Notts County picked up a 1-1 draw at Sutton United at the weekend courtesy of Kyle Wootton's impressive second-half strike. The on-loan Scunthorpe forward rifled a shot into the top corner from distance - his first goal for the club - seven minutes after the break to get Neal Ardley's side back on level terms. Sutton had taken the lead in the 11th minute when Harry Beautyman slotted home David Ajiboye's cross at the back post for his fourth goal of the season. The Magpies came cloUpdated by PON_News

Notts County began the 2018-19 season with a point in a tricky and ultimately underwhelming 0-0 draw with Colchester United at Meadow Lane. The Magpies considerably strengthened their ranks over the summer with several high-profile signings rocking up at the club so the hope was of hitting the ground running against somewhat mediocre opposition. It didn't go that way though, with both sides looking rusty in the first League Two game of the campaign, and the outcome was a share of the sAdded by PON_News

As the oldest Football League club in existence, Notts County have not only created history of their own, but they've also played a part in the history of other clubs. By now all Notts fans will be well aware of the connection between the Magpies and Juventus, thanks to Nottingham man Tom Gordon Savage's procurement of shirts with black and white vertical stripes when he lived in Turin back in 1903. But with Tottenham Hotspur saying goodbye to White Hart Lane this season as they preparUpdated by Chris

Since coming to Meadow Lane two years ago, Ronan Murray has quickly established himself as one of Notts County’s first-choice players. The young Irishman originally signed to the club on a short-term contract as one of four successful trialists in 2013, but he went on to play a key role in helping the Magpies avoid relegation from League One with nine goals in 16 starts. Of course, there was the odd setback, most notably the red card on the quarter-hour mark of thUpdated by cheeky~k8

August is over and done with, Notts County's first month of the season is now just a memory, and we move on to September's fixtures with the Magpies nicely nestled in seventh place in League Two. However, much like any other job where its employees are routinely recognised and rewarded, it's worth recognising the players who have impressed in the black and white in August. Jorge Grant has already been named the player of the month by Notts County, the fans picking him head and shoulderUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County returned to winning ways - and to the top of League Two - in emphatic style thanks to a 3-0 win over Newport County in Saturday's game at Meadow Lane. The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute when Dan Butler was dismissed following an elbow on Matt Tootle and fell behind shortly afterwards when Jorge Grant slotted home from Jon Stead's pass. Shola Ameobi then doubled the Magpies' lead with a neat finish after 52 minutes, turning in a Grant cross. The NotUpdated by Joe Jones

Notts County came so close to claiming a first league victory against Mansfield Town since 2005 but ultimately they fell just short in heartbreaking circumstances. The big League Two derby, which kicked off at 1pm, saw the Magpies take the lead midway through the first half. Terry Hawkridge was the man who scored the opener, a scrappy goal bundled home from close range after Conrad Logan had palmed Shola Ameobi's header back out into danger. Notts County fell to their first loss this month as National League high-flyers Bromley went top of the table thanks to their 2-1 win over the Magpies at Hayes Lane. Neal Ardley's side went a goal down after just two minutes when Luke Coulson's cross found Alfie Doughty at the back post and he smashed the ball into the roof of the Notts net. Bromley keeper Mark Cousins tipped away a goalbound corner from Jim O'Brien but could do nothing to stop Kyle Wootton’s third goal in as many gameUpdated by PON_News

Notts County made it back-to-back wins as they ran out 2-0 winners over AFC Fylde at Meadow Lane on Saturday. Wes Thomas opened the scoring for Neal Ardley's side on after 19 minutes as he went past several Fylde defenders before rifling into the roof of the net from the edge of the area. Fylde weighed in with several opportunities, with Danny Rowe looking dangerous, but goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe had to be sharp to thwart Sam Osborne and Kyle Wootton. Notts County have returned to the summit of League Two as Jorge Grant bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over 10-man Newport County. The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 36th minute when he calmly slotted into the corner from inside the box after being played in by Jon Stead. That came just three minutes after Dan Butler had seen red for catching Matt Tootle with his elbow in an aerial challenge. Notts County were pegged back eight minutes into injury time as Mansfield Town's late, late penalty saw them leave Meadow Lane with a point in a 1-1 draw. The Magpies were on the verge of recording a first league win over the Stags since 2005 in front of a bumper crowd that braved the snowy, cold, treacherous conditions at the San Sirrel. Notts County substitute Kristian Dennis scored a late equaliser as the Magpies salvaged a draw at Dover at the Crabble Athletic Ground. The hosts took the lead 10 minutes before half-time thanks to a Bobby-Joe Taylor free-kick, but Notts were level before the break. Richard Brindley was fouled by Taylor inside the box and Mitch Rose sent Lee Worgan the wrong way from the penalty spot to make it 1-1. Notts County's impressive run this season continues to gather pace after a 1-0 win at Port Vale on Saturday. The Magpies faced their third League One-relegated opponent in their first five League Two games of the season at Vale Park in the first weekend of September. However, the Valiants have not been in good form this campaign, and they succumbed to a defeat at the hands of Notts thanks to substitute Lewis Alessandra's second-half strike. With Notts County flying high in League Two, manager Kevin Nolan is very much the man of the moment for overseeing the transformation of a side that was previously all but certain to slip out of the Football League. In a recent interview with The Observer, the 35-year-old spoke about a number of topics both about himself and his club. Notts County have reached the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Brentford. The Magpies more than matched their Championship opponents for the majority of the game at Griffin Park. Moments after a Bees effort bounced along the Notts goal-line, the visitors attacked at the other end and scored through a superb Jon Stead curled shot. The result sees Notts in the hat for Monday's draw, with the potential of a plum tie against a Premier League side up for grabs.Added by Joe Jones
