player for Notts County, and his return was absolutely vital for our recent win. His ability to rally the team after such a poor start showcases his leadership qualities. It’s not just about his skill on the ball, but his presence and influence that clearly elevate the team’s performance. The comeback was a testament to the squad's character and determination, much of which can be attributed to Palmer’s influence. His praise for his teammates, especially Jones, shows his humility and recognition of the collective effort. It's these elements that make him an outstanding captain and a much-loved figure at the club. Thrilled to have him back!

  13. Curtis Edwards really showed his class in the 4-1 victory over Grimsby. His move to a more advanced role allowed him to influence the game more directly, and it was great to see him perform so well after a challenging cup match. His comments about the team's support following his mistakes in the cup match highlight the strong team spirit at Notts. The fans' presence and encouragement at Meadow Lane must give the players a huge boost. Edwards' adaptability and team-oriented mindset are exactly what we need to push forward this season. With his experience and determination, I believe he can make a significant impact as we aim for more victories.

  14. The match was a true showcase of Notts County’s attacking potential. Dan Crowley’s brace was a testament to his sharpness and positioning. The early goal by Jatta set the tone, and the team never looked back. Jones’ stunning strike right before half-time was a class act, and it effectively sealed Grimsby's fate. I have to commend the defence as well; they held firm against any threat that Grimsby tried to muster in the second half. Overall, it was a complete performance from front to back.

  15. Conor Grant's goal is just a glimpse of what he can offer, I was particularly impressed by his pragmatic view of the transfer and how he’s adjusted so quickly. It's not easy settling into a new team, especially so close to the start of the season. Nonetheless, Grant's previous experience and his ability to perform under pressure could be key for us. The new pitch at Meadow Lane looks fantastic, and having a player who appreciates it can only mean good things for our home games.

  16. Jacob Bedeau had a commendable start to his Notts County career with a clean sheet against Tranmere Rovers. His defensive prowess was very much on display, showcasing his ability to adapt mid-game and fill different roles effectively. Bedeau's analysis of the match and his focus on both possession play and necessary clearances is reassuring.

It's clear he is aware of the defensive challenges from last season and is determined to turn things around. His composed and confident approach, alongside Matty Platt and Lewis Macari, provided a strong defensive front. This positive start sets the tone for what could be a very successful season.

  17. Lucien Mahovo's transfer to Norwich City is a noteworthy development. At just 19, he's already garnered attention in higher divisions, which speaks volumes about his talent and dedication. Notts County has played a crucial role in his growth, and their pride in his achievements is entirely justified. Moving from a club like Notts to Norwich, which boasts better facilities and competitive football, will be a great experience for him.

This move highlights the importance of academies in shaping young players. Notts County can take pride in having nurtured Lucien to this point. On the flip side, it's a brilliant opportunity for Lucien to prove his mettle at a higher level. If Norwich City can offer him enough game time, I believe he can develop into a prominent player in English football. Looking forward to seeing his progress!

  18. Connell Rawlinson, who is leaving the club, has chosen his words well. He sends out a positive message about his time here. When Stuart Maynard arrived, Rawlinson seemed to be largely left out of the squad. It appeared that this was likely to happen. His departure, though expected, leaves a lasting impression. His positivity will be remembered.

  19. Matt Palmer represents the very essence of resilience and perseverance. Despite facing significant challenges with his injury, his spirits never wavered. It’s impressive to see how he turned his personal milestone in New York into a motivational boost for his professional life. His new role as vice-captain signifies the club’s confidence in his abilities. Palmer’s journey is an inspiring read for anyone who loves football and values the spirit of never giving up.

  20. Having someone like Alex Bass join Notts County is exactly what we needed! His tenure at AFC Wimbledon demonstrated his skill, and his near-win of the Golden Glove, even with that unlucky injury, proves his calibre. His interview was genuinely insightful, highlighting his professional journey and his excitement about what lies ahead. It's clear Bass sees the potential in our club and is ready to help us climb the leagues. Can't wait to see him defend our goalposts this season.

  21. I completely support Stuart Maynard. I don’t understand why some fans can’t reserve their judgement and give a manager a fair chance with a series of games before criticising his lack of experience. Just like Luke Williams was still learning about management, it will be the same for Maynard. I think he did quite well in his first game against Barrow. We didn’t just play defensively, but made changes to enhance our attacking play. All we needed was that second goal. So far, the signs are promising.

  22. Stuart Maynard exudes a level of calm and preparedness that's been missing. It's not just about tactics and training under him, it's about building a winning mentality. This attention to both the physical and mental aspects of the game could be the difference-maker. It seems like there's real a game plan being instilled, and with the extra prep time, I'm betting we'll see immediate results. Can't wait to see the Maynard effect in action.

  23. Really promising development with Warner joining Notts. His experience at a Championship level points to his quality and the fact that he is only 21 suggests there's plenty of room for growth. It's a testament to our club's growing reputation for developing young talent that a player of his calibre has chosen us. Can't wait to see him bring stability and a new dimension to our defence.
