Kevin Nolan has admitted he would love to have Mason Bennett back at Notts County, but he has to wait on what new Derby County manager Frank Lampard has in plan for the forward.

The Magpies have been continuously linked with re-signing the 21-year-old, whose loan spell at Meadow Lane in January was cut short because of a hamstring injury.

“If Frank likes him and wants to keep him around the squad then we won’t have a chance,” Nolan told the Nottingham Post.

“I know he was really looking forward to having some time here and that hasn’t changed.

“If we get the opportunity and everything is right, then I would be delighted to have him back.

“He would push the lads and having him along with Jon Stead, Kristian Dennis and Kane Hemmings would give us four quality strikers.”
