  1. I don’t think there was much wrong with how the team performed in the first half. I think Notts should have kept the Shrewsbury fans on their team’s back more. The changes, while they might not have helped, take time for the players to get up to speed and add more pressure on those already on. Shrewsbury are a League One team, with a level of quality good enough to be decent in that league. Bowing out on penalties isn’t the worst outcome. Yes, Notts could have won, but the positives outweigh the negatives
  2. The Reedtz brothers have single-handedly transformed the club, given a lease of life to the staff to do their jobs, remained largely in the background, and enabled the club to start spending money on players that bring in a better quality than free agents alone can bring. I never felt they would invest like they have done, so when fans say they lack ambition, I don’t think they are credible supporters because they lack the thanks and understanding of how small a club we are and how out of it we had been due to the decline Alan Hardy put on us for falling out of the Football League to begin with. I am thankful. I feel we are in good hands, and I am more than prepared to wait for a higher level of football because giving them the time to continue will make Notts County better in the long term.
  3. The game was thrilling, but losing on penalties was tough. Our first-half performance was strong, but we couldn’t maintain it. Shrewsbury’s comeback tested us. Despite the loss, we controlled possession and created chances. Let’s focus on the league.
  4. Hello, @Mark Holland, Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham! Delighted to have you with us.
  5. Ian Marsden's story is a beautiful reflection of what it means to be a true football fan. His unwavering dedication to Notts County, despite the personal challenges he faces, is admirable. The way he intertwines his love for the club with his family life, especially creating special moments with his daughter Paige, highlights the unique bond football can create. Ian's ability to find joy and meaning in the sport, even when faced with adversities, speaks volumes about his character and passion. His experiences, from being a junior Magpie to commentating at Wembley, show his deep connection to the club that goes beyond just being a fan. It's a testament to the lasting impact football can have on one's life.
  6. Curtis Edwards joining Notts County is exciting news. His history of playing in Europa League matches, including against Arsenal, should bring a lot of excitement to the fans. It’s great to see our board and recruitment team bringing in players with genuine pedigree. I’m really looking forward to seeing him in action at Meadow Lane. Welcome, Curtis!
  7. It’s inspiring to see how far he’s come, his journey through Crawley Town has been nothing short of spectacular. Aiding in promotion speaks volumes of his talent and determination. I’m thrilled he’s now with us and look forward to seeing how he contributes to our squad. His ability to perform in both offensive and defensive roles will be crucial.
  8. Brilliant news! Bass had an excellent season at Wimbledon. He’ll be a huge asset for us next season.
  9. Will the match be fast-paced? Many say that AFC Wimbledon likes to counter-attack and wouldn’t mind if we controlled the ball. This is quite different from Notts’ style. It might lead to a chaotic and fun game. Let’s increase our concentration, regain possession quickly, and create solid opportunities. Hopefully, Notts will emerge victorious.
  10. Maynard's focusing on both our defensive structure and our attacking opportunities shows he's leaving no stone unturned. Reflecting on past encounters, understanding Wimbledon's play, and emphasising our strengths suggests Maynard has a comprehensive plan. Encouraging the team to be proactive in seeking goal chances while also ensuring defensive solidity resonates well with the unpredictable nature of League Two football. This blend of caution and aggression could very well be the key to overcoming Wimbledon's formidable defense.
  11. The late postponement against Bradford was a setback, but Maynard’s approach to keeping the team focused and making the most out of a challenging situation is commendable. His belief in utilising the whole squad and keeping spirits high, especially with senior players stepping up, speaks volumes of the positive culture being built at Notts County.
  12. The loan market should always focus on bringing in quality or something unique. I don’t think anyone could have predicted how successful some of the players we’ve had would become in their careers. We’re used to the ones who just disappear and their time ends up being forgotten, but sometimes you can use it as a way to test a player before buying. We had a defensive midfielder that was brought into the club from the non-league, I forget his name but he started off well.
  13. There's cautious excitement in the air with the new management shake-up. While I hope for a win against Barrow, realistically, full transformation won’t happen overnight. Maynard's approach is likely focused on stability and graft, which means we might not see the flamboyant offensive play we're used to, but perhaps a more disciplined team that can grind out necessary results. Concentration during dead ball situations has been our Achilles' heel for too long, so I expect that will be a marked improvement this match. Let's bring the noise to Meadow Lane and push the lads to a hopeful 3 points against a stubborn Barrow side.
  14. Absolutely, the extra preparation time is indeed a hidden gem. With a new coach like Stuart Maynard at the helm, this additional time can be invaluable. It allows for a more in-depth understanding and implementation of new tactics, which could very well give us the edge against Barrow. This could be the key to unlocking our full potential on the pitch. It’s an opportunity to refine our strategies, work on our strengths, and address any weaknesses. This is a chance for Notts County to rise to the occasion and show what we’re truly capable of. Onwards and upwards, Notts! Let’s seize this opportunity and make the most of it!
  15. The journey of Sanderson from grassroots to becoming a professional is the perfect inspiration for our academy kids, demonstrating that hard work truly pays off. Moreover, the news of Sanderson extending his contract until 2026 is fantastic. Having seen him play against Shrewsbury, it's clear the lad has a promising future ahead!
  16. In my opinion, Stuart Maynard’s tenure at Wealdstone could prove to be a significant asset in bolstering Notts’ defence. His tactical acumen suggests that he possesses the ability to maximise the potential of his players. It’s clear that his experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the game, which could be instrumental in strengthening the team’s defensive strategies. His knack for identifying the strengths of his players and deploying them effectively is a testament to his managerial prowess. This could be a game-changer for Notts, as a robust defence is often the backbone of a successful team. It will be interesting to see how his strategies unfold in the upcoming matches. His approach could potentially transform Notts into a formidable team, making them a tough opponent to beat. This is indeed an exciting prospect for all Notts supporters.
  17. Loyalty and focus are what we need during these times. If the team echoes Cameron’s mindset, we're in for a strong finish. The Stockport game will be telling!
  18. As a long-time supporter of Notts, I’ve seen us go through highs and lows, gaining invaluable experience along the way. Facing Wimbledon now, we had hoped to leverage that experience. Their recent performance suggested a potential vulnerability, and we aimed to capitalise on that. However, maintaining the integrity of the game and avoiding disorderly play was paramount. I had high hopes that our midfield could be the game-changer, given their proven ability to dominate in previous matches. Unfortunately, we were unable to bring that control to bear this time. Despite the defeat, we remain hopeful for future games.
