Adam Campbell: 'One away win could change everything'

Joe Jones

Adam Campbell has claimed that just one away victory could change Notts County’s poor form on the road.

The Magpies succumbed to their fifth away defeat last Saturday when they were beaten 3-1 by Shaun Derry's Cambridge United – leaving them with a record of just one league win away from Meadow Lane.

Campbell said: "I can't put my finger on it at all. It's the million dollar question isn't? We are so good at home, yet away we are struggling.

"We thought we had turned the corner against Bristol Rovers where we ground out a good 0-0 draw. And then we went to Exeter, played really well and perhaps should have won the game given the chances we created. It looked then that we might have cracked it, but then came Salford and we know what happened there.

"It's so frustrating, but I genuinely think if we can get that first away victory then I think that could spark us off. The sooner we get it the better. Not just for the players, but the fans as well because they've been tremendous and have always travelled well.”

It's not quite the million pound question, it's actually simple.

Moniz adjusted things so we improved at home, yet around the same time our away form was going out of the window. I think it's partly due to tactics and confidence - The lone striker works with certain teams but not all, when you play teams who have tall physical centre back (a lot of League Two teams have these) you will always struggle to a degree.

I hope that one away win will make the difference but I don't think it's actually that simple.

Simple in the terms of finding a team which can perform away from home, handle the pressure and 'home' crowd - yet can be encouraged from our away support which is very good IMO.

We need to stop changing sides so easily though, yes when players perform badly for x games but just one seems extreme to me.

I like this lads attitude, he seems to have his head screwed on properly. If we can get a run going, I feel we would be better off but with everything football is not always predictable.
