It’d be great to have that first day win but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s crucial, it’s a very long season and there’ll no doubt be ups and downs, I think a draw would be ok but if we lost it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

As usual Williams has meticulously planned and prepared fantastically well for the coming season, each pre season match has seen a different challenge which has given him a chance to try different systems and players in different roles. I think we can look forward to the new season with quiet confidence.

Being the first game it’s hard to say how teams will play, in fact it’s hard to say how we will play, will Williams keep the high line we played last season with lots of possession and wearing the opposition down? I think however we play we have the better players and should be too strong for Sutton, expectations will be very high but if we don’t hit the ground running I won’t panic it’s a long season.

I still don’t know what a “fatigue injury” is. It’s fascinating to hear Williams talk about the preparations and training regime for the new season, they certainly go about it very professionally with the step by step build up.

According to Luke Williams Langstaff and Randall had a fatigue injury whatever one of those is. Neither were serious.

I’ve just looked at the league one table and they’re in the relegation zone with no points so Notts will have no problems. Seriously it’ll be a tough game, a draw would be a good result in my opinion, I expect Williams to field a team pretty much the one he wants to start the season with.

He sounds almost as excited as I am for the forthcoming season, I can’t wait to see what he can bring to the team apart from his goals. He sounds like he’s fit and prepared after a good pre season and still looking to learn from Williams even though he’s an experienced pro.

I wondered if your word was Cisco but I didn’t think it was a word so wouldn’t be allowed. I’m off to look it up now.
