Announcement: Updates on upgrades and further site work - 3rd July
I really value everything that goes into this website. It's a breath of fresh air and I feel proud to be part of the community. I do wish I could do more, especially when it comes to helping out with the site's costs. But I understand that it’s not all about money. In a world where running a website brings lots of bills, it’s just nice to know there are people out there who are in a place to help. Thanks to everyone involved. I appreciate the update and all the effort that goes into keeping the site going.

The appointment of Dr David Rhodes as Director of Performance.
Anything Notts can do to cut down on injuries will be a positive step, and this appointment seems like a strong addition. His CV looks solid for a director of performance. The club could benefit from a couple of trainee junior analysts to help gather and break down data for him and whoever takes charge. It’s good to see Notts thinking outside the box.

What positions should Notts bring in next?
With a striker and midfielder already signed, what positions do you think Notts should focus on next? The question of replacing Sam Slocombe and Tyler Miller still needs to be answered. Is one keeper enough? Maybe the club should bring in another young talent, like they did with Tiernan Brooks. A centre back, winger, keeper, and attacking midfielder would be ideal. The attacking midfielder should be the kind of signing that makes other League Two teams jealous.

New training ground
It’s where we trained last season, on the furthest back pitch, and it makes sense to keep using it. Even at a higher level, as long as we have privacy and the facilities meet our needs, sharing is still a viable option. If we ever want to upgrade or make changes that the University of Nottingham won’t allow, then it would make sense to have our own setup.

Notts County Secure Season-Long Loan for Huddersfield Midfielder Tom Iorpenda
Bringing in young players on loan is somewhat risky but this seems like a sensible move. He has been at reputable clubs & appears to have the right attitude to step up. Standing at 6'3" and with some Championship experience he could provide something we've lacked, more power and energy in midfield. It's beneficial that he's versatile especially considering injuries can disrupt our formation during the season. If he remains fit he might surprise some teams. It will be intriguing to see whether we deploy him in a holding role or give him more freedom to venture forward.

Efficient Recruitment
I agree that a well-structured recruitment process contributes significantly to a club's achievements focusing on players whose skills and mentality align with the team's objectives, clubs can create a harmonious environment that promotes both individual and collective growth. His approach ensures that each addition strengthens the squad's overall dynamics.

Where are they now : Kyle Cameron
I think he would do well with Jacob Bedeau and Matty Platt alongside him. The problem is, he is not a right-sided centre back. I also believe some of our fans treated him unfairly while he was the captain. I wonder if the new arrivals, combined with the negativity directed at him, have made him want to move on. I wish him well at Barrow; it should be a good move. I don't see why Notts and Cameron can't come to an agreement to let him leave. He could then join Barrow or another team permanently.

Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Robins (H)
Swindon Town played poorly. They had some threats, but we dealt with them defensively for the most part. It's noteworthy that the times Swindon looked like they might score came from our own mistakes. David McGoldrick's short pass, intended for Alex Bass, was a comical error. Rod McDonald defended well against aerial threats, but with the ball at his feet, he looked a bit clumsy at times. Not to take away from his excellent performance, but we were lucky the errors didn't cost us. For instance, Alex Bass's throw-out in the second half went straight to a Swindon player with an open net. We defended well to manage that, but on another day, it could have punished us. I'm delighted with the win and overall performance; these are just points I kept thinking about. I wonder if it is being classed as a deflection rather than an own goal. Otherwise, it should have been awarded as an own goal. I am happy that Didzy is credited with it.

Who is your Man of the Match v Swindon?
Nobody shined more than David McGoldrick. It was a good team performance. It was nice to see Matt Palmer pulling the strings. I thought Josh Martin looked effective, and Sam Austin ran his heart out.

Josh Martin: Stay or Go?
You can't judge a player from a few brief appearances because Josh Martin seems to have settled well. There's definitely a player in him, so I would keep him if his wages are fair. The only reason not to extend his stay would be if his wages are higher than what a rotational player might get, which I doubt. We need to get the best out of players who arrive with low morale. They can be the biggest bargains, so we must ensure he doesn't lose his way.

Who is your Man of the match v Doncaster?
Honestly, I thought Jacob Bedeau was our best player. However, some fans seem to be very critical of him. I heard someone compare him to Kyle Cameron, but as a better defender. I don't think comments like that reflect his true ability. His performance was superb, and he deserves recognition for it.

Match Discussion: Game 15 - The Rovers (A)
What a game and a fair result in the end. Jatta’s early goal demonstrated how well-prepared the team is in their drills and strategies. It’s amazing to see such a plan executed perfectly. The team's energy in the first 20 minutes was outstanding, setting the tone for the match. Well done to them for holding firm against Doncaster’s pressure in the second half. Maynard is spot on about the fans, their support truly lifted the team. Securing a draw away from home is always a good result in this league, especially considering our current injury list. The lads showed great resilience and determination throughout the match.

Stuart Maynard Praises Alassana Jatta's 'Perfect Goal' and Fans' Role in Doncaster Clash
Great match and a fair result in the end. Jatta’s early goal showed how well-drilled the team is in their patterns and set plays. It’s impressive to see such a plan come to life. The team’s energy in the opening 20 minutes set the pace, and credit to them for staying solid against Doncaster’s second-half pressure. Maynard’s right about the fans, they truly drove the lads on. A draw away is always decent in this league especially with the current injuries within our camp.

‘A Tough Game, but We Deserved It’ – Matty Platt on the 1-0 Win Over AFC Wimbledon
I think this was a game where Matty Platt really showed his leadership at the back. The first half was cagey, and we didn’t look like ourselves, but the way the defence stayed organised was key. Platt’s ability to get forward for corners has been excellent, and today it paid off. He’s right when he says we needed to keep things tight and avoid sloppy mistakes, and you could see how much they focused on that. His goal was a bonus and a deserved reward for his hard work. Great to see the team bounce back and keep the clean sheet, especially after the last two home results. Up the Pies!

Stuart Maynard Laments Offside Decision in Port Vale’s Decisive Goal Against Notts County
Not much to cheer about from this match, unfortunately. The performance, while not poor, still left much to be desired. The decision against us was a harsh reminder of the uncertainties of football. Yet, one can’t help but think we wasted too many opportunities to stamp our authority on the game. The game's tempo was in our favour at times, yet we failed to make that count. Injuries have indeed taken a toll, but good teams find ways to win despite adversity. The squad will be back to full strength soon. Chesterfield is up next, and I've every belief the team will come out with renewed determination.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Valiants (H)
It’s significant to approach this match with both caution and confidence. Our recent results highlight our depth and adaptability. Midfield play will be the heart of winning this game. If Palmer can orchestrate from the centre, keeping it simple yet effective, we’ve got a real chance. Port Vale will test us, especially with their ability to transition quickly, but our backline resilience should hold firm. Jatta's inclusion can be pivotal before hitting them on the break.

Notts County's Tactical Evolution: Maynard’s Insights Before Facing Port Vale
I’m really liking Maynard’s approach to managing the squad’s fitness and form. The balance between keeping key players fresh and integrating the new signings has been crucial so far, especially with injuries to McGoldrick and Grant. Bass’s impact can’t be understated either, he’s not only solid at the back but also offers a lot going forward with his distribution. Maynard’s comments about mixing up our tactics make sense too. We can’t afford to be too predictable, and Bass’s ability to play long balls adds an extra dimension. It’s good to see that Maynard isn’t just focused on one way of playing but is willing to adapt based on the situation. Hopefully, we’ll see that come into play against Port Vale.

Matt Palmer Reflects on ‘Long Road’ to Returning for Notts County
Since his arrival, Palmer has always been a key player for Notts County, and his return was absolutely vital for our recent win. His ability to rally the team after such a poor start showcases his leadership qualities. It’s not just about his skill on the ball, but his presence and influence that clearly elevate the team’s performance. The comeback was a testament to the squad's character and determination, much of which can be attributed to Palmer’s influence. His praise for his teammates, especially Jones, shows his humility and recognition of the collective effort. It's these elements that make him an outstanding captain and a much-loved figure at the club. Thrilled to have him back!

Curtis Edwards Reflects on Impressive Notts County Victory and His Role Moving Forward
Curtis Edwards really showed his class in the 4-1 victory over Grimsby. His move to a more advanced role allowed him to influence the game more directly, and it was great to see him perform so well after a challenging cup match. His comments about the team's support following his mistakes in the cup match highlight the strong team spirit at Notts. The fans' presence and encouragement at Meadow Lane must give the players a huge boost. Edwards' adaptability and team-oriented mindset are exactly what we need to push forward this season. With his experience and determination, I believe he can make a significant impact as we aim for more victories.

Match Report: Dan Crowley Double Seals Notts County's 4-1 Triumph Against Grimsby Town
The match was a true showcase of Notts County’s attacking potential. Dan Crowley’s brace was a testament to his sharpness and positioning. The early goal by Jatta set the tone, and the team never looked back. Jones’ stunning strike right before half-time was a class act, and it effectively sealed Grimsby's fate. I have to commend the defence as well; they held firm against any threat that Grimsby tried to muster in the second half. Overall, it was a complete performance from front to back.

Conor Grant Excited for Meadow Lane Debut: 'The Pitch Looks Beautiful'
Conor Grant's goal is just a glimpse of what he can offer, I was particularly impressed by his pragmatic view of the transfer and how he’s adjusted so quickly. It's not easy settling into a new team, especially so close to the start of the season. Nonetheless, Grant's previous experience and his ability to perform under pressure could be key for us. The new pitch at Meadow Lane looks fantastic, and having a player who appreciates it can only mean good things for our home games.

New Signing Jacob Bedeau Thrilled to Be Part of Notts County's Journey
Jacob Bedeau had a commendable start to his Notts County career with a clean sheet against Tranmere Rovers. His defensive prowess was very much on display, showcasing his ability to adapt mid-game and fill different roles effectively. Bedeau's analysis of the match and his focus on both possession play and necessary clearances is reassuring. It's clear he is aware of the defensive challenges from last season and is determined to turn things around. His composed and confident approach, alongside Matty Platt and Lewis Macari, provided a strong defensive front. This positive start sets the tone for what could be a very successful season.

Conor Grant Eager to Make an Impact at Notts County After Signing From MK Dons
Really enjoyed reading about Grant’s journey so far and his hopes for the future with Notts. It’s clear that he’s been through a lot with MK Dons, especially dealing with relegation, but his determination to learn and move forward is commendable. What stands out to me is how he’s drawn to the club’s ambitions and Stuart Maynard’s approach to the game.

Macca to Millwall?
I don’t have the luxury of dwelling on how his departure came about. It’s a done deal, and I’ve come to terms with it. It’s better that we received something in return for him, rather than letting a talented player leave for free. We’ve lost many players without receiving any compensation, players we should have sold when the timing was right. Perhaps now isn’t the ideal time, but it’s happened. We need to accept it and wish him the best.
