Certainly lots of positives to take from the performance against Oldham but I think Martin Patterson would be the first to agree we aren’t the finished article yet there’s still work to be done, in fact he said as much in his post match interview. There’s two weeks free now to work on the things we can improve on, we need consistently good performances if we are serious about promotion, I’m certainly optimistic that this season will be a good one.

Good morning the sun is out here and it looks like a pleasant day. I’m going to nip to B&Q to see if they’ve got any bark to put on the garden, the last week or so I’ve been slowly weeding one area and I’ve put some membrane down that we had in the shed so all I need now is the bark on top. The fact that we are the oldest professional football club in the world gives us a unique status and this new venture is way overdue, it’s high time we started celebrating our heritage and bringing tourists to Meadow Lane, well done Notts I hope it’s a huge success.

As long as strikers are scoring we don’t have a problem but it’s good when midfielders can chip in with a few goals too, who remembers Richard Butchers scoring run? As Robbie says Palmers skills are elsewhere but I do think Grant badly needs one of his many golden opportunities to go in to give him some confidence. Hall is doing brilliantly at the moment and I’m sure he’ll score many more.

While I should have been watching the match at Meadow Lane I was in fact standing queuing in the rain so that I could have a needle stuck in my arm (flu jab). Apparently I’m not old enough for the covid jab this year so I was spared that.

It’s great to see Jatta score I think if we can keep him fit he’ll be a big player for us this season.

I couldn’t make the match but listening to John Thompson on the radio he said Bedeau had a great game, Thommo was a brilliant defender for us so I trust his judgement therefore my vote goes to Bedeau.
