Kevin Nolan has provided an update on Michael O'Connor's rehabilitation, saying the Notts County club captain is doing really well and is on the right track.
The 30-year-old needed surgery to repair his cruciate ligaments and on his meniscus, an injury picked up against Portsmouth in April last season.
Nolan says he is delighted with the progress made so far by the midfielder and hasnβt ruled out a return by the end of the season.
βOccyβs professionalism has shown right through this process,β Nolan told the Nottingham Post.
βHeβs had a few minor setbacks, but the way heβs gone about it, the way heβs attacked this injury β heβs doing really well.
βHe had a lot of problems in that knee but itβs a testament to him, Tom Hallas and the people working behind him.
βHeβs done fantastically well and heβs got to continue working hard. Weβve just got to keep the reins on him and let him not go too fast too soon.
βWe want him back as quickly as possible, but as I always say, the health of the player is the most important thing.
βWe want him back when heβs right. Heβs in a good place and I am absolutely delighted.
βWhat a result it would be to have him back for the final few weeks of the season.
βHe has experience, intelligence and being your skipper, it would be a massive boost for everyone around the club.β
