  1. Honestly, I thought Jacob Bedeau was our best player. However, some fans seem to be very critical of him. I heard someone compare him to Kyle Cameron, but as a better defender. I don't think comments like that reflect his true ability. His performance was superb, and he deserves recognition for it.
  2. What a game and a fair result in the end. Jatta’s early goal demonstrated how well-prepared the team is in their drills and strategies. It’s amazing to see such a plan executed perfectly. The team's energy in the first 20 minutes was outstanding, setting the tone for the match. Well done to them for holding firm against Doncaster’s pressure in the second half. Maynard is spot on about the fans, their support truly lifted the team. Securing a draw away from home is always a good result in this league, especially considering our current injury list. The lads showed great resilience and determination throughout the match.
  3. Great match and a fair result in the end. Jatta’s early goal showed how well-drilled the team is in their patterns and set plays. It’s impressive to see such a plan come to life. The team’s energy in the opening 20 minutes set the pace, and credit to them for staying solid against Doncaster’s second-half pressure. Maynard’s right about the fans, they truly drove the lads on. A draw away is always decent in this league especially with the current injuries within our camp.
  4. I think this was a game where Matty Platt really showed his leadership at the back. The first half was cagey, and we didn’t look like ourselves, but the way the defence stayed organised was key. Platt’s ability to get forward for corners has been excellent, and today it paid off. He’s right when he says we needed to keep things tight and avoid sloppy mistakes, and you could see how much they focused on that. His goal was a bonus and a deserved reward for his hard work. Great to see the team bounce back and keep the clean sheet, especially after the last two home results. Up the Pies!
  5. Not much to cheer about from this match, unfortunately. The performance, while not poor, still left much to be desired. The decision against us was a harsh reminder of the uncertainties of football. Yet, one can’t help but think we wasted too many opportunities to stamp our authority on the game. The game's tempo was in our favour at times, yet we failed to make that count. Injuries have indeed taken a toll, but good teams find ways to win despite adversity. The squad will be back to full strength soon. Chesterfield is up next, and I've every belief the team will come out with renewed determination.
  6. It’s significant to approach this match with both caution and confidence. Our recent results highlight our depth and adaptability. Midfield play will be the heart of winning this game. If Palmer can orchestrate from the centre, keeping it simple yet effective, we’ve got a real chance. Port Vale will test us, especially with their ability to transition quickly, but our backline resilience should hold firm. Jatta's inclusion can be pivotal before hitting them on the break.
  7. I’m really liking Maynard’s approach to managing the squad’s fitness and form. The balance between keeping key players fresh and integrating the new signings has been crucial so far, especially with injuries to McGoldrick and Grant. Bass’s impact can’t be understated either, he’s not only solid at the back but also offers a lot going forward with his distribution. Maynard’s comments about mixing up our tactics make sense too. We can’t afford to be too predictable, and Bass’s ability to play long balls adds an extra dimension. It’s good to see that Maynard isn’t just focused on one way of playing but is willing to adapt based on the situation. Hopefully, we’ll see that come into play against Port Vale.
  8. Since his arrival, Palmer has always been a key player for Notts County, and his return was absolutely vital for our recent win. His ability to rally the team after such a poor start showcases his leadership qualities. It’s not just about his skill on the ball, but his presence and influence that clearly elevate the team’s performance. The comeback was a testament to the squad's character and determination, much of which can be attributed to Palmer’s influence. His praise for his teammates, especially Jones, shows his humility and recognition of the collective effort. It's these elements that make him an outstanding captain and a much-loved figure at the club. Thrilled to have him back!
  9. Curtis Edwards really showed his class in the 4-1 victory over Grimsby. His move to a more advanced role allowed him to influence the game more directly, and it was great to see him perform so well after a challenging cup match. His comments about the team's support following his mistakes in the cup match highlight the strong team spirit at Notts. The fans' presence and encouragement at Meadow Lane must give the players a huge boost. Edwards' adaptability and team-oriented mindset are exactly what we need to push forward this season. With his experience and determination, I believe he can make a significant impact as we aim for more victories.
  10. The match was a true showcase of Notts County’s attacking potential. Dan Crowley’s brace was a testament to his sharpness and positioning. The early goal by Jatta set the tone, and the team never looked back. Jones’ stunning strike right before half-time was a class act, and it effectively sealed Grimsby's fate. I have to commend the defence as well; they held firm against any threat that Grimsby tried to muster in the second half. Overall, it was a complete performance from front to back.
  11. Conor Grant's goal is just a glimpse of what he can offer, I was particularly impressed by his pragmatic view of the transfer and how he’s adjusted so quickly. It's not easy settling into a new team, especially so close to the start of the season. Nonetheless, Grant's previous experience and his ability to perform under pressure could be key for us. The new pitch at Meadow Lane looks fantastic, and having a player who appreciates it can only mean good things for our home games.
  12. Jacob Bedeau had a commendable start to his Notts County career with a clean sheet against Tranmere Rovers. His defensive prowess was very much on display, showcasing his ability to adapt mid-game and fill different roles effectively. Bedeau's analysis of the match and his focus on both possession play and necessary clearances is reassuring. It's clear he is aware of the defensive challenges from last season and is determined to turn things around. His composed and confident approach, alongside Matty Platt and Lewis Macari, provided a strong defensive front. This positive start sets the tone for what could be a very successful season.
  13. Really enjoyed reading about Grant’s journey so far and his hopes for the future with Notts. It’s clear that he’s been through a lot with MK Dons, especially dealing with relegation, but his determination to learn and move forward is commendable. What stands out to me is how he’s drawn to the club’s ambitions and Stuart Maynard’s approach to the game.
  14. I don’t have the luxury of dwelling on how his departure came about. It’s a done deal, and I’ve come to terms with it. It’s better that we received something in return for him, rather than letting a talented player leave for free. We’ve lost many players without receiving any compensation, players we should have sold when the timing was right. Perhaps now isn’t the ideal time, but it’s happened. We need to accept it and wish him the best.
  15. I’d be taken aback if Millwall signed him just to have him on their bench, as they’re in need of a player who can score goals. All they need to do is figure out how to bring out the best in him. For us, he was a prolific scorer, and we knew exactly how to get him into positions where he could score. We shouldn’t underestimate Macaulay Langstaff’s value; he should have a few successful seasons with them. While I doubt he’ll play at a higher level, he could become a hero for them, just as he was for us.
  16. Lucien Mahovo's transfer to Norwich City is a noteworthy development. At just 19, he's already garnered attention in higher divisions, which speaks volumes about his talent and dedication. Notts County has played a crucial role in his growth, and their pride in his achievements is entirely justified. Moving from a club like Notts to Norwich, which boasts better facilities and competitive football, will be a great experience for him. This move highlights the importance of academies in shaping young players. Notts County can take pride in having nurtured Lucien to this point. On the flip side, it's a brilliant opportunity for Lucien to prove his mettle at a higher level. If Norwich City can offer him enough game time, I believe he can develop into a prominent player in English football. Looking forward to seeing his progress!
  17. Connell Rawlinson, who is leaving the club, has chosen his words well. He sends out a positive message about his time here. When Stuart Maynard arrived, Rawlinson seemed to be largely left out of the squad. It appeared that this was likely to happen. His departure, though expected, leaves a lasting impression. His positivity will be remembered.
  18. The new site is great! I hope the intrusive ads don’t make a comeback because they made reading articles a nuisance before. Now everything seems much more refined. I don’t mind ads, but the club needs to place them in areas that don’t disrupt the content.
  19. Hello, welcome @BiggestPieInGlasgow. Enjoy the site.
  20. How does the photograph confirm anything? Let me pose the question differently. Where is Will Evans in that image? Is he concealing himself in the manhole? I’m uncertain about what to make of it.
  21. At this stage, unless the potential signings were major arrivals, I’d be quite content to see how things progress. We need to offload Connell Rawlinson, Will Randall, and Aidan Stone before making any more decisions. The only exception is if it’s a quality player, then I get it, but we don’t need any more squad players.
  22. Matt Palmer represents the very essence of resilience and perseverance. Despite facing significant challenges with his injury, his spirits never wavered. It’s impressive to see how he turned his personal milestone in New York into a motivational boost for his professional life. His new role as vice-captain signifies the club’s confidence in his abilities. Palmer’s journey is an inspiring read for anyone who loves football and values the spirit of never giving up.
  23. Having someone like Alex Bass join Notts County is exactly what we needed! His tenure at AFC Wimbledon demonstrated his skill, and his near-win of the Golden Glove, even with that unlucky injury, proves his calibre. His interview was genuinely insightful, highlighting his professional journey and his excitement about what lies ahead. It's clear Bass sees the potential in our club and is ready to help us climb the leagues. Can't wait to see him defend our goalposts this season.
  24. I'm relatively new to this forum, but the warmth and support shown to @Piethagoram make me proud to be part of this community. It's rare to find a place online where people genuinely care for each other's wellbeing. Piethagoram, though we haven't interacted much, I'm wishing you a speedy recovery and hope to see your posts soon. The site isn't complete without you.
  25. Great vlog, the comments on the match were fair. Naturally, you’d be pleased.
