Remember, remember
It’s Bonfire Night tonight, who’s having a bonfire? Who’s having a firework party? Who’s going to a organise firework display? We aren’t doing any of the above, although the local football club are having an organised display which we’ll watch from the safety of our bedroom window. 😂 I remember In the sixties as kids we loved Bonfire night, all the local kids would collect combustible stuff and we’d build a huge bonfire on waste ground and let off fireworks as we watched the guy burn on the top. We also used to make a guy in the days before bonfire night and put it on a homemade wooden trolley or a pram and ask passing folk for a “penny for the guy”, as I lived near the Meadow lane stadium I used to take my Guy there on match days and stand outside before and after the match, if Notts won everyone would be happy and give money if they lost I didn’t get so much. Who else has got memories of their childhood bonfire nights?

I pretty much agree with everything he said in that video.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Manchester United U21 (A)
I thought he said that the door was open to all the players in the team that night, Traore and Jarvis were both in the team which suggests the door is closed to certain players who didn’t feature at all.

What makes you say that @Piethagoram ? I’ve just listened to the interview and I didn’t hear the DoF or Technical Board mentioned or referred to. I did hear him say that the door is closed to certain players who he has made a decision on, I wasn’t too happy with that comment it doesn’t help harmony within the group, I’d rather him say the door is always open if the players work hard and show that they deserve to be in the starting 11.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Manchester United U21 (A)
Well that’s two cups we’re out of in the space of a few days, to be honest I’m not too bothered an FA Cup run would have been nice and earned a bit of money for the club but the league is the main priority. Notts showed some bright moments but again we were very pedestrian, I thought Khouyar was our best player, I’m not convinced that Griffiths should replace Roos, I wasn’t too impressed with him I think he’s too inexperienced to be the No. 1. It was good to see the youngsters get some minutes the experience will be good for them, we move on to a Monday now and hopefully a win but it won’t be easy against Cotterills Cheltenham they are doing well since he arrived.

New Goalkeeping Coach Darren Smith
Darren Smith has been appointed as our new Goalkeeper Coach following Steve Collis’ departure for York City. Smith, who enjoyed a playing career as a goalkeeper in non-league, boasts a wealth of senior coaching experience having held similar roles with the likes of Ipswich Town, Colchester United, MK Dons and most recently Ebbsfleet United. He said: “The opportunity to come to a club of this magnitude, and to work with the likes of Martin Paterson, Sam Slocombe and Andy Edwards, who I know from Colchester, was too good to turn down – especially with the club being in such a strong position to challenge for promotion this season. “I want to be a mentor to the goalkeepers and help them be the best they can be – with the ultimate goal being to give the team the best chance of winning three points on a Saturday.” Director of Football Richard Montague added: “Darren has impressed us with his energy and enthusiasm, as well as his varied CV which has seen him hold key roles in big academies and also the women’s game. “We warmly welcome him to Meadow Lane and look forward to working with him.” Collis, who joined us ahead of the 2024-25 season, departs with the club’s best wishes for the future. The other coach has gone to join Maynard at York.

Weekly Chat Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th November
Thanks @super_ram shes feeling a bit better tonight. Yesterday I had to cook the dinner and even though I say it myself I made a lovely Lamb Tagine with Couscous, the lamb cost a fortune though it’s so expensive these days.

Well the form filling for the doctors was a bit of a faff for Mrs. T, there were 3 online pages of questions to fill out. The surgery rang her two hours later to say a prescription for antibiotics had been sent to the chemist and she had to take a urine sample to the surgery. At least she’ll be treated so that was good. Hopefully when she’s taken a few antibiotics she’ll feel better. I can’t help feeling sorry for anyone whose not computer literate, hopefully there is an option to get treatment for them.
