Jim O'Brien's first interview as Interim Head Coach of Notts.
Iβm a big fan of Jim OβBrien, I think heβs the best choice to lead us. People are too critical of him. If Michael Doyle had been here, the squad would have been filled with his friends, unlike OβBrien who tried to assemble the best squad he could. I hope he enjoys the experience, even if his hairline might not.

New manager
Iβm upset that Luke Williams has left, but heβs left the club in the best possible position, which should make finding the next manager easier. The Neil Warnock rumour seems to be just that, a rumour. Would he step down to League Two at his age? He might prefer retirement, especially considering Mark Hughesβ unsuccessful stint with Bradford City despite his impressive managerial record at higher levels. I donβt have a specific preference for the next manager, I trust the board to make the best decision. I donβt think theyβll opt for a short-term solution, I believe Notts will be looking at the long term, just like with previous managers. It wouldnβt surprise me if they went for a young, unproven coach. Being a good coach or manager is about more than just experience. You need to understand the game and if youβre brave enough to give someone a chance, it could pay off. But it has to be the right person, not just someone picked from an academy or a semi-professional team. Experience isnβt the main factor when choosing a new head coach, because it can be gained in the right environment with the right support.

TheSkipper commented on TheSkipper's blog entry in Black and White Memories: Nostalgia for Notts County Fans with TheSkipperThank you. I value every comment and appreciate those who took the time to read my blog post. I have many unfinished drafts that I plan to complete and share soon.

Welcome @Harry Buckley
Hello, @Harry Buckley. I am pleased to be welcoming you to the Pride of Nottingham. It's also nice to know you will be among your family. I bet @super_ram is delighted to see you on here. He pretends to support Derby, but believe me he's here a lot and speaks mostly of Notts. That's no coincidence. ????????

Anyone good with Photoshop?
The gaffer (@Chris) is brilliant at Photoshop. I wish I could do even half of what he can, but itβs beyond my skills. I thought there would be more Notts fans capable of creating things, so hopefully, if theyβre on PON, this will reach them.

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
Just to clarify, I don't blame Aidan Stone. Conceding 5 goals can really dent your confidence, and while being dropped wouldn't be a positive, it would give him some protection. I think whoever we have in goal will come under criticism, and some of that will be justified. I have less confidence in Stone once we concede; he seems to become a bit hesitant, especially with shots aimed high, and his reactions appear slow. Once again, I don't think he's to blame for the draw against Grimsby because defensively Notts should have done better. I think Sam Slocombe would bring more experience to the role.

Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
Iβm concerned that Stockport County will watch the Grimsby highlights and spot our weakness in guarding the goalkeeper. If Aidan Stone is playing, he needs to stay alert and work harder to shield the upper part of the goal. Many teams have realised that they just need to aim high. It might not be a popular opinion, but Iβd prefer Sam Slocombe to start. I consider Slocombe to be our top shot-stopper, and he handles stress better. If Jim OβBrien continues to manage the game, I hope he considers who the back three are. I donβt mind Connell Rawlinson, but it depends on the opposition. Stockport seems to have a good amount of speed, which would make me hesitant to start Rawlinson. Notts just needs to ensure we apply pressure and create opportunities. Stockport isnβt unbeatable. We performed well against them on their turf, but we made it too easy defensively.

PON Forum Shake Up
I admit Iβve been relying on the dashboard, but I need to start browsing the community page as well. I think the forum layout of PON is fine, but the changes have made things much clearer. We need to continue the good work as a community.

Greetings everyone!

December, 2023: ????Member(s) of the Month????????
A big thank you and well done to all. Iβve not been as involved as Iβd have liked this month, but itβs moments like these that make being part of the PON community so rewarding.

Macualay Langstaff Reflects on a Remarkable Year for Notts County
Macaualay Langstaff is continually getting better and his commitment to hard work is sure to yield results. The fact that he doesnβt fixate on goals or outcomes shows that heβs always focused on giving his utmost. It would be great if he could score a few goals tonight. It would be a nice lift for both him and us.

Luke Williams Reflects on Midseason and Expresses Respect for Stockport County
Hopefully, Luke Williams will get a break at some point. Heβs a competent manager and the respect he displays says a lot about his character. Heβs done exceptionally well for us, weβre truly fortunate.

Notts Countyβs Luke Williams on Team Performance: βWe Cannot Be So Scared to Play Footballβ
I have great faith in Luke Williams, and Iβm confident that he has the ability to turn things around. This is his first significant challenge at Notts County. We had a team capable of advancing from the National League when he joined. He just needs time to work out whatβs going wrong and how we can overcome these issues. Yes, itβs more than just a headache, itβs frustrating, but we canβt start demanding a new manager, just as itβs unrealistic to expect a completely new set of centre backs. Weβre sorely missing Matt Palmer, who brings so much control to our midfield. Itβs not an excuse. The defence should be able to cope, but theyβre simply not up to the task at the moment.
-
new led advertising
The club is committed to this, and I hope it does generate more revenue. I believe this is largely because the club is finding it difficult to get firms to sponsor a board at the moment. So, switching to LED could be a beneficial decision.

Luke Williams on Harrogate: 'Were More Unpredictable Than the League'
Notts' performance can be inconsistent, but that's just the nature of football. We can't anticipate consecutive promotions. League Two is tougher than the National League, but even so, underdogs can triumph. I simply wish for Notts to regain their discipline and determination to secure the outcomes we desire.

Iβve been capped by PoN
This sparked an idea in me that once a certain donation goal is reached, the member could be rewarded with a special PON cap. Imagine that! @Fan of Big Tone, this is fantastic, it really suits your blurry face. I hope you enjoy it!

Subscribing to Pride of Nottingham
Even though I have a job, I probably wouldnβt be able to commit to a membership tier. Itβs astonishing how quickly money can disappear, but I will remember to make occasional donations because itβs the least I can do and I know Chris will appreciate it.

Where are they now? Alan Sheehan
I would always wish the best for someone like Alan Sheehan. We may have had difficulties during his time at the club, but none of it was his fault. We are indebted to him for the penalty he scored that kept us in League One against Oldham. I hope he accomplishes his coaching aspirations.

Match Discussion: Game 22 - Sulphurites (A)
I want to see Notts attack as we know they can. Weβve had good and bad performances away from home, some average, but no matter how we play, creating goal opportunities can win games, so we need to improve creatively. I believe Dan Crowley will bounce back after being substituted, assuming heβs not injured. @yelobeli - I hope you manage to get the tickets. You often see them being sold in Facebook groups when some fans canβt attend. Iβll be there, @CliftonMagpie or @liampie always sorts our tickets the moment they go on sale. Have a nice day whatever you end up doing.

Notts Countyβs Momentum: βOne-nil Up is Not Job Done,β Says Luke Williams
Currently, Luke Williams is facing a slump and poor performance that he hasnβt encountered before. Usually, he can get Notts back on track, but for some reason, despite the effort, itβs not working at the moment. I donβt agree with David Jacksonβs presser suggestion that Notts are overconfident. I believe itβs not a lack of confidence. Itβs likely a combination of nerves and panic causing the defensive problems. As for what went wrong in the second half against Walsall, itβs much simpler because Notts just stopped playing. When that happens, passing becomes tedious.

MAGnet Links - Harrogate
Ed Francis is another footballer to mention in this MAGnet discussion, given that he also played for Harrogate.

Introducing James Sanderson #Notts
Heβs already made a mark with that goal. Our fans simply want to see a young player succeed, and thereβs nothing wrong with that. Iβm excited about our youth prospects, but we need to ensure theyβre ready for the first team.

Tifos (stadium displays)
I fully support this idea. It would be wonderful to have at Meadow Lane. We could create a display about our relegation from the Football League and how Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz revitalised us, making us an appealing club to watch.
