Eric and Ernie Andre Previn and Gareth Southgate,
Do you Remember the Famous Piano Sketch with Morecombe & Wise and Andre Previn? Where Eric Grabbed Andre by the Collar of his Jacket and said this Famous Line. I'm Playing All The Right Notes, But Not Necessarily In The Right Order. Well Today my Eldest Son showed me a Photo, which is on X (I think) In which Gareth Southgate has Replaced Eric and Line Reads I'm Playing All The Right Players, But Not Necessarily In The Right Positions. I really am hoping one of my Fellow PON Members can find it and Post it on Here. I can't I'm afraid I'm Not On X.

Three Leopards
@Robbie Well I could have gone on, and on and on and on and on about Heraldry and then everybody on PON would Shout As One S.T.F. Up. That's why I kept it to a few Sentences. The term Leopards was used by Early Norman Kings and Arms attributed to them show Two and Not Three such Creatures. Early artists Probably never saw a Leopard and had to produce Art work based on word of Mouth, as were a number of Animals. A Heraldic Tiger for instance looked Nothing like the Animal that is Popular with People Today. Dolphins Whales and other Creatures came under then same Umbrella and early depictions are quite Funny to look at.

Three Leopards
@JIMBO Yes I believe you're right in fact Lions were kept at the Tower Zoo for around 700 years, two well preserved Lion Skulls were dug up at the Tower in the 1930's and due to Modern Carbon Dating were said to have lived there in around the 1480's ?

Three Leopards
I thought I'd write this Topic before it became Out of Date, due to England being Knocked out of the Euro's. But the badge on the ENGLAND Shirt is Wrong. Now before People start saying you're Barmy or Go and put your Tin foil Hat On, Let Me Explain. I'm a Bit of an History Buff and one of my Main Interests is Heraldry, and being an Artist (who has Sold Art, but It wasn't my full time Job) the Designs that have been Drawn and Painted over the Centuries has been an Interesting Hobby of Mine. Now I'm Not Going To Bore You To Tears by giving you along Drawn out History of Heraldry. Just to say that Heraldry was used for the Identification of Knights in Battle and who was on who's side. Each Knight had a Particular Design on his Shield and Coat of Arms which showed his Loyalty to His King or Lord. And the Animals emblazoned on their Shields looked a lot Different to the real thing. So the Real England Badge is what you see on his Majesty's Coat of Arms in the First and Fourth Quarters of the Royal Shield the Colouring is as Follows. I'll write the Colours in Non Heraldic Wording. A Shield with a Red Background with Three Golden Lions Walking Looking Outwards. However the Three Lions were called Leopards. Which looked nothing like the Real Animal, and resembled the Lion much More. They were renamed as Lions by Richard I (the Lion Heart) and these Golden Lions on a Red Background have been used by all Sovereigns since that time. Which means the Current England Badge of Blue Lions on a White Background is Wrong. The Flowers on the Present Badge are the Red and White Tudor Roses which were brought together by Henry VII from the Red Rose of Lancashire and the White Rose of Yorkshire, after the War of The Roses. Now if You're still Awake, it's a good Job the Lion Heart Changed the name. Frank Skinner Sing Three Leopards On His Shirt, Doesn't Quite Have the Same Ring To It.

Matt Palmer Interview & Catch up.
@DeadlyMacca No Pressure Then? Listening to Matty's Interview it seems things aren't exactly 100% quite Yet, but he's getting there and we Fans may not see the True Matty until a Couple or so matches into the Season.

Notts betting odds outside automatic promotion
@Robbie Good Points the only real Problem As I See It is If the Magpies start to go on a Bit of a Run, then the Media Glare will be back on Notts. There is also the Expectation of the Fans after all these excellent signings everybody thinks things will Gel straight away and the Results will come and if they Don't, Well we all remember last season.

Do the best players in the land together, make the best team?
@CliftonMagpie No Harry Kane Shouldn't be England Captain. I've always maintained at both Club and International Level A Captain should be a Defender or a Midfielder (Sorry Macca) there have been of course Excellent Goalkeeper Captains in the Past. In another Topic I wrote (Manager G.O.A.T.) I stated that England's First Manager Walter Winterbottom was never allowed to pick his own team, that was left to a Committee. Makes you think maybe that might still be going on in some form or another. Gareth Southgate I think we should pick this Player F.A. Committee Oh No Gareth, we Couldn't Put him in the Team He's Not Classed as a Super Star. Gareth Southgate Of course Not. What was I thinking? I Bow to your Superior Knowledge of the Game. Which brings me back to a Brian Clough Quote The F.A. Don't want me as England Manager, they're to Afraid I'd take Over And Run Things Properly. And I Would. So the F.A. Want a Coach who does as he's Told and wont make Waves and Do Their Bidding. Good Grief That Might Mean Southgate Will Get Another 5 Year Contract. Which Reminds Me Of A Saying EGO KILLS TALENT.

Notts betting odds outside automatic promotion
At 14/1 that may be worth a Punt. Not that I Gamble Myself. After their form towards the end of last Season and if they can keep that Form Going Doncaster Rovers could grab an Automatic Promotion Place. And to be Honest I can't see Chesterfield Doing a Wrexham.

Do the best players in the land together, make the best team?
@Robbie If we look at the Present England setup it's biggest Problem is it's Head Coach. Yes I know I keep going on about Southgate, but what real Credentials has he got to lead the 3 Lions? A Manager's Position at Middlesbrough some success with the England Under 21 side and that's about it. Oh almost Forgot he's also a Yes Man. So who really runs the England Team Southgate or the F.A.? Is Southgate just a Mouth Piece a Figure Head if you will Kowtowing to his Masters at the F.A.? Since the tenure of Terry Venables the England Managers who have followed None of them have been able to Inspire the England Squad onto Great things. And I don't care what People say hiring a Foreign Coach is Wrong on so many levels. How can a Swede or an Italian get enthused about a Footballing Side which isn't from his own Country? Put Pep in the England Dug Out and even he would Struggle. What has this got to do with this Topic? I'm coming to that it's just that the Rot in England's Case starts at the Top and Trickles Down. You can read any Have Your Say Fans Comment Section, and you'll get Dozens of Reasons why certain Players should be Picked for England and Why they Shouldn't. The England team for Many Many Years have consisted of Individuals, Talented Players but Individuals None the Less. England need a Team that play as a Team, they don't have to be the a Top Top Player just someone who gels with his Team Mates learns the way the play and they all become a United Unit ready to Play Help Encourage and Inspire each other, but most Importantly and this is another of my Favourite Quotes, they need a Captain who leads on the Pitch, someone who can coax the Best Out of His Team, understands the Game and how things can change during a Match and can himself adapt to those Changes But Can also help His Team Adapt. Since the turn of the 21st Century which England Captain as fulfilled his Role? In fact who was the Last England Captain that had True Unfailing Leadership Qualities?

I'm Oblivious To It?
@Robbie I was just about to ask who the Hell are Czechia? It's the Czech Republic in English, is it not? As I've said I'm not following the Tournament as closely as you, but who ever England meet in the next round, I think they'll get Knocked Out, they just don't seem to be up for this Competition, there's a lethargy around the whole Squad and an I Don't Give A Damn Attitude from the Team which turns up on the Pitch. Southgate as stuck to the same players only changing the odd one and he Refuses to change Tactics. My only hope is when England are Knocked Out Southgate does the Honourable thing and Falls on his Sword. Eight years spent playing a System which doesn't suit the National Side, it used to just about worked against the Minnows of the Football World but now even they have worked England Out and the 3 Lions struggle against those Team as Proven in the England Group Matches.

Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.
This Chap buys a Budgie. Can it Talk? asks his Mate. No says the Budgies Owner Well you have to encourage it. Buy it a Swing a Ladder and a Bell. Budgies like all that stuff. The Budgie's owner's Mate comes back a Couple of days later. Is the Budgie Talking? NO I forgot to say last time. Buy the Budgie a Mirror. It'll think it's Reflection is another Budgie , and it'll start talking to it. A week later the Guy returns and asks Is the Budgie Talking ? It's Dead, says the owner. But it did say one word before it died. What? FOOD.

I'm Oblivious To It?
@Robbie We know it, why doesn't Southgate Know it? I think the whole of English Football Knows It, both Fans and Pundits. Because the English Head Coach is a Total Clueless..... I think I'd better Stop There I Don't want throwing of the Site. But I think you get the Idea. Hopefully this is his Last Tournament and England's next Head Coach is a Proper Coach who Plays Players in their correct Positions and Brings out the Talent, England Obviously Has In It's Ranks.

I'm Oblivious To It?
@Robbie True Words you have spoken, career wise Jack should never have gone to Man City. Because if you get into Pep's bad Books he'll try and Destroy your Career, despite all his Success Pep dose have a Dark Side. Look what he did to Joe Hart who thankfully did manage to get his Career back on course at Celtic and finish with a Bag Full of Trophies in Scotland. If he doesn't get Back in the City Side on a Regular Basis, I expect him to Leave in the next January Transfer Window
-
I'm Oblivious To It?
@KingMaynard. He should have brought Jack Grealish Despite Not Playing much for Manchester City, towards the end of the season he would have moved a Hell of a lot Quicker than some current England Players Southgate as Picked.

There were these two W.R.E.N.S who had gotten a Weekend Pass, They had to be back at their Base by Midnight on the Sunday. Unfortunately they got back at a Quarter past 12. What we going to do now Trace? asked the first WREN Well we'll have to Climb the Wall and Crawl over the Barb Wire that runs along the top. So Tracey gives her mate Sharon a bunk Up Grabbing the top of the wall Sharon starts to crawl under the Barb Wire. Here Trace, I feel like a Commando. So Do I replies Tracey. But were are we going to get a Commando at this time in the Morning?
