  1. I find it encouraging to see thoughtful debates and open discussions here. I can understand why some supporters might want a change at this point, as it’s difficult to see how Stuart Maynard will turn things around, not that I’m against him. I’m just saying I can see their point of view. What I don’t understand is how some are unwilling to give him a chance and keep reminding people at every opportunity that they’re against Maynard and want a better option in charge. That seems wrong, as it’s like hoping for this to happen, and I can’t see how that would be helpful. Personally, I’m inclined to give him the rest of the season. If things are still looking grim then, it might be worth reconsidering, but with the defence strengthening and any budget being used to add quality and depth, he might learn from this. I don’t think the problem right now is just one thing, but a combination of factors.
  2. @Piethagoram, sending positive vibes your way! Get well soon. It's communities like these that remind us how powerful compassion is.
  3. Will the match be fast-paced? Many say that AFC Wimbledon likes to counter-attack and wouldn’t mind if we controlled the ball. This is quite different from Notts’ style. It might lead to a chaotic and fun game. Let’s increase our concentration, regain possession quickly, and create solid opportunities. Hopefully, Notts will emerge victorious.
  4. Maynard's focusing on both our defensive structure and our attacking opportunities shows he's leaving no stone unturned. Reflecting on past encounters, understanding Wimbledon's play, and emphasising our strengths suggests Maynard has a comprehensive plan. Encouraging the team to be proactive in seeking goal chances while also ensuring defensive solidity resonates well with the unpredictable nature of League Two football. This blend of caution and aggression could very well be the key to overcoming Wimbledon's formidable defense.
  5. Thank you, for all the welcomes. I think the content on the site is top notch and I look forward to contributing more.
  6. The late postponement against Bradford was a setback, but Maynard’s approach to keeping the team focused and making the most out of a challenging situation is commendable. His belief in utilising the whole squad and keeping spirits high, especially with senior players stepping up, speaks volumes of the positive culture being built at Notts County.
  7. I don’t think the referee made the correct decision. I believe if David McGoldrick felt he handled it, we would have seen a reaction from him and the Wrexham players.
  8. Notts has high hopes that Jatta can make a difference. It might not be immediate, but he’s here and could be someone who might be more useful next season. Now he might need to settle in and get used to things.
  9. We’re going to get a lot of rain this year, with not much sun. I hope this is wrong but I don’t see the weather getting much better.
  10. The loan market should always focus on bringing in quality or something unique. I don’t think anyone could have predicted how successful some of the players we’ve had would become in their careers. We’re used to the ones who just disappear and their time ends up being forgotten, but sometimes you can use it as a way to test a player before buying. We had a defensive midfielder that was brought into the club from the non-league, I forget his name but he started off well.
  11. There’s a nice piece about Notts in the Football League paper. It’s clear that the board sees Stuart Maynard as a great fit, which is reflected in this article. It’s a good read nonetheless.
  12. There's cautious excitement in the air with the new management shake-up. While I hope for a win against Barrow, realistically, full transformation won’t happen overnight. Maynard's approach is likely focused on stability and graft, which means we might not see the flamboyant offensive play we're used to, but perhaps a more disciplined team that can grind out necessary results. Concentration during dead ball situations has been our Achilles' heel for too long, so I expect that will be a marked improvement this match. Let's bring the noise to Meadow Lane and push the lads to a hopeful 3 points against a stubborn Barrow side.
  13. Absolutely, the extra preparation time is indeed a hidden gem. With a new coach like Stuart Maynard at the helm, this additional time can be invaluable. It allows for a more in-depth understanding and implementation of new tactics, which could very well give us the edge against Barrow. This could be the key to unlocking our full potential on the pitch. It’s an opportunity to refine our strategies, work on our strengths, and address any weaknesses. This is a chance for Notts County to rise to the occasion and show what we’re truly capable of. Onwards and upwards, Notts! Let’s seize this opportunity and make the most of it!
  14. The journey of Sanderson from grassroots to becoming a professional is the perfect inspiration for our academy kids, demonstrating that hard work truly pays off. Moreover, the news of Sanderson extending his contract until 2026 is fantastic. Having seen him play against Shrewsbury, it's clear the lad has a promising future ahead!
  15. In my opinion, Stuart Maynard’s tenure at Wealdstone could prove to be a significant asset in bolstering Notts’ defence. His tactical acumen suggests that he possesses the ability to maximise the potential of his players. It’s clear that his experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the game, which could be instrumental in strengthening the team’s defensive strategies. His knack for identifying the strengths of his players and deploying them effectively is a testament to his managerial prowess. This could be a game-changer for Notts, as a robust defence is often the backbone of a successful team. It will be interesting to see how his strategies unfold in the upcoming matches. His approach could potentially transform Notts into a formidable team, making them a tough opponent to beat. This is indeed an exciting prospect for all Notts supporters.
