  1. We already have acquired two excellent centre backs so Notts don't have to pay over the odds for another one. If we are going to pay a transfer fee for a player, I would for a good goalkeeper. There is lots of competition to acquire a decent goalie at this time. We have to bare in mind that we already have Chicksen and Cameron who can play as a centre back or wingback. Ideally we need another right footed player who could play in the centre of defence or right wing back. Notts do their business quietly and in private, so I'm confident that they will be talking to players they are interested in, & it won't be long before we see more players coming in.
  2. Final score. Austria 0 France 1. A thrilling game ends with a one goal win for France Austria unlucky not to come away with a point. France will need to improve if they are to satisfy their favourites tag.
  3. To assist VAR in UEFA 24, UEFA are using a chip in the match balls to determine hand balls. Belgium had a goal disallowed because the chip detected a hand ball in the build up play before the goal was scored. It detects when the ball is touched and looks like Snicko on a screen. The Snicko showed that the ball touched the outstretched hand of the Belgian player. Football is really going hi tech. Is this what Football is all about? I don't like it. How about you? https://www.sportingnews.com/in/football/news/contact-sensor-var-chip-ball-snicko-euro-2024-technology/780882771226bde802160732
  4. Half time. Austria 0 France 1. A fortuitous own goal gives France the lead. Austria was competing well up to that point.
  5. Can Austria get a result against France? It will be a very tall order. The match has just begun. Austra 0 France 0: 5 min gone
  6. Not interested. He didn't choose Notts. Let's concentrate on the players that have joined Notts, and will join Notts.
  7. Big shock in Euro 24 Belgium 0 Slovakia 1. Belgium have two goals ruled out by VAR, one for a hand ball leading up to the second disallowed goal. If there wasn't VAR the goal wouldn't have been disallowed. First controversy of Euro 24.
  8. Just seen another click and bait Headline from the "Swansea Independent" saying Swansea COULD launch a move for Macca and Jodi this summer. We are already in mid summer and the emphasis is on COULD. It's just a headline to bait you in to click on their news. Looks like the Welsh media are absolutely desperate.
  9. Half time Belgium 0 Slovakia 1 Slovakia playing well. Belgium will need to go up a gear in the second half.
  10. Just 6 minutes into the match Slovakia score. Belgium 0 Slovakia 1
  11. Final Score Romania 3 Ukraine 0. Wasn't expecting that. Ukraine were big favourites in this one. Romania had the reputation of not scoring many. Ukraine have a lot to do if they have any chance of qualifying.
  12. @DangerousSausage Nice post. You've made a great case for Notts to mix it up more next season. Of course both styles have their merits I just wish the powers that be at Notts would recognise that too, and be much more flexible in their footballing philosophy. Stuart Maynard has to have the freedom to employ the British style much more to keep Notts opponents guessing.
  13. Two quick.goals for Romania in the second half. Romania 3 Ukraine 0 58 minutes gone.
  14. Half time Romania 1 Ukraine 0. A goal after 29 minutes for Romania Romania hit the bar direct from a corner too
  15. Great Story @Wheelbarrow repair man pity you didn't think to ask for his autograph, although I wouldn't have thought about it either. I'm sure that meeting Clough is not your only claim to fame????
  16. @Wheelbarrow repair man Agree about Bellingham having to take a lot of abuse. I am old enough remember Pele and Garrincha taking loads of physical abuse in the 1966 World Cup in England. Football hasn't changed as far as teams targeting certain players. How about this footage of Pele in a 1966 World Cup group game against Portugal taking foul after foul then playing the match on one leg. You wouldn't see a player doing this nowadays, and he still looked good even though he was immobile.
